1 Chapter 1

"Guys! I'll see you tomorrow!"

A young man about twenty-one years of age waved at his college friends as they strode out of the faculty building after a long day at the library.

"You too, ChenChen!"

Full of youthful vigor, the rowdy group of eight comprising of six lads and two pretty girls began walking the street at 6:30p.

"Get some sleep and let's meet up to do a final round of studying!"

"What! Haven't we done enough reading already? What more could it be that we haven't already covered!"

"Hey! Fattybai! There is no harm in studying extra, what if the lecturer flips the table and brings out something that we may have overlooked from the textbook!"

"Lyn! You are too paranoid! Blue! Say something!"

The younger of the pretty girl who went by the name Lyn, bit hard on her bottom lips with nerves.

"Yes, Blue say something! Do we really need to study tomorrow morning? For crying out the exam is by 9am! We sure as hell don't have that much time to spare when we come in by 8am!"

The other girl whose nickname was Blue simply shrugged her shoulders. The message was clear she didn't want to be bothered by their bickering.

"Let's drop it, okay? It's cool if no one wants to study before class."

Levelheaded and smart to the bones, Yu Chen's charisma quickly won over his group of friends. The octo group were a lively bunch in casual wear.

"See you tomorrow...I'm so tired...."

Short and rounded, Yu Chen yawned tiredly at his friends.

"Bye!"

"Yeah, ChenChen see you in class!"

"Wait guys, does that mean that no group study before exam?"

The girl who went by Lyn asked her group of friends once again to gain clarity of the situation.

"Drop it Lyn, while I'm still in a nice mood!"

"Stop fighting, see you tomorrow!"

In a hurry to get away from the fight that he sensed would happen, Yu Chen waved at his friends while walking backwards.

"Watch out!"

"Oh no! What the hell!"

"ChenChen! There is a bike behind you!"

"ChenChen!!!!!!"

That was the last thing that Yu Chen heard, before a loud crashing sound came close to his ears.

"BAM!"

"His escaping! That man is running away!"

"Call the police!"

"Police?! Are you kidding me?! He needs an ambulance! Dammit!"

Seven additional pairs of feet rushed to where a wounded Yu Chen laid by the hard asphalt road.

"I can't do this! I-I just can't do this! YAAAAA!!!!"

A female college student started to shriek at the sight of her friend covered in blood.

"I think Lyn is freaking out!"

"Are we moving him?!"

"No, dumbass if we move him, I saw that on one medical show that if you do that the person's chance of survival could be cut by more than half!"

"Wait, are you suggesting we leave ChenChen on the road to get run over by some crazy motorist?!"

"..."

"Blue, do something!"

"Why me? Can't any of you guys do shit! Is it because we are both females? You have got to be a bunch of knuckleheads!"

"Not you too! Blue, we need you to take Lyn out of here! Like now!"

The tomboy boy of the group and fierce in character, the girl Blue grudgingly grabbed the hand of Lyn to do as told.

"They are here! The medics!"

Onlooker began giving way for the men that carried a long stretcher out of the ambulance.

Not waiting for the stretcher to fully touch the ground, one of the young lads gripped his arms tightly as he spoke to them.

"It was a hit and run! ChenChen was struck by a lunatic!"

"You are?"

"I'm LinLin and these are my friends.... we are all friends...ChenChen too!"

In a high-pitched voice that shook with fear, the tall bespectacled college boy began to cry.

"This is so embarrassing! Stop it LinLin! Man up!"

Away from the eyes of the humans that surrounded Yu Chen, a dark force crept into the warm body that was actively bleeding on a cold night.

"Bloody hell! Where am I?!"
