81 Miscarriage
Michelle was being treated inside the emergency room while Alec was pacing on the hospital corridor.
An hour later he saw Daniel and Lyla arriving at the hospital.
"Where is she?"
Daniel asked Alec, his face turned sour when he looked at him.
"She is inside, getting treated."
"What happened?" Daniel's voice got accusatory.
His tone made Alec feel guilty. Letting out a deep exhale Alec replied,
"Dwane tricked her into meeting him at the bar. He had.. he had a few men attack her thankfully she was able enough to block them and even Mark was around."
"But you weren't." Daniel taunted him, further intensifying his guilt.
"Where is he?" Daniel was fuming with anger when he asked about Dwane.
"He is also being treated, El stabbed him on his chest."
"That bastard.." "Good, he deserves that." Daniel sneered.
"Calm down Dan" Lyla tried to placate him.
A couple of minutes later, Michelle had all her wounds dressed and she was let out seated on a wheelchair.
Alec was the first one to approach her,
"Take me back home Alec." She softly asked him.
He nodded, too many things had happened for him to leave her alone.
She wouldn't even have been in this state if he had not cut all contact with her. 'Why didn't I receive her calls.' Alec repeatedly reprimanded himself.
He couldn't let Dwane take advantage of their differences again.
He held the wheelchair and started to walk towards the exit.
"Stop" Daniel stopped him.
"You'll come back with us to Ford's Villa, I don't trust him to protect you." He firmly told Michelle, completely ignoring Alec who stood behind her.
Alec felt utterly powerless in front of Daniel. He had never felt this helpless before in his entire life.
Before the revelation, For Alec, he was everything El had to call her own and he was the only one she depended on for everything.
Protecting her and looking after her was only his responsibility and right. It made him feel a sense of possession over her.
His feelings were in a state of crisis when Michelle's true identity was revealed.
She was no longer a simple and naive commoner who happened to marry Alec Wilson, She was the daughter of the well renowned Ford family, a nobel born by blood.
Surely Daniel Ford would stop at nothing to ensure the safety of his daughter. Alec couldn't bring himself to go against Daniel's word but Michelle did. "Dad please.." she pleaded.
"No. I can't…" Daniel was interrupted
"They are a married couple Dan, you shouldn't be disregarding her feelings like this. She wants to be with her husband and we've to respect their wishes." Lyla firmly said,
Unlike most noble women, she was equally authoritative as Danie yet she carried a noble feminine elegance with her.
"Why don't you stay with us at the Ford's Villa for a few days?" She cordially asked Alec.
Given Michelle's vulnerable state he didn't want to leave her alone. He nodded to Lyla's suggestion.
After a three day long wait which seemed like an eternity, Michelle was finally happy and relieved to have Alec to her side, but her happiness wasn't destined to live long.
Alec wheeled her towards the hospital exit, Lyla and Daniel walked along.
While they walked towards the exit, "Ahh.." Michelle felt shooting pain in her abdomen.
She squeezed her eyes shut and held her belly as she cried aloud out of excruciating pain.
In no time, She was hurried back to the emergency room, she screamed aloud in pain all the way, distressing everyone around her.
Few minutes later, Daniel was pacing around nervously when he saw the doctor attending Michelle step out. Lyla, Alec and Daniel gathered around her,
"How is she?"
"I'm sorry Mr. Ford, she had a miscarriage."
Alec was utterly stupefied. Guilt drowned him, his breathing constricted and he could feel his heart ripping apart in several pieces.
It was all his fault, if only he had managed to talk to Michelle none of this would have happened.
He couldn't bring himself to face Michelle.
He blankly walked away as he let his guilt and the pain of losing a child overpower him.
Michelle broke down into a storm of tears when Lyla informed her about the miscarriage.
She was futher disheartened to know that Alec left when he got to know about the miscarriage.
Meanwhile, Dwane was still unconscious, the stab mark was deep causing a lot of blood loss.
Ricky was by his side for the sake of friendship even though he despised him.
Besides Bill and Tom were also injured.
He tried calling Alec to ask about Michelle, but he kept cancelling his calls.
The doctor had discharged her later that evening.
Eating a light meal, Michelle went back to the room and let her sleep temporarily to replace all her pain and agony.
Meanwhile, When Dwane gained consciousness he wanted to leave the hospital. He had Bill and Tom, who were also injured, arrange for his discharge, but the doctor had refused, giving the condition of his grave injury.
