2 Chapter 2

“Lorenzo Blake but my friends call me Enzo,” the darker muscle man smiled, bent down and kissed my knuckles, “The pleasure is all mine.”

My heart fluttered at both the touch of his lips and his words, and I had to shove my hand in my coat pocket to stop them from seeing the trembling.

“If I’d known our neighbor was going to be so hot, I’d have let Enzo talk me into moving up here months ago,” Freddie shoved his elbow playfully into his companion’s ribs and Enzo growled an equally playful sound.

“If I had known that my neighbors were going to be so hot, I might not have asked the landlord to keep the place vacant for as long as possible,” I laughed, but it was only half a joke. I’d known the landlord ever since I was a little girl and I’d asked him to make sure that whoever the new neighbors were, they wouldn’t be causing me any trouble. I needed peace and quiet if I was going to be able to write.
