Chapter 027

Alvin ran his fingers across the silver broadsword. Its effects seemed to be that of Sequence 9 of the Warrior Pathway, increased physical strength and mastery of weapons. But it was very well crafted, both in terms of appearance and function without severe negative effects.

Also, in the hilt, there seemed to be a bunch of messy lines scribbled. But on closer look, it seemed to spell the English characters "Sword of Culling"

Alvin was determined to have this sword as soon as he laid his eyes on it. Sinsest showed him the sword as a potential bait, and he paid 1500 pounds for it. He also requested Sinsest to wear his Null Mask and sell him the sword in a Beyonder gathering.

He then attended the gathering in a resemblance to the target of his assassination and purchased the sword in plain sight.

He had two objectives in doing this. One, he could make Vincent have some antagonistic thoughts towards his actual target. While his disguise would not fool any veterans, he had been observing the prey named Vincent. He was highly self-conscious and proud, and had been enchanted by the new world in front of him. He had probably not digested the Assasin potion completely, as Alvin observed him tethering on the brink of losing control. This was provable by the fact that he couldn't control his facial expressions and temper, which Instigators should easily be able to do. He was probably unable to act effectively as an Assasin, and the Demoness Sect just wanted him to consume the Witch potion for them to complete their objective, hence they did not care about this.

It was quite easy to prod him against his target from the Church of Combat without much effort.

Secondly, he wanted his target, Heldium to know that someone was impersonating him, and had a beautiful sword. His arrogance and pride would not allow him to stay silent, and he would come after the buyer. Alvin could use this to his advantage if the circumstances permit.

But the sword itself was special. Other than the name, there was a bunch of other lines carved on it. It looked like a map, and also some scribbling in Chinese. As Alvin does not know the language, he had to wait until Klein reincarnated, and attempt to try and have 'The Fool' translate it. Maybe he could get some treasure that Roselle left behind.

He had planned a few more provocations at both Vincent and Heldium, with the objective of driving them out into the open.

Alvin then removed the disguise he had worn to look like the likeliness of Heldium and wore the Null Mask Sinsent had left on the table, and swiftly exited the bar.

"Mistress, the fool is trying to commission the Order to assassinated someone" said Kate to a shadowy mirror.

"Who is the target?" asked a voice from beyond the mirror.

"Unsure at the moment, mistress. There was a gorgeous sword for sale at a Beyonder gathering. He tried to buy it, but was outbid due to the lack of cash. The buyer taunted him a little, and this fool nearly lost control. I injected him with the potion to calm him down. I tried to scare him off by quoting an amount of 5000 pounds, but he still wants to go through with it" said Kate looking annoyed.

"Tell him that it will be done. You can gather information about the target" said the figure in the mirror.

"Forgive me mistress, but is it worth offending an unknown enemy over this fool?" asked Kate.

"We have lost a lot due to the previous incident. 5000 pounds is a needed sum. And we are Assasin's by nature, aren't we? What's wrong with performing an Assassination for a client? And the fool needs to be kept happy for a while. As soon as he drinks the Witch potion, you can dispose of him. Bring the Beyonder Characteristics back" said the figure.

"As you command mistress. Glory be to the Primordial Goddess" said Kate, as she wiped the mirror in front of her. The shadow faded, and the mirror looked normal again.

Kate walked out of the room, to see Vincent looking for her.

"He seems to be a Sequence 7 Beyonder who is famous around here. He likes antique weapons and running his mouth" said Vincent as she came near him.

"Where did you get that from?" she asked.

"Hehe, I have my sources" said Vincent smugly. Kate shrugged and said, "The Order has accepted the commission. That idiot will be dead by tomorrow. Transfer the 5000 pounds into the account of the order within today" said Kate. "I will go and collect some information of my own. Remember to digest the Instigator potion well" Saying this, she left without even looking at Vincent

Vincent looked at her back with a mixture of rage, resentment, lust, and excitement. The hideous look on his face calmed down, as he started thinking about the instigation he would do today. Then, a wretched smile came on his face.

Elsewhere, in a bar full of rather burly Feysacians, everyone was either drinking or dead drunk. One such burly man appeared to be elegantly sipping the beer in his hands. But his burly frame and oversized mug only made the sight hilarious.

A bartender came to him and slipped him a piece of paper. The man squinted his eyes and read the paper. He then loudly snorted, as he slammed his mug down.

"Looks like some smartass is provoking me. Coward. If he wanted a fight, he could have come in front of me and asked. I am going to find him and rip him to shreds. I will add his skull and the supposedly gorgeous sword to my collection" yelled the burly man.

He then looked at the bartender and said, "Keep an eye out for this joker. If you find any sign of him, keep an eye out and immediately inform me. I will go over and cut his head "said the burly man.

"Yes, Sir Heldium" said the bartender, as he went to the back of the tavern.
