10 King

In the grand city where vast skyscrapers stand, the grand sculptural building rises in various shape and size. It was truly a breathtaking site. The Grand Capital City was indeed something everyone would aspire to live in someday, so grand that one can't simply live an easy life. One must either be in the high rank of sociality or working for those on top. But to live in such a city would indeed be a blessing since it was home to loads of power Magic Caster and Hunters.

In the center of the Grand Capital City stood the biggest grand tower known as the Imperial tower. It's where Clan leader meets during summits and events. It also holds loads of the countries secret research and history. Not only that, the Imperial tower is home to the King and his family.

The King isn't a real royal king but instead is also a member of the eleven clans but was appointed as the head for they hold such great power. The King can either be a woman or male, it's unnecessary to be a man. They can also replace the King if someone from the eleven clan heir shows great potential to be the King. Right now a new King rules the country since the previous King step down for no reason and vanished.

Inside the Imperial tower, loads of members from the different clan has arrived. Each clan, of course, were all dress in fancy and elegant attire as they showcase there wealth and power towards each other.

Apart from being powerful, each clan must also hold high standards in society. They must not only hold power but also by wealth and must be able to support themselves and the people they rule over. Such cases mean investing in businesses and other aspects. One can only hold on to power if they have the money to sustain the power they wish to hold. That is why some sub-clan members aren't powerful but they hold great power when it comes to money.

Right now apart from the sub-clans the eleven clans are hoping to one day be the King. Since the current King is someone not respected and does not possess great power.

"I heard the grandson of the Cromwell family will be attending."

"Not only that rumors said he actually has a son already. What even surprising, his son has great power already and in such a young age."

"Does this mean the Cromwell family will fight for the right to be the King?"

Whilst the other sub-can murmur to each other, members from other clans overheard the conversation and stay quite to themselves.

It's true that the Cromwell family has great power especially since Alex has been acknowledged by the previous King and hope he would be the next King. But not only did he reject the right to be the family Clan head but also the honor to be the King.

Most of the time, the appointment of King is passed down to bloodline. However, since the previous King vanished it was passed down to the next person in line by blood. At the same time, the previous Elder King is still alive which means no one dare oppose him since he does hold great power despite his age.

"Look, Elder Cromwell has arrived."

Member from the other clan turned their focus towards the door as the member from the Cromwell family arrived. The Elder arrived with his four sons and their wives along with some of there children.

Since Clan Gathering is a high society event one can't simply bring anyone along. One must be well educated and manner which means children are hardly brought especially if they do not possess any magic yet.

"Old friend, it's been a long time..." Elder Cromwell said

The old man smiled in seeing his old friend, "It has been indeed so long my friend, I see your grandchildren are all grown up. I heard you even have a great-grandchild already."

Elder Cromwell laughed, "My friend, we are old of course my grandchildren would have a family too by now."

The elder man face turned a little upset in seeing the young children, "You are indeed lucky my friend."

Elder Cromwell understands why the Elder King was showing such expression. "Don't worry my friend, someday you'll be lucky as well."

"Greeting Elder Cromwell." A man dress in an elegant blue suit said as he walked towards them.

"King, you've grown into a fine man indeed." Elder Cromwell praised him.

"Elder Cromwell, thank you." He said, he then looked at the people behind the elder and seem to notice someone was missing, "Isn't Alex here?"

"No worries, he shall be here if not I'll drag him here..." he said

The Elder King laughed, "Why must you be hard on him."

"You don't know what I have to do for that boy to attend such occasion all the time." He sighed, "His son is even worst. Like father like son."

The King expression changed when he heard Elder Cromwell mention father and son. So the rumors were indeed true.

"Tell me, Elder Cromwell, how old is Alex son?" The King asked

"His 6 years old now." He replied

Both the King and Elder King were surprised since rumors said the boy already can cast high-level tier magic.

"I'm not yet 28 yet Alex already has a son who is 6. The mother must be very young indeed." He said

Elder Cromwell expression drastically changed, he did not expect a topic about Claude mother would pop up. The fact he does not actually fully understand who Claude true mother is. Even though he resembles someone he knows but it's just still suspicion. Since Claude has grown up with Alex his face has changed a lot and does not resemble that person anymore.

"She was indeed young but sadly she passed away during labor." He said

"My friend, I'm sorry to hear that." Elder King patted Cromwell on the shoulder.

"It's fine, anyway, I see some of the Clan Leaders have arrived as well. Excuse me while I greet them." He said

Elder King smiled, "I shall go with you."

While the two Elder greets the rest of the clan head, the rest of the Cromwell family also did their part as they socialize with everyone.

Such even was indeed something Alex and Claude would not wish to be with. Since the two prefers solitude and peace away from all the glims and light.
