Chapter 1: The Beginning

I can't believe this is happening to me. I can't belive it one bit. Hello my fellow classmates my name is Charlie. I am 17 years old and I have been best friends with James for 4 years now. I know what your thinking no guy and girl can stay best friends for that long. I have known him since he was in 7th grade and I was in 8th. Believe it or not the news that I am about to tell you is not only going to change the way we behave around one another but the way he treats me from now on..... Here is how it all started:

*Charlie's House*

My alarm clock goes off at 6:45 in the morning. I am not the type of person to wake up in the morning, not a morning person. Its the middle of 8th grade year and I am going to leave my guy best friend. He means everything to me. I don't know how he feels towards me though since he is always with some girl.

Don't get me wrong. I don't mind if he has girlfriends, I become friends with them and not only be nice to them I am making sure no one is going to hurt him. I care about him, and I secretly want him to be my boyfriend he just doesn't know it....yet.

My older sister was in 8th grade with me as well. We would always have our own little group of friends. She had hers and I had mine. Sometimes at lunch we would sit together. Since James was a grade below me he would sit on the other half of the cafeteria, but that didn't stop him from sitting next to me....which I was perfectly fine with but the other kids he hung around with that were in my grade would snitch on him and they would make him leave, but when he sits with them they don't say anything.

I get it they would only snitch if he wasn't sitting with them. I was fine with it, he had other friends than just me but he only had one girl best friend. To me he was special to me and having that type of relationship with him was unique in my book.

*School Starts*

C- Hey girls

B,A,A,- Hey Charlie

Angel- So Charlie were you able to talk to your boyfriend...I mean best friend *giggles*

Charlie- Really Angel, it's too early for that right now...speaking of which *looks at the entrance of the hallway and sees him*

Becky- C, I would close your mouth if I were you, you wouldn't want to catch flies...*smirks*

Alexis- Come on girls, Leave her alone, as Charlie said it's to early for this shit

Angel- Fine, you don't know how to have fun

Charlie- I do know how to have fun, not being made fun of is the difference

Becky- So are you going to ask him out today?? or chicken out like you normally do

Charlie- Do we have to talk about this, I mean don't get me wrong.....he is fine asf, but how bout we talk about this at lunch....

*Becky, Angel, and Alexis start to smile*

Charlie- *confused* What are you guys smiling about, Just because I don't want to talk about how cute and fine my best friend is, and knowing that he probably doesn't feel the same way doesn't mean to start at me like a deer in headlights!!

Alexis- *nervous* ughh, C, you might want to turn around

Charlie- *confused* Why??

Angel- Just turn around damn it

So Charlie turns around and finds out her best friend has been standing there the entire time, hearing what she said about him....

Charlie-*nervous* ughh, Hey James, we were just talking about you

James-All good things I hope *smirks*

Charlie- OFC, there's nothing but good things *smiles*

James- Can i talk to you for a min???

Charlie- *bits her lip* ughh, sure I guess, you girls don't mind *looks at the gang*

Angel, Becky, Alexis- No

Angel- Don't worry about us, you go along we will see you at lunch later

*Angel, Becky, and Alexis walk off to their first period class*
