Enzo grabbed two more towels and handed one to Freddie so that they could both dry off while I wrapped my own around myself, just under my armpits.

“I’ll pop the oven back on to reheat the brownies.” Freddie suggested, and quickly left the room.

I was about to follow him when Enzo gripped hold of my arm and tugged me around to face him. He wrapped his arms around me and cradled me there as he said, “So do you still think I was lying?”

“Definitely not!” I responded. “I’ve never felt such passion in all my life.”

Perhaps that was why I had become a romance author. Maybe it was because I found more passion on the pages than I ever had in my own life.

“Well you’d better get used to it, honey.” Enzo pressed his lips to my forehead. “Because we’ve got plenty more love to go around.”

“So, you don’t think this was a one-time thing?” I asked. I was scared to know what the answer was.
