12 ZEHN

I dashed to the restroom; what does that jerk intend to do? Also, how does he perceive himself? Hugging me from behind, we appear to be a-No! This does not seem right, and I am about to fall right into an illusion, so why bother?

What are our plans? I should also mention that I need to dress appropriately for the occasion. As far as my thoughts went, I was already naked. Let me put on my robe and ask him.

"Hey, where are we going, by the way? I need to at least dress appropriately," he said as he sat at the breakfast bar, holding a can of beer from my refrigerator. He was dressed in black paddocks, black breeches, a blue polo shirt, and a black vest. Are we carrying out the action or something? I need to know what we are going to do. "What are we going to do?"

He looked at me first, then up and down. Is there something wrong with this? It was only then that I realized it was because of my robe. It is a furry white robe large enough to cover my entire body.

"Are you planning something? It looks like we will have to stay here today," he said, tempted to look at me. He then walked straight at me, forcing me to back up until I was forced into a corner. I was trapped between his arms, unable to escape; he was about to lean forward as I pushed his chest. "What?"

I gave him a serious look. I cannot give in to temptation, and I am already in sin for being with him and giving him that hug. Because of our system, I am also unable to disobey him. At the very least, I need to distance myself. He gave me a serious look, then burst out laughing.

"You were about to cry; I was teasing you, then this happens?" he narrated. "I was removing some glitter or whatever you call it on your face, probably from the gown you wore. Mei?"

"You are a jerk..." I stormed off to the restroom. WHY DID I RUN? I cannot even look him in the eyes anymore. I hurriedly showered and went to my dressing room. "Mei?"

I heard a knock, and it was Theodore. "As for your question, we are going to the Lord's Stable, and I have an engagement with the Chevalier," he explained, still refusing to open the door. What? Why do I need to be there if we go to the Lord's Stable? Furthermore, if it is the Lord's Stable, we will go horseback riding. "The former noble lord needs to see if my abilities are still intact."

I have never ridden a horse, I may be in a good mood right now. "Uhm, My Lord, I don't have the attire to wear, I suppose, I don't have any experience, and so I'm afraid I'll stay here; besides, I'm not needed there; I beg your pardon." I honestly explained, "A chauffeur will pick you up, and I am running late," he explained monotonously. I could hear his footsteps slowing down. Is he going to leave? I need to say my goodbyes; I need to gather my thoughts.

I wore an embroidered dress in a creamy color with lace details, a v-neckline with pearl details on the center front, long sleeves, and it fell at least 2 inches below my knees. I slipped into my white sandal heels. I dashed to the driveway, no makeup or other details on my face, just my dress and all.

There was no one else there as if it were a ghost town. Theodore's car was nowhere to be found. Was he enraged? Did I make another mistake? If this is the case, please accept my apologies.

I want to call him, but I do not have his phone number. Did he say he would send a chauffeur to pick me up? If that is the case, I should fix it myself because they could arrive at any time.

I then went to the dressing room, fixed myself, and did my makeup naturally; I am sure I will sweat today. I was about to grab my white vintage baguette when I heard a doorbell at the front. When I opened the door, these men stood in black, just like at graduation.

"Greetings! The Noble Lord requested your presence at the Stable, and we have been directed to pick you up here; you are Miss Mei Chen. The Secretary of the Speaker in the House of Commons." A middle-aged man who appeared to be some butler approached. "Certainly, Sir."

"Please do not address me as Sir; I am not a knight after all," he replied. "Pardon me, Mister?"

"Smith, pleasure to meet you; my name is Hannes Smith, the right man of your Lordship," we said as we shook hands, "Shall we go?"

"It is indeed my pleasure," I said as he led me into a limousine. The royals genuinely are on another level. Until I spoke, there was silence. "Mister Smith, why is your Lordship asking me to come here?" he asked, puzzled.

"I prefer not to respond to that, Miss Chen; I suggest you ask The Noble Lord himself." He smiled. "Excuse me for being impolite, but is my attire appropriate for horseback riding?"

"Do you expect the Lordship to give you a ride? You are not supposed to ride horses; you look like a summer girl attending a picnic, so please rest assured." I nodded as I hid in shame. I am back to assuming things that are not supposed to be assumed. We arrived at the Stable after a few minutes. "I understand,"

I was greeted by a lush carpet of green that covered the ground, surrounded by a forest of trees. There was a fountain in the center.

The west wing of the Stable had a gate that I assume leads to where the horses are. The other side had benches and rooms for people to stay.

The race track and an open field with obstacles surrounded the fountain. In addition, I saw him in there. He rode the horse like he was the best jockey in the world.

He looked like a Knight saving her Lady. As soon as he saw me, he directed the horse in my direction. I am getting butterflies in my stomach.z
