35 The Hard-Cutting Truth

"Minji?"

From a distance, I hear a cutting voice that pierces through the white noise around me. It's only then that I decide to look up to see who it is. I find that my eyes barely make the figure the sound is coming from. The only reason I can tell who the voice is coming from is because I've seen them for years.

Seoyun.

"I'm assuming you've heard, huh?"

Just like me, Seoyun couldn't stop crying when she heard of Dahyeong's death. I can tell because of her red, puffy eyes and dried up tears on her face. She carried her bag with one arm, letting it hang to one side while she used her other arm to wipe at the remaining tears pooling in her eyes.

The interaction between Seoyun and me right now is limited at best. Neither of us really want to try to talk. Even still, there's one question I can't get out of my head.

"What happened last night?"

Seoyun let out a small breath, shaking her head and shrugging her shoulders.
