1 Uniform

"Here, it's the uniform for the chambermaids." A middle aged woman said tossing a neatly folded pair of dress into the hands of a girl who stood in front of her.

"Thank you so much Miss Beth. I will never forget this favor in a hurry." The girl said to the middle aged woman who was Miss Beth.

"It's fine. I couldn't let my deceased friend's daughter be jobless. You're still such a young soul yet you lost your only family. I just couldn't see you suffer.... And your mother was my friend so it's only right I help you." Miss Beth explained.

"Thank you so much Miss Beth." The girl thanked again with a complicated emotion.

"It's okay, now go to the servant's quarters and change into the uniform. Also, work starts today and you'll be staying in the servant's quarters for today since it's late already. You can go back to your hut tomorrow if you want." Miss Beth said and tapped her shoulder gently and added "Be strong Ama, your mother would have told you the same thing." Saying that, she walked out leaving the girl standing there alone and holding the uniform like a lost soul without destination.

Finally, she walked to the directed servant's quarters.

"Who are you?" A girl asked as soon as she saw Ama walk into the servant's quarters.

"Amabella or Ama for short."

"I didn't ask for your name moron." The girl replied sending Ama a glare.

"I'm a new servant, a chambermaid to be precise and I'm in no way a moron." Ama replied the girl who seemed to be a troublesome person.

"Did you get an approval by the Lady of the mansion herself?"

"I don't in anyway know what you're talking about... Vivian." Ama blurted.

"How did you know my name?" Vivian asked.

Right!! How did you know her name? Ama asked herself. She had planned to say that she didn't know what Vivian was talking about but she had instinctively blurted out her name.

This was a strange ability that Ama had come to discover since she lost her parents two weeks ago. She remembered she cried for a whole week and people often came to console her. She didn't know how, but she somehow knew the people with good intentions and bad. What was stranger was that she could somehow read people's minds if she concentrated. It only happened once though. But what was even more strange was that she only started experiencing it when her parents died.

"I just heard someone call Vivian when I was coming so I assumed it was you. If you'll excuse me, I'll leave now." Without waiting for a reply, Ama left to change into the uniform.

*******

Coming out of the bathroom, Ama looked down at the uniform she just wore as if wanting to know how the dress looked on her. But her eyes couldn't wander too far to see the whole dress.

She saw how it looked a little free from her waist to stop below her knee and tight from her waist upward because of the outer corset attached to it.

The shoulder part of the sleeve were a little bit puff and it only seems to her that the maids of the mansion do enjoy luxury as well.

I mean.... If the uniform of the chambermaids could be this beautiful, then what about the clothes for the Ladies and the Lords?

The uniform even, was made with thick cotton textile and seem to have been stitched by a great seamstress.

The only thing that bothered her was the low neckline of the dress which was showing the upper roundness of her bosom.

She didn't know if this was okay. But what can she do though?

Miss Beth was her mother's friend before she died and used to work in the mansion of the Lord of Seville as a head chef. With her influence, she was able to offer Ama a job of a chambermaid in the mansion.

Ama was glad that she wasn't jobless and alone now in the little hut of her parents and she will infact be able to earn money for herself now.

"Hey Vivian." Ama called, coming out of the servant's quarters to see Vivian walking forward. She wanted to ask her for the direction to the kitchen even though Ama knew she was troublesome.

There was no one else afterall...

Her bright blue eyes stared up at Vivian who had now stopped walking "Please can you show me the way to the kitchen?"

Vivian didn't reply but instead studied Ama from head to toe before commenting "It seems as though you are going to work as a prostitute instead of a chambermaid in that outfit or rather in the way it fits and is clunging to your body right now. Can you not get one of a larger size or have you taken a personal liking to this piece of cloth?"

"It's okay Vivian if you do not like me or if you are having troubles with my presence but can you please show me the way to the kitchen?"

If it was possible, Ama would have gotten a cotton and cleaned Vivian's ears very well so that she could listen to her and just show her the kitchen already.

"Fine! Come with me I was heading there anyways." Vivian turned and walked to the direction she was going before and Ama could only follow her.

They got to a passage that appeared to be slightly dark as the sun was already setting outside making inside the mansion dark as well.

She could see maids around lighting up the candles and lantern and the chandeliers to make the mansion bright.

Taking a slight turn, Ama and Vivian finally reached the large kitchen. Large enough to be the home of five people in the village in Seville.

She saw dozens of maids in a different uniforms, walking, chopping, stirring and finally her eyes landed on Miss Beth who seemed like she was tasting some already served food while an elderly looking man stood behind her. He seemed like the Butler.

Vivian who was beside her, walked to Miss Beth and whispered something into her ears making Miss Beth to look up at her.

"Ama... Did you gain weight? How come the uniform is so tight on you? The lady of the mansion wouldn't be pleased seeing the dress so tight." Vivian must have told Miss Beth and probably added her own lie.

"No! Miss Beth. I didn't gain weight at all." Ama replied looking down at her own self. She was neither too slim nor fat right now. She was sure she didn't gain weight maybe even lost weight.

Ama was blessed with enough feminine features and a beautiful face. The most enchanting thing about her was her bright blue eyes and her dauntless confidence.

"There's no dress of a bigger size than this. I think it's because of your bust" Miss Beth said again. "Just leave it! Lily! Show her the cleaning tools and Lord Dorian's chamber. Make sure to clean it properly. I trust you though." Miss Beth smiled slightly at Ama.

"Thank you Miss Beth." Ama bowed slightly and turned to the Butler and bowed too before following the girl, Lily.

The Butler seeing the girl bow and leave, turned to Miss Beth and asked;

"Do you think she is someone trustable?"

"Yes Logan! Lord Dorian has put enough trust in me to find a trustable person to clean his chamber. I am no fool to break such life worthy trust by bringing just any peasant who might have been sent by his enemies. Amabel is like a child to me. She's a good girl and I trust her." Miss Beth replied going back to tasting the food which will be served as dinner for the Lord of Seville and his family. "Here.. take it ... I'm done."
