1 Chapter 01: A New Beginning

In a massive forest, filled with massive trees and dense foliage being roamed by not so massive bunny's and some deer drinkin' nearby at a river was a small clearing.

A single bunny hopped over the clearing for who knows what reason, probably saw greener grass on the other side. As it was hopping the sky above it suddenly turned back causing the little bunny to look up in fear.

It was frozen stiff with fear as it saw a massive black hole appear above it, the surrounding animals and birds quickly ran away but the poor bunny couldn't move, its body was held in place by some strange force, its little heart threatening to break right out of its chest as it beat at a wild rhythm.

Just as the bunny thought this was the end it saw a figure flying out of the hole, slamming down right in front of it.

Boom*

A tiny crater was left where the figure fell, causing dirt to fly everywhere and even covering the little bunny with it. Opening its eyes, it saw a human man slowly standing up from the crater, not that it knew what a human was.

The man wore a black robe that hung loosely from its fit and muscular body, his silver-white hair hung loosely down his shoulders with some dirt and twigs in them, his face could be said to be quite handsome and its eyes shined with a pale blue and even the dark rings that were below his eyes and the dirt that covered his face could not hide its splendor.

The man stood up to its full height of 1.9 meters and stretched his back and arms as cracking noises could be heard from him.

"That hurt"

The bunny's eyes turned over and it fainted, the last thing it heard was the man's deep voice.

...

After stretching a good bit to relieve some of the stress his body had to endure while going through that hole, Lorthic gave his surrounding a good look.

'A tree...another tree...oh and there's a bush and a tree, wait there is a bunny that fainted and a river too. Yup I'm in a forest'

He sophistically concluded that he was indeed in a forest, though it didn't look familiar to him. He stared at the grass and the numerous plants that dotted the forest bed but could not make head or tails of it. He has never seen these plants before, he was not arrogant enough to say that he had seen every kind of plantation within the world but he could honestly say that he had seen a lot and should have at least recognized one of these plants.

'Wait what's that?'

Lorthic thought as he saw question marks begin to appear above these plants when he looked at them long enough.

'How peculiar'

He thought and then gave his own body a scan to make sure there were no abnormalities.

'Physically I'm fine, but what's that little rune that's inside of my soul.'

Lorthic studied it for some time and concluded that it was a sort of scanning device that measured his body's abilities numerically and displayed it on a certain holographic projection when he called out to it.

After a bit of searching, he found the keyword needed to summon the display and almost slapped himself in the face when he saw what it was.

'System'

He thought in his mind while willing the rune to work and before his eyes, a hologram appeared, with a few tabs.

<Sytem>

<Body>

<Magic>

<Talents>

Evaluation: "..."

...

Lorthic stared at the display for some time rubbing his chin in contemplation.

"Well I have no idea what any of this means"

He stated as he gave the display another glance.

"It's obvious what the Name and race mean, Class, nothing wrong there, thought what the fuck is with this level? What do the rank and tier things mean? Uninjured? sure I just got dropped from a freaking hole in space and left a crater in the ground, how the hell am I not injured I'm bloody sore all over!

This Body and Magic thingy must be the summary of my Physical and magical ability while talents must be my inherent or traits or traits gained from doing certain things. Evaluation, mhhh...probably my overall ability evaluated by the rune or the creator of this rune, which I presume is this world, it's consciousness to be exact, but its evaluation is...strange."

"This rune is ample proof I am no longer within my own world, no other being is able to do something to a soul without its owner knowing other than a world, for it is the harbinger and caretaker of souls that inhabit its surface. A world is a living thing and thus each one is different and each one care's for its inhabitants differently, it would seem this one gifts all its inhabitants this kind of rune to help them grow quicker and more powerful, but why am I included, I should be shunned by this world since I just got here, for it to accept me I would have to live here for many years so why was I immediately accepted?"

Musing over his questions Lorthic decided to explore a bit, there was no need to dwell on things he had no power over so he wouldn't.

After taking a few steps he heard a squeak, looking down he saw he a bunny frantically trying to pull its leg from under his barefoot. He lifted his foot to free the critter and it dashed into the nearest bush as if its tail was on fire.

Lorthic shook his head as he smiled at the scene. Moving on he came to the river and saw numerous fish swimming around inside.

'Might as well get something to eat'

Lorthic made a grasping movement towards a swimming fish and the fish was pulled from the water towards his grasp, he griped the fish in his had to make sure not to let it slip away and with a quick movement of his thumb and forefinger, he broke its neck killing it quickly and painlessly.

After cathing his pray he searched for someplace to make camp and quickly found an abandoned cave of which he presumed was a bear judging from the footprints that entered and exited there but they were very old last one was about a month old from what he could tell. The cave wasn't big, just enough for him to sleep inside and not get wet if it rains.

He gathered some dry branches with which he builds a campfire with stones lining around it to make sure the fire doesn't spread. Snapping his fingers a small fire appeared on his thumb and with a wave of his hand, it flew towards the dry wood, instantly igniting it.

Using a slightly longer stick Lorthic pieced the fish with it after he had gutted and cleaned it, he then stuck the stick into the ground at an angle so that the fish on the other side was close enough to the fire to get roasted but not too near so that it doesn't get burned.

Turning the fish every few minutes to make sure it was equally cooked the fish was finished in no time and though he didn't have any spices he enjoyed the fish very much.

After eating Lorthic went inside the cave and cleaned it a bit before lying down on the uneven stone floor to sleep.

'Hopefully, I can find a proper bed soon'

Lorthic thought not wanting to have to sleep on the floor again after having gotten used to a life of luxury, or at least a life with a working bed.
