3 Chapter 3

Chichi had his placed firmly on the wheel, gripping it so hard his knuckles were completely drained of color. The engine was roaring waiting for the beat up red pickup truck to reverse out of the parking spot. At first, hr was too deep into his stupor that he didn't know someone was banging on his passenger side door. It wasn't until the person had opened the driver's door, and he found himself in someone's arms in a princess carry that he startled awake. 'Who a-- No what ar--'
'Welcome back to the world of the living,' the man commented as he put Chichi in the passenger side then continued, 'Stay. Don't try and get in the driver's seat while you are in a state of panic.'
'Who are you to tell me what I can do!'
'A doctor. As your friend said, I am Dr. O'Brien. But you can call me Jesse. Now whete's your house?'
Chichi glared at the blonde and growled, 'Do you always barge into people's lives like this?'
'If it involves Court Davison, and I find out about it, yes.'
Chichi looked at him confused.
'Your friend, Tex, told me your father was going to your house today. And mentioned your name… I put two and two together.'
'How do you know about us?'
'I'll talk more once you tell me which way to go from this parking lot. And make it snappy.'
Chi finally relented and put his phone in the carport, and put his put his address into the navigator app. He made sure to turn up the volume, then stared out the window. After they got on the main road he repeated his question. 'How do you know about us?'
'Court is currently married to my mother. To put it mildly, he's not very kind to her or me. Now that I am older, I am taking the brunt of it.
I investigated him, and found out we weren't the first family he made trouble for. There aren't many male omegas in the world, and Chichi isn't a very common name, so when I confirmed with Tex, I came running.'
'I really don't think your help is necessary. We don't need an alpha's protection.'
'I am not doing this because of the subgenders of the people involved. I am doing this because of who Court is. Besides, if it weren't for me, you wouldn't know he's married would you?'
Chichi sighed. 'True.'
'You know, I am surprised the guy I paid for his textbooks for is the one who got royally fucked over by Court.'
'I'm not the one who got royally fucked over. It was my mother. But we were lucky. My grandparents, Court's -- well parents isn't the right word, but I'll use it for lack of a better one -- took us in. And they disowned Court. Oh and don't refer to him as my father ever again. He lost that right when he decided to ditch my mother after raping him.'
Jesse looked at Chichi for a long time, trying to ascertain if he knew the real truth about what Court did.
'You are looking at me funny. Like there's something you know that I don't. Or you think I don't.'
'Sorry… Just was thinking about your phrasing.'
'I know my father whored out Mama too, but that was after he raped Mama. It was him whoring Mama out to his buddies that got him disowned, though.' Chichi then looked over at the blonde man, who he had to admit was very attractive, 'So Dr. O'Brien, sorry, Jesse, what's your story with him?'
'You would have been six at the time or so. I was... I think I was fifteen? I don't know exactly when or where they met, but that's when he married her. Looking back, he obviously married Mom for the money. He pushed her around, that's saying it politely, and claimed it was because she wasn't anywhere near as good as an omega. One day after stopping my fellow students from attacking a student in heat, I realized exactly what Court meant. Not because I fucked an omega mind you, but because I saw alpha and omega instincts at play. I got between Court and my mom that day, and have been his prey ever since.'
'Prey, as in…'
Jesse nodded. He'd never say it aloud, but it was exactly what Chichi assumed.
'So is your mother a Beta?'
'No, Alpha.'
'He did that to alphas?!'
'Yeah. His views of gender are wonky.'
'Clearly.' Chichi then pointed, 'That gate hidden amongst the trees is my house entrance.'
The driveway was long and winding, trees on either side, making it difficult to tell if the sun was out or not. The house itself was very Victorian-esque. It looked like a small manor that required the care of multiple servants to manage. 'Nice place. Been in the family a while?'
'Sort of. When the family stopped producing Alphas it fell out of our hands thanks to all sorts of prejudice and inadequate care of omegas. But my grandparents bought it back after gaining fame and fortune despite being omegas.'
Chichi clung to Jesse's arm and then whispered, 'Play along.' He then opened the door and called, 'I'm back. And I brought home a guest for dinner!'
A soft, scared voice responded, 'Send your guest home please.'
Chichi whispered to Jesse, 'They're in the sitting room. That's Mama's voice.' He then defiantly said louder, 'Seriously! You've been waiting for me to bring home someone I trust to care for me since I got my first heat, and when I finally do, you want me to send him home. Not happening.'
An ashen haired, green eyed, six foot tall gentleman stepped out of the room, 'The only person you can bring home to meet the family is someone of my choosing!'
'I don't answer to you,' Chichi shoved his way past him, pulling Jesse along with him.
'Don't you dare talk back to me! I am your father!' The man hissed as he yanked Chichi by the arm.
Jesse grabbed Court's hand as quickly as he had grabbed Chi's. 'Really now. Last I checked this family gave up on you before my boyfriend was even born.' Jesse gave him a sickening sweet smile. 'What were you thinking of doing this time, try and convince these lovely people you changed then whore out both Minnie and Chichi?'
Court paled when Jesse spoke. 'What are you doing here?!'
'Isn't it obvious?' Again, Jesse gave him a sickeningly sweet smile. 'Just because your current wife and stepson are taking you to court, you think you can run away?'
'You insolent brat!' He started to raise his hand but Jesse stopped him immediately.
'I don't think you want to add another assault to the list of charges we've filed against you. You'll already be locked up for a long time.'
Court growled.
Finally, the oldest man in the room stood up and said, 'I've had enough, Court. You're not even supposed to be here in the first place.' He dialed the cops. 'Yes, I have someone at my house who broke a restraining order we have against him and tried to attack my family.'
'Shit! You asshole! You stupid worthless omegas! All you are good for is spreading your legs. And you, Mom and Dad, should just die! Now that you're old, you're worthless.'
'Do I need to remind you you are no longer family? You have no family.'
Court somehow managed to free himself and started charging at Isa, the older gentleman. Minnie, Jesse, and, Chichi all went to tackle him, but Court was fastest, and got to Isa and stabbed him in a gut with a hidden knife. 'Die!' As he was going for the second attack, Chichi grabbed his arms and wrenched his arms behind his back.
Minnie took the knife. He was livid, scared, and shocked at the same time. His hand shook as he held the knife, and his voice quivered as he spoke, 'After all these years… I finally think I want to speak up against you. You worthless piece of shit.'
By that time the cops arrived and banged on the door. Eventually, because no one could really move since they were at a standstill, the cops broke down the door. The sergeant was first to enter and told his partner, 'Call an ambulance!' He then started cuffing Minnie since he was holding the knife.
'No! He's not the one!' Chichi growled. 'The guy I'm restraining is the one.'
The sergeant just laughed, 'Ha. Yeah right. This guy was holding the knife.'
Jesse rolled his eyes. 'You would rather let a murderer and abuser go free than believe the words of 3 omegas?'
The EMTs arrived and took over for the sergeant's partner who was trying to stop the blood flow from Isa's stomach. The stress made Minnie faint in the sergeant's arm's.
'Show me proof that I should believe the words of the omegas.'
Jesse rolled his eyes and said, 'How about the blood on Court's hands and clothes? I am sure too you can hear on the recording of the call his voice. But beyond that, I can also verify it. If you are going to claim who is the criminal simply based on gender of witnesses/suspects, then I will point out I too am an alpha. And this man is already in the middle of court proceedings from my mother and I.'
'Fine. Officer Davenport, cuff him too.' He nodded at Court. 'We'll discuss this at the station.'
