a boy lost between worlds what will he see on the sea of time
" I remeber that day, it was 200 years ago.
that day changed my life...
it was 200 years ago to the day... the longest day of my life. " Teo! the sails are comin undone! ,bellowed Thule. Teo turned and ran to throw himself bodily onto the ruffled mass of the unfurling sail.
Thule! grab the rope! shreikes Two in between grunts. he gripped and grabbed struggling with the losening sail , fighting the wind for control of the misbehaving cloth.
thule scrambled over with a coil of rope and lashed it to the mast and began to tether the sail back to the yardarm. finally the sail with a great crumpled thwump came under the mens control, as the wind tossed the waves and shook the small sailing vessel. hey teo! drawed thule ,"we gonna have a long night ahead of us if this storm dont blow over. teo bobbed his head in agreement. "we better check on theo down in the hold. thule hoisted the door of a hatch and peered down inside "hey theo hows the gear holdin?
a skinny bespectacled young man "theo" stared up from the hull back at thule. " gears all good we had some slippin in the eopes but i got em under control. thule smiled at that , theo with his small frame and small stature was ypungest of the three and a head shorter to boot. at 17 he was the least experianced of all of them yet he still gave it his all. when he fleshed out abit he would make a good deck hand ,but for now he was better suites to below deck.
" glad to hear it kid ! ,looks like foul weather for now so we'll be bunkin down here tonight. the hatch clattered as it hit home in its slot as the two men squeezed themselves into the small hold of the fishing ship. theo struck a match and relit the lone oil lamp that had been blown out when the hatch had been opened.
theo then scrambled back over the crates of bait that littered the hold and made to securing the small cookstove that was used for their evening meals while thule and teo set about starting a game of cards. when he returned with the small stove the two were nose deep in their game , so he busied himself with lighting the stoves oil lamp and searing the strips of cod that he had brought along when he fetches the stove.
thus the night passed into the hours of late as the ship rocked back and forth in tune with the wind and waves.
after dinner and a few games of cards , where teo beat thule handily , the crew of the small ship meandered their way to the hammocks that they had strung between the two sides of the ship. as they drifted into the warm cluthes of sleep the wind that tossed the waves and rocked the ship began a new tune, a sharper tune that bacame a whine as it picked up speed. with the first violent jolt the men awoke. startled at beinv thrown from their hammocks the next jolt smacked them to their senses. theo! light the lamp but keep it low , this storm is getting worse. at this rate we wont be safe here. teo! man the oar on the left ill get the right, we must head to calmer waters or we wont survive!
the men scrambled to the ores as theo yanked on the line that tied their anchor to the sea floor.
theo watch out! screamed teo as a giant wave slammed into the side. but it was too late.
the last i saq was the moon light streaming through the clouds in the stormy sky as i plunged beneath the waves.
coming soon
