22 Chapter 22

Yami came leisurely jogging at the main gates and was surprised to see an Uchiha there. He had usual stoic face with pitch black eyes and hair which were signature of a member of Uchiha clan.

From the attitude of other chunin and few genin ninja , Yami could see that he was the captain of this team mission. Yami did not see any Uchiha ninja in the village before expect few genins so he was little surprised.

" Greetings captain. " Yami politely greeted him and only heard a snort in response. It looks like this captain was suffering from upset stomach because he was annoyed constantly from some reason..

After three more chunin joined them, the group immediately departed for the borders with the land of wind. Yami was clearly bored as he was just handed over a big backpack filled with scrolls and ordered to run in the middle of the group. He could only sigh as only genin like him were carrying all the stuff while other higher ranking ninja were chatting while keeping sharp eye on the surroundings.

The journey would be at least five days long considering this running pace so Yami wanted some enemies to ambush them at least once on the way because that way he could alleviate his boredom a little. He was not disappointed as an enemy group really attacked in the middle of their short rest on the fourth day since the start of the mission.

Thick sharp needles and kunai came pouring down with great numbering in thousands suddenly. Three Konoha chunin died in this first surprise assault of the enemy quickly.

" Quick.. form a circle formation and protect the genins. Damn.. how did our route got leaked ?.. " the Uchiha captain did not have his usual indifference now because already had activated his sharingan and stood ready with a sharp kunai in his right grip.

Yami felt little excitement because he had already activated his S rank sensor skilll and could sense twenty enemies surrounding them. They did not even bother hiding their presence now at all.

' Suiton - Rain of Water needles.'

Yami shourd inside his mind as he completed thirteen hand seals in just three seconds. Immediately the moisture in the air distorted and in few seconds thousands of sharp ten cm long water needles condensed in the air.

' Go..'

Yami ignored the gasps from his allies and used his sensor skill to lock on enemy locations before firing the water needles at them. He managed to insta kill nine enemies who must be chunin rank from their chakra signature. As expected of the might and speed of an A rank jutsu. Only two enemies managed to repel the water needles while rest of them suffered from heavy stab wounds..

Yami was impressed with the reaction speed of the Uchiha captain as he managed to shrug his confusion away and killed seven injured enemies swiftly in these few seconds. Damn Uchiha really had great sense for battles..

The Konoha genin were frozen from shock while the chunin looked at the fast flow of battle in awe and some fear. They had experienced their share of battles already so they handled themselves way better than the genins.

Even though Yami had used an A rank jutsu right now , his chakra reserves were nowhere near empty so he immediately used swift release body Flicker to immediately appear behind one of the two jonin class enemies who was retreating more than seventy meters away from Yami's location before.

Swift release caused the speed of normal body Flicker jutsu to increase for three more times. So Yami who had already trained his body to mid jonin level , instantly covered the seventy meters distance like nothing. The Suna jonin died with shock apparent in his eyes because he did not even feel the enemy's presence before his heart got pierced from the vulnerable back..

In the meantime, Uchiha Toru ( captain of this mission ) had already started engaging the remaining jonin and one chunin enemy along with Konoha chunins who had long ago regained their spirits after watching the fast response and killings of Yami.

The battle was settled in next forty two seconds as the enemies were all dead . Uchiha Toru suffered more one long shoulder wound and few smaller cuts but none of them were fatal. Except for the three chunin who died at the start , Konoha's side had no other causalities thanks to Yami's instant response and great battle prowess which were no less than that of a jonin.
