27 Phoenix Blood

At the morning, Leon and team got up and started their advance with the same line-up. While Leon was killing the monsters he could feel that his soul artifact becoming stronger and stronger. After Leon killed the monsters, he would ask Theo about the system world. He knew a few things but he didn't have general knowledge about political, religious and social life.

Theo didn't mind that Leon was a world traveler. He said there were a lot of world traveler coming to the system world. Theo thought Leon about general social life to him. Theo told him that there was a religion which was widely accepted among humans. Temple of Obligation, Leon thought there wouldn't be religious organization seeing that if you were strong you could extend your lifespan thus believing to an afterlife wouldn't be practical. But after Leon learned their doctrines he changed his mind.

The doctrine states that in order to prove yourself you can only kill from different races and the world had to see which race better than others. Leon also heard that one wouldn't gain strength from killing someone as same race as you were. The temple of obligation was saying this doctrine and believed that humans were superior to other races.

Leon could ruffly understand why the system wouldn't give strength after killing among same races. If it did give, there wouldn't be social order thus development of the worlds habitants would stop. But the temple of obligation was using this to gain followers and making it war of races. But from what he learned from Theo, the people who believe this religion wasn't fanatics, there were some fanatics who would kill any race as they saw but they weren't that much. Leon wasn't that optimistic about that, Firstly he wasn't a human, secondly believing to a religion which would encourage to kill wouldn't make things easier.

Religions were born from needs so was the temple of obligation. They encourage to kill other races but they were punishing the ones who kill someone from the same race. The temple of obligation wasn't unique, it also had variations in any race who lived in the system world. They had the same doctrine but they were hostile to each other. If they weren't, it would be a miracle.

Leon as always clearing the monsters and the rest was waiting from afar for him to finish. After Leon killed the seventh boss who was a troll, they came and Heinz opened the chest. Inside there was equipments but the real reward was the blood inside of the vial. The blood was hot and looking like it was boiling and the color was red with shade of gold.

Theo was going to use it to be reborn so he wouldn't need much of it, but still Leon could tell that after Theo used, there would be enough to make five bloodline warrior. Leon didn't need much, he only wanted to take for one person.

After dividing Leon got three share from the blood and the rest was on Theo. Leon put the vial in his inventory and watched Theo who was looking at the blood with hope.

Theo who was looking at the vial with hope opened the cork with resolution and drank the blood. It was painful to swallow but Theo didn't opened his mouth from fear that he would spit out the blood. It burned his mouth but Theo swallowed it and crunched to the ground spasming. Leon could emphasize with him because he also passed through something like that. Theo was on the ground and his skin turned red from heat of the blood he was bleeding from all of his pores, Heinz and Cole was looking at him with concern but they didn't dare to close up to him, fretting that they would interrupt the process.

Leon could hear that there was sizzling sound coming from Theo after that there was a cracking sound with Theo's painful scream. Theo was sweating blood and crying blood. This wasn't a bloodline acceptance but a rebirth, so every corner of his body that wasn't healthy and imperfect would be discarded and the new parts would be born.

After two hours, Theo's screams died out and he was breathing faintly showing that he was still alive but the worst part passed and he only needed gather himself up. He was exhausted from rebirth so Leon pulled a pill from his bag and put it in Theo's mouth. Theo didn't know what kind of pill it was but he still swallowed it thinking if Leon wanted to hurt him he wouldn't wait this much. After swallowing the pill, Theo felt energized and slowly got up then he bowed his head as thanks to Leon.

"You got what you want but I'm curious, has your inability cured?" asked Leon and jokingly added "If not you have still more."

Theo weakly smiled and shook his head.

"I'll look if it was cured." saying that, Theo sat down and closed his eyes. Leon could see that fire attributed mana was gathering around Theo and they were entering his body and this continued for a few minutes and Theo opened his eyes with joy.

"I can gather mana." said Theo smiling and there was tears gathering on the corners of his eyes. Heinz and Cole were also thrilled.

"Congratulations young master. Now you are cured, you could vie for the position."

"Congratulations young master, you can hold your head high."

Leon didn't interrupt them, after their euphoria passed and they calmed down.

"Now you've cured, what is the plan?" asked Leon, he was still curious what was the rewards for killing bosses from now on. He was sure that he could find more valuable resources and treasures if he were to go deeper into the this city-dungeon. He might even finish his body tempering in this dungeon for Leon it was an alluring thought.

Hearing Leon's question, Theo thought a bit and said;

"Now I can gather mana, I can vie for the position but father was planning to appoint the next head a year later so I don't have any plans for the next six month."

Hearing that Leon shared his plans about the dungeon. They didn't oppose Leon because he was fighting alone and Leon also said that he would give a few things that he didn't need to them. Leon was thinking to make an ally in nobility of the system world so of course he would give a few bribe to them.

After deciding that they would go further into the dungeon, Leon gave a pill to Theo. Theo newly got rid of his inability and Leon noticed that he was gathering fire attributed mana so he gave him a pill with abundant fire mana in it to sped up his mana cultivation. Theo firstly rejected but Leon insisted for him to take it saying that he could pay back when he got the position of the next marquis.

"Thank you for everything you have done, I promise that I would pay back hundred fold when I got the position."

["That what I'd like to hear."] thought Leon but he nodded with smile.
