THE LONER - the loser

I used to ask myself, "What is the meaning of life?". Some people say it is colorful, full of spices each one giving different taste to each individual in life. But, for real, what is life? Do you wanna know? Life is a box of chocolate for other people but for me, it is a suffering especially when you are at the bottom of the chain. In reality, everything does work in the favor of the stronger ones. "Jungle Law" doesn't only applied in jungle but everywhere. And the only way to keep yourself alive is to keep getting stronger. Only the apex predator can use the word "mercy", only he can decide whether or not to spare the others. So, what is the point, here? Of course, strength.

He was your everyday schoolboy, who was the best target for the school bullies to pick a fight, not because he is ugly, fat or have a weird personality but because he is easy to bullied. "The Loser", it was the name of him at school and everyone knows him with that name despite being smartest kid in the class. Not only that, "Loser" "Trash" "The deaf-mute", there are a lot of names for him but they all called him "The Loner Den". Despite of all that, he have a friend called "Sam" and a girlfriend "Jenny", he doesn't care about other people say about him, as he has his girlfriend and best friend by his side.

The school starts early, he was heading to the school and suddenly in the back,

Sam: Yo, what's up? Den.

Den: I m good.

Jenny: Den, I need to take art class in the evening so i can't go with you today. Is that alright?

His best friend and girlfriend hug him in the back and ask him. He never feel uncomfortable being around them as those two had been childhood friends of him. In the back, Sam is slowly getting closer to Jenny, Jenny has a weird look in her eye but he doesn't know about this.

As usual, the school is over and he is waiting for his friends to go back home together. But, Sam and Jenny are late as if their class isn't over yet. He waits for about 2 hours and finally, he saw Sam and Jenny coming out of the classroom.

Den: Are u guys out?

Sam: Oh, dude, have you been waiting all the time?

Jenny: I told you that i will be late this evening cuz i got something to do.

Den: It is okay, I want to go with you guys.

Sam suddenly grasp his hands and say "Do you know?"

Den: about what?

Sam stare at him for a moment and say "I was joking, dude, chill, chill."

There is a secret between Sam and Jenny but he doesn't notice that. Of course, he is only good in studies. He never interacts with other people or at least try to act with one. While they are walking down the street, the stray cat was lying on the ground, bleeding all over the place. It was "hit and run", not on human though.

Sam: It must be hit by a car, it can't be help.

Jenny: Nowadays, people drive recklessly. You know... last time, I almost got hit by a car.

Sam and Jenny continue their talk, not helping the cat. But he doesn't stand that.

Den: You guys go ahead. I will meet on the canteen tomorrow.

Sam: Dude, forget it. It is nearly half dying.

Jenny: Den, then i will go together with Sam, ok? Let's talk later.

Sam: Ok then, we too, have unfinished business so we be off ahead. See ya bro.

Den: See ya.

Focusing on the cat, he didn't realize back then, things got starting go wrong.

Time changes so does people. He hadn't been outside for years and met with Sam and Jenny for 3 months. Jenny always made excuse whenever he went to her house or wanted to meet her. But he didn't have no idea about what is happening.

Lu Den (Den father): The school break is over, and schools are starting again soon.

Shin Den (Den mother): Den, you should start studying again. Son. Tell me if you need anything Ok?

Except from his mom and dad, there is a little sister but for some reason, she hates her brother badly as if she doesn't want a brother in the first place and treat him coldly.

Den Den: I'm finished. I gonna go with my friend. No, need to pick me up. I will come back when it is time.

She eats her food quickly and left. But she acts like a stranger and with coldness in her eyes, she goes to school. After she left, the table becomes silent.

News from the Television: "The scientists discovered the new object in space with has a size of a continent just outside of our solar system. Luckily, its path is just to pass by our solar system, so it was a greeting from another system".
