74 Bewitching

Patty served breakfast to Alec, El and Dwane. 

As usual, Dwane found his breakfast spicy and kept drinking water to lessen the burning sensation. 

After finishing their breakfast, "I've to go, but you rest today." Alec told El and kissed her forehead before leaving. 

Later that evening, Alec received an invitation from Daniel Ford for his business launch event, he merely glanced through the contents of it. 

Although he was obligated to visit the event he didn't want to, given the ludicrous rumours. He could still hear people gossiping from afar and who shushed when they got into his ear shot. He found a personal note along with the invitation. 

It read, 

'Dear Alec,

 I intend to clear all the false rumours and speculations about El in this event. No one would dare to say a word against her. So be present at the launch event with your wife.  -Daniel Ford'

It was strange for Alec to have Mr. Ford address him as Alec and to talk about El in a protective manner. 

Even Dwane and Ricky received the invitation. 

"Another boring event." Ricky rolled his eyes, 

Dwane on the other hand, had a menacing smile plastered to his face "Exactly what I expected." he grinned devilishly. 

Meanwhile in Ford's Villa, Daniel was on a call with Isobelle.

 "Are you sure about this Dad?" Isobelle asked. 

"I don't think El would approve of it." 

"The truth had to come out one day and given what happened yesterday, I need to do this as soon as I can." Daniel replied firmly. 

"Mhm. I hope everything goes well." Isobelle said. 

"What time will you two reach?" 

"Umm.. I've to attend to something, so I'll be returning a day or two late." 

"But mom will be there by tonight." 

"Okay, safe travels." Daniel said and hung up. 

In no time the following evening had arrived, 

Mark had asked Michelle to return home after her work and she followed through.

 She was about to step inside when she was greeted with a well dressed gentleman, 

Handing over two well crafted boxes he said, "Sir has sent you the dress and jewellery for today's event. The makeup artist will be arriving soon." El was reminded of the time when Alec had done the similar thing for their six month anniversary.

 'What might be the event today?' she thought.

 "Do you know what kind of event it is?" 

"No", he replied and took his leave. 

Soon enough the make-up artists had arrived and they quickly began to work on their masterpiece. 

She was wearing a Navy Blue drape style gown which darkened at its hem. 

The dark and royal colour of the dress accentuated her fair skin. 

Her makeup was lavishly done giving her a regal demeanour. Her hair was intricately braided and tied into a bun adding up to her ethereal beauty.

 She wore the necklace Daniel gifted her with a similar pair of earrings she had. Of all, it gave her a Nobel and opulent look. 

"You look exquisite Mrs. Wilson." One of the make-up artists complimented her. 

"Thanks to you" she humbly replied. 

Unlike the turmoil and dismay she carried last time she was lavishly dressed, this time, her mind was at peace and everything seemed at its right place. 

Everything but her hidden identity. 

Noticing that her thoughts were leaning towards the daunting aspects of her life, Michelle slightly shook her head to stop her chain of thoughts and live in the moment. 

Whatever event it was, she was looking forward to it. A bright smile appeared on her face when she dialled Alec's number. 

Unexpectedly she heard a faint sound of his ringtone from behind.

 Turning around she saw Alec standing at the door. 

The moment Alec saw her, he was utterly bewitched by her illustrious beauty. Alec stood still feeling spellbound. 

"You look.." for a moment he found himself at a loss for words.

 "You look.. breathtaking." He said, 

relishing the angelic sight in front of him. "Thank you for this dress."

 She said as she smiled brightly at him.

Her words confused him but he chose to ignore it. 

He took a while to feast his eyes with her beauty, after which he stepped forward, cupping her face with his hand, he kissed her lips. 

Within seconds, their kiss grew more and more passionate.

 Alec couldn't give his fullest because he had the event on the back of his mind. 

He wanted to attend the launch event only for the sake of convention and come back soon with El. 

"You didn't tell me what the event is about?" 

"Not important, we'll only exchange pleasantries and come back." El nodded but felt perplexed. 

'Why did he give me such a lavish dress for a trivial event?' 

"Let's go and come back soon, I can't wait to devour that enticing body of yours." Alec's voice turned more seductive as he said the last part of his sentence.

 It made El's cheeks turn into a bright shade of red, she blushed shyly. 

"If You do that, I'll skip the event and have you right here." Alec's voice turned authoritative, not helping El's crimson face. 

The couple stared into each other's eyes as they drowned themself in them. 

They would have actually skipped the event if it wasn't for Ricky repeatedly knocking on their door.

 "How long will you two take?" Ricky said out from the other side of the door. 

"Let's go." El said who was still feeling shy under Alec's seductive gaze. Clearing his throat he nodded. 

When Alec opened the door, Ricky who was standing in front of them was also charmed by the way El looked tonight.

 "You look dazzling in that dress El." 

"Thank you." Their short conversation was friendly and platonic but Alec still felt jealous. When El stepped away,

 "Stop staring at my wife." Alec gritted his teeth. 

"Hey! Easy there" Ricky felt slightly offended by the way Alec reacted to his compliment. 

"But be prepared  to say this to everyone at the event. She looks bewitching and everyone's eyes will be fixed on her." 

Ricky teased Alec and walked ahead before he could react.
