411 The Guiding Hand Behind the Scenes.

The inky-black sky was filled with thousands of moons. They varied in both colors and sizes– some were red, distant, and as small as a coin, while others were blue, close, and large enough to rival a planet. There was no rhyme or rhythm to the arrangement of the moons. They were simply there. And they were watching him.

All of the moons possessed a pair of ink-black eyes. And they all watched Lucius unblinkingly.

Abruptly sitting up, he hurriedly scanned his vicinity. 

A few rocky outcrops lay sparsely here and there. Short, olive-colored grass covered the ground. A rise in elevation here, and a shallow pit there, small empty hills filled the area. A decent distance away tall, black trees formed the everglades. All in all, his surroundings were as plain as they were eerie.

Lucius, however, did not think so.

"No..." he absentmindedly let out. "No, no, no, no, no..." Panic began to infect his mind.
