10 Chapter ten

"It's Rosa," I say scared

"Yeah? is that bad?" Kathie asks rubbing my back so I don't have another panic attack. I shake my head.

"I-I no it's not I just....she'll think I'm weak I-I can't do this!" I run-up to my room and close the door. A while after I see someone walk in.

"Come on baby, get out from under there, your mom told me," Rosa says sitting on the bed.

"I-it's stupid I know..you can laugh.." I say softly and slowly crawl out.

"Are you kidding? That's really kind, your care so much about how she feels." Rosa picks me up and holds me close. I lay my head on her a tear rolling down my cheek. She wipes it away.

"No more crying okay?" I give her a small grin.

"There's my shorty" Rosa smiles and kisses me. After talking for a while Sara and Kathie come in. I quickly crawl off of Rosa's lap blushing.

"Oh come on it's okay, your two are cute together," Sara says smiling. I look at Rosa she grins and pulls me back onto her lap.

"How about going out for dinner, you two and us," Kathie says holding Sara's hand.

"Like...a bubble date?" I ask shocked.

"Yeah sure," Sara says smiling more.

"Maybe tomorrow how does that sound?" Kathie says slowly pulling Sara toward the door.

"Sounds perfect," Rosa says smiling. Sara and Kathie leave and me and Rosa cuddle till we fall asleep.

Then, my nightmare starts. My heart starts to be faster and the smell of Steve fills my nose. I roll around and begin to sweat. His words echo in my head. I jolt awake and sit up fast. I look around and look down at Rosa fast asleep.

I get up and go down the stairs I make sure every window is lock I go to the door and see it's open. I lock it and run up to Kathie and Sara's room. I fling open the door now hyperventilating. There they are, cuddling and safe. Sara and Kathie both look at me fast. I lean in the doorway and put my hand on my head tears rolling down my cheeks. Rosa walks to me and grabs my arm.

"Baby, come back to bed, you need to sleep more than anyone here." Rosa's voice is soft and worrisome.

"I-I'm alright just...give me a second..." I sniff and wipe my eyes. I look back and Sara and Kathie. Their faces have softened and they look worried too. I look back at Rosa and run to my room. I slam the door and hold it closed. Rosa, Kathie, and Sara try to open it.

"Baby open the door!" Rosa yells my heart pounds. I back away from the door and slide my hoodie on. Rosa runs in and tackle hugs me. I look at her and she's crying. She holds me closer than she ever has.

"Rosa, I'm okay." I say rubbing her head. I kiss her head and help her up. I get in bed and pull her next to me. I kiss her cheek and go back to sleep.
