Poison Spreads

Third Pov:

A crowd was surrounding a wooden board. Everyone was trying to read what was taped on it. "Ay, move it," ZiNuo said as he walked through the crowd with YuHan beside him. "Yin Sect's annual event," ZiNuo read.

"Winter is going to end and spring will come! What a nice event to start off!" an old man shouted.

"You really think it's a good event?" someone asked.

"I heard there's a beast that roams throughout Yin Sect's forest. It isn't a good idea to enter this event without a high level amount of sword skills and cultivation," a young voice shouted.

"Well this is the only event that Yin Sect allows commoners to get into their sect," the old man spoke as he stroked his beard.

"Bai Gongzi, this doesn't seem fun, let's get out of here," ZiNuo said, grabbing YuHan out of the crowd. YuHan had a stronger grip on ZiNuo so ZiNuo had to follow YuHan. They walked to a long line where people were signing up for something. YuHan let go of ZiNuo's hand and lined up. "What are we doing here?" ZiNuo asked.

"Signing up."

"Whatever you want." When it was YuHan's turn, he grabbed the writing brush and started to write his name down. ZiNuo watched YuHan write, Mo Chenyue, YuHan took his thumb and smeared red ink on it, then placing his thumb on the paper.

"Thank you for signing up for the Yin Sect's annual event. I hope we'll be able to see you after the event," the male sitting on the chair said. YuHan walked away and ZiNuo quickly wrote his name down, running to catch up to YuHan.

When night fell, YuHan returned to his hotel room and looked at his injury. He used a wet cloth to wipe the blood off, then using his magic to heal the injury. Then he proceeded to bandage it, he felt cold sweat forming on his forehead. It felt like poison had traveled throughout his entire body.

He then grabs a piece of paper and a writing brush to write a letter to his uncle. When the letter was written, he tied it up with a thin stripe of cloth, he used magic to send the letter to Bai Sect. He let his hair down and placed his hairpin into a small wooden box, using magic to make it disappear so no one would take it from him. Laying down on the bed, waiting for slumber to take over. Little did he know those nails that dug into his flesh was spreading poison.

The next morning, YuHan woke up to a painful shoulder. He unwrapped his bandage to see the injury had gotten worse, it was turning purple. He got out of his room and ran downstairs to the clerk asking for hot water. He returned to his room waiting for someone to bring hot water to him. A waiter came into his room and placed a bowl of steaming hot water. After the waiter left, YuHan used a cloth and dipped it into the water, then wiped his injury.

His face was pale and his lips were dried. He bandaged himself again and fixed his clothes. The moment he was about to open the door, he coughed multiple times. He sat down and started to use magic to heal himself. He stopped when he heard a knock on the door. ZiNuo opens the door, leaning against the door, staring at YuHan. "Bai Gongzi, are you going to prepare for the event today?"

"Get out." YuHan stared at ZiNuo before getting up from the bed, walking towards him. YuHan pushed ZiNuo out of the door, slamming it shut.

"Are you mad that I came in at the wrong time? I'm sorry." YuHan sat near the door and started coughing. "Bai Gongzi, are you still there?"

"Leave," YuHan said quickly before he got himself up from the floor. He seated himself down on the bed, what type of poison was this? He went to his bag and grabbed a bottle of pills. He quickly got a pill out and dropped it into his mouth, swallowing it to relieve pain. After a few minutes he started to feel a bit better so he went to clean himself up. He got out of the room and down the stairs.

YuHan saw ZiNuo sitting down and eating a bowl of noodles. YuHan seated himself down then staring at ZiNuo. ZiNuo slurped his noodles before his eyes met with YuHan's. "You want some?" ZiNuo asked. YuHan shook his head. "Bai Gongzi, why do you look a bit pale?"

"It's nothing, keep eating your noodles and we'll head out," YuHan spoke as he grabbed onto a teapot. Then he felt a sudden touch on his shoulder where his wound was.

"What brings Yin Gongzi and Bai Gongzi here?" a female voice spoke. YuHan turned around to see the xiaojie from yesterday. She was wearing shades of purple and had a smirk on her face. "How are you feeling Bai Gongzi? Looking a bit pale than yesterday."

"What did you do?" YuHan asked.

"What are you talking about Bai Gongzi? Or should I say YuHan Gongzi?" she laughed.

"Don't you dare to repeat my name. We're not close," YuHan stood up.

"Since you're Yin Gongzi's friend you might as well be my friend too. After all, I'm planning to marry Yin Gongzi," she smiled.

"I didn't agree to anything you said xiaojie. I also don't even know you well enough till the point you're suited to be a potential wife of mines," ZiNuo said.

"We can get to know each other today and tomorrow. There's many days ahead of us to get to know each other. You should come with me to the kite event my sect is holding today," Teng Xiaojie said.

"I'm spending time with Bai Gongzi today so no need," ZiNuo rejected her offer.

"You should go with Teng Xiaojie," YuHan said before he walked away from them. He walks up the stairs struggling and holding onto the rails.

YuHan: A wife?

ZiNuo: What?

YuHan: Nothing.

ZiNuo: Anything else you want to ask before I start eating?

YuHan shook his head. ZiNuo starts to eat his noodles.

YuHan: Was the butterfly knot only for me?

ZiNuo choked on his noodles.

ZiNuo: Wait what?

YuHan: Don't want anything you give to other people.

ZiNuo: Elaborate!

YuHan: How long till you can understand?

YuHan leaves as ZiNuo chases after him.
