The silence lasted for a very long time.

The interaction between the son and mother throughout the past dozens of years was infinitely close to none.

If others watched their daily life, their relationship would appear no different from that of strangers.

".....Divorce..." Veren opened his mouth with a hallowed voice. He felt like something was stuck in his throat, refusing to go away....he didn't want it to go away either in one corner of his heart.

'I don't want to talk to this bitch....however, I don't have any choice either! I just have to hold it in till I destroy my father.' A resolute glint appeared in Veren's eyes.

"What did you..." Veren's mother had an unreal expression.

Veren's fierce eyes met his mother's shaking pupil.

Seeing his mother clenching her fist and her pale complexion, Veren was now sure that she had such thought herself. But she was never able to build up her courage.

"You...who gave you such an idea? We will only suffer further if..." Veren's mother tried to place her hand on his shoulder, only to be stopped by him.

Veren held his mother's hand softly. At first, he only used one hand, but then he used his other hand to wrap around her palm – as if to reassure her. In reality, he just wanted to stop his hand shaking from disgust.

'I have to hold it in...I thought it would be hard, but I never knew I would feel like vomiting just by looking at this bitch's caring face.' Veren impulsively wanted to push his mother's hand away.

"You just have to place a camera around the room, I get beaten by my father usually. And if by any chance father finds out about it, I will take responsibility."

Veren's words brought an uncertain expression on his mother's face.

Just a twist being, Veren's meaning of responsibility was different from what his mother might expect. His resolve was not that shallow and brittle.

'If it doesn't work, I will just have to take the fall. I will make my father stab me....or stab him myself. Though that would make me a criminal and ruin my future prospects.'

Veren's mother couldn't resist the hope that represented itself before her in the end.

Veren thought blankly: 'What a nice day. Tomorrow is going to be father's day off, so he will be heavily drunk today without a doubt.'

.....

Entering his house, Veren's father wobbled through the hallway. Seeing his son sitting on the sofa as if he had every free time in the world.

The alcohol fueled his small fuse to be burnt even faster.

"Come here, you rat! What did I tell you before? If you have free time, use it to study or help your mother with cleaning or something! What do you think my words amount to, huh?!"

Veren let himself be pulled by his father, while making a slightly scared face. Only his eyes remained crystal clear.

At first, Veren always wondered why his father was always so violent and authoritative at home. He couldn't comprehend it at younger age, but he understood it recently.

The person that made Veren go through all that suffering in the end was actually.....very weak.

All his father's actions were done due to his low self-esteem. Such realisation made him all the more disgusted internally.

"What did I tell you to say when committing a mistake..."

"I'm sorry...."

" Too late!!"

Veren's face was slapped with a loud sound, leaving behind a red imprint. His father's usual beating continued.

After running out of steam, his father snorted and left the room.

"Hahahaha....." Veren's stifled laughter spread through the room.

With all his power, he moved himself outside the door. Bringing along the mobile that recorded everything.

Not long after, the siren of the police reached his ears.

"Phuuu....this is the end. I only have those bullies to deal with now."

Veren wasn't good in acting, moreover it had to be done before professional individuals. So he just maintained a blank face as usual, that was the only expression he had the most experience with.

"Are you the one who called the station...."

"It was my mother....please look at this."

The process after the police watched the video was smooth.

It had to be said, Veren's mother nailed the timing to call the police. He didn't know whether it was a good or bad thing.

Veren's heart was dancing with joy, seeing his father being pulled into the car.

The request for divorce went through with this incident. Being accepted in just a few days.

Only the official court procedure was left.

....

Veren headed to the school, not looking at his mother who tried to smile and send him off.

Having taken leave for the past few days, he was in quite a good mood.

Arriving in the classroom, Veren looked at the bullies who were acting strangely for some reason.

'They seem nervous.' Veren squinted his eyes for a second and ignored them.

A few minutes went by,

"Hey, follow us." Suddenly one of the bullies pulled Lucas's shoulder with a tight grip.

Veren's expression didn't change as he got up. No one noticed him putting a knife within his pocket from the bag.

'I will use it only in the worst case scenario. I just want to fight back, it doesn't matter if I lose. I'm sick of taking hits passively.' Veren looked at the tall bullies back, who looked around for some reason.

Veren didn't think anything at first, but as they continued, he began hesitating. He felt like something bad would happen if he continued following the bully.

After arriving at the sports hall, Veren was led to the free area behind it.

"Ha...haha, he is here uncle...! That was the dimwit I was talking about."

Along with the familiar voice, the smell of blood assaulted Veren's senses.

Not long after, Veren saw a body lying beside a tree, evidently dead.

"We bullied him the most in the class, so there are more than enough reasons to wrap it up as his deed!"

An elderly man nodded his head slowly.

The situation slowly dawned at Veren, making his heart fasten instantly.

'I fell into a trap...!'

Veren was aware of the background behind the bully, who was speaking. With their authority, he would definitely be on the weaker side.

'Why! Just why...! Just when I felt like I could overcome my past...!'

Veren's fate seems to dictate misfortune onto him till the end.
