2 Colors

Jin woke up inside the darkness in a groggy state.

'Huh?...'

His body felt heavy and restricted, it was as if he was stuck inside the depths of a swamp. Even his thoughts felt weighed down.

Jin tried his best to lift his head and move his limbs around but despite his efforts, he could barely get them to wiggle.

And this act felt like it took all the energy he had inside him away and felt like he would pass out again.

'Ugh...'

As he fell asleep again, he heard various sounds and mumbles ring throughout his surroundings

He had repeated this step of waking up and falling back asleep with each time granting him a slight bit more energy, though he was still within the darkness of his surroundings he could make out the sounds he had been hearing were voices of people.

Wherever they were, it was outside this space of darkness.

He had tried his best to call out for help but he had realized he could not make a sound.

Time passed, unknown as to how long it had been since he had first awoken as a day came when a ray of light pierced into his darkness.

He felt a force, maybe a current, that pushed him towards this light without him having to waste his own energy.

The light became brighter and brighter and soon, all of the darkness had faded away.

He felt the sensation of something furry covering his body as for the first time since awakening in the darkness, he 'saw'.

!?

'Are these...Colors?'

Jin had opened his eyes to view his surroundings, and the first thing that caught his attention was that he could see.

He could see the colors.

Though he couldn't quite distinguish which color was which at first, it was an emotional sight nonetheless as he gazed at a certain color that covered a small statue of what seemed like a dragon that seemed to have mesmerized him.

He then heard an indistinguishable language from above as he turned to look and realized there were many people in the room.

(It's a boy! And seems very healthy, though I worry that there is something wrong with its brain.) Voices from a woman above him rang out.

She was an older woman, with very soft features and kind eyes. She had short and curly hair and he was wearing a dress that looked too heavy for her frail shoulders. This was the person that was currently holding onto him.

He then realized he was covered in some sort of animal fur. Though it was a bit prickly it was warm.

(Hmm...) He then saw a man standing near this woman who had been gazing into him the whole time.

It was a man with rigid features and many scars on his arms. He was wearing some sort of leather vest and a long strap to hold his long hair back.

And he was very loud.

(Ah... That's okay, as long as he is fine. Please, bring him to me.) A female's voice could be heard from behind as well but he could not get his head to turn.

Then Jin felt his body being moved towards the location of the voice.

And at this point he realized the size difference between his own body and theirs.

'I...I'm a baby?'

As he was laid down next to a tired-looking woman, he looked up at her as she gazed back at him with a smile.

(Welcome to our family my child...)

'Mother...?'

Jin instinctively realized that this person was his mother and was confused beyond reason. He started to deduce various things that was happening.

One, he had somehow become a baby. This was the most troubling issue. After all, he had various responsibilities he had to make sure to accomplish. Such as work, rent and feeding his fish.

Two, this 'mother' was a stranger he had never met. Though he felt some form of instinctive fondness for this woman, it didn't change the fact that he had never seen her before.

Three, the clothing these people were wearing seemed to be that of the older days he had read in history class back in though there were some differences.

Four, he could not understand these people. This mostly likely meant that these people were not speaking English but neither were they speaking a language that he had heard before.

Five, colors.

As Jin was breaking down his current issues in order, his 'mother' seemed to have fallen asleep after giving birth to him as he was returned to the hands of the older woman.

She then caressed his head and a strange sense of warmth flow into his body.

It flowed through his body and quickly escaped back to her hands atop his head.

(He seems fine, I cannot find anything wrong with his body. Perhaps its a personality issue? I can't be sure since this is a first.) The old woman spoke out again, despite still being indistinguishable to Jin.

Jin noticed the distress in the eyes of the woman as he realized the fact that he had not cried out like a baby should when it was born unless something was wrong with the baby.

"Wa....Wah..." He tried his best to imitate the cries of a baby as he spoke a bit for the first time ever since he had woken up in the darkness.

'Ah, that was probably the womb... But how did I... Nevermind.'

Maybe this was all a dream.

But maybe not.

The actual process of him having somehow transferred into the body of a baby inside someone's womb was the part that troubled him.

Oh and everything that was happening right now as well but that's an issue for future Jin.

(Hahaha, what a pathetic cry.) The man next to him started to laugh.

(Oh stop it, as long as he's healthy that's all that matters.) The old woman smacked the man's arms as she seemed to be scolding him.

'Hmm... It seems for now, I will need to learn more about my current situation.' Jin deduced.

And learn more about this strange language as well.

If I am able to communicate, I will be able to ask questions. With questions there will be answers.

One step at a time.

Jin cleared his head of the issues that had been troubling him and looked around, re-mesmerized by the vibrant 'colors' in his eyes.

Ah... he would have to learn colors as well. That'll be another step.
