6 Happy Birthday

"Young Master came down they'll be here soon," Martha said

Claude was full of life as he anxiously waits for his grandparent's arrival. Not only that, the whole house has been decorated for a party. At that moment, someone opened the front door, Claude run to the door to check who it was. When he saw who step it he was a little disappointed.

"What's wrong?" Professor Levin asked

Alex laughed when he saw Claude face change drastically after seeing Levin. "He thought you were his grandparents."

Professor Levin smiled as he rubs the boys head, "Happy Birthday, don't worry I'm sure they'll be here soon."

As more guest arrived, Claude became more agitated as time passed by. Since Claude move in with Alex he didn't have any friend of his age, but he was surrounded with people who care and love him such as the students, research team and some staff of the academy. They all arrived greeting him as they presented their gift to him.

"Claude Happy Birthday...."

"Happy Birthday..."

Claude received everyone presents and polity greeted them all "Thank you, everyone..."

At the same time, Claude felt a familiar presence approaching their house. Since he had been training with Alex and Levin he has improved his sense, he quickly runs outside causing everyone to wonder what was going on. Alex was the only one not surprise from Claude sudden action, he followed the young boy outside as he saw him opened the gate.

Two elder couple then step out of the car that just arrived, the sight of the two made the young boy covered in tears. "Grandpa, Granny..." He quickly runs to them as he jumped into their arms.

"Claude..." They were so delighted to see the young boy, the elder woman could not hold her tears as she embraced the young boy.

"My baby, Granny missed you so much," she said

"Were you a good boy to your father?" he asked

"Of course Grandpa..." he replied

Alex slowly approached them and did not want to ruin the moment, but they have guests inside all curious and wondering what's going on. "Claude, you have other guests inside. Bring your grandparents inside and introduce them."

Claude wiped his tears as he nodded his head, he then grabs each hand of the elders as he guided them inside the house and introduce them to everyone.

As Claude playing around with the student, his grandparents were having a conversation with Alex and Levin.

"So you're saying this happened before..." Levin asked

The elderly man sighed, "Yes, she warned us about it but we did not expect it would be like this, we love him so much we didn't care about it. But I know people won't accept him if they would find out..."

The elderly woman wipes the tears falling down her face, "We didn't want to tell him since we're too afraid to lose him."

"Don't worry, I promise we won't lose him," Alex said

As the party ended, everyone left including Claude's grandparents. Claude was all in tears as he needed to say farewell to the two.

"We promise to visit you again, so be good to your father," he said

"Claude, study hard and always listen to Martha and Walden. Make sure to help around..." she said

"I promise Granny, Grandpa..." he said as he hugged them for the last time until they meet again.

After everyone left, Claude and Alex got to change into more formal wear as they headed somewhere. It was already getting late when they arrived at a private estate, from the gate it was a 10-minute drive already.

"Father where are we?" he asked

"You can call it home but I don't..." he replied and sighed, "Claude, be careful later. Despite they might act nice towards you always be cautious understand?"

"Yes, father..."

It didn't take long for them to arrive at the house, it was so grand and extravagant like a palace. Outside were servants all line up to welcome them.

"Young Master, Little Master, welcome home..."

Claude felt unsettle at the unfamiliar people, so Alex carried him instead in his arms as he buried his face avoiding everyone.

"Master, the young master has arrived," the butler said

Inside the room were people all dress up, men in a tuxedo while the woman was all dress in a beautiful dress.

"Brother, welcome home." a woman dress in red evening gown said

"Brother, I never expected you to have a son already?" a man said while drinking his wine

"Uncle didn't know who are you to find out..." the man wearing glasses said

An elder man slams his walking stick. "Enough..."

Everyone was startled when the elderly man raised his voice. Alex slowly approached the old man who was seated on the chair, "Grandfather, this is my son Claude."

Claude got down from Alex, "Hello, Great-Grandfather..."

"He has her eyes..." he said as he looked at Alex, Alex did not say a word and just smiled. "I've heard he was able to cast magic already?"

Before Alex could say a word, someone interrupted him. "Of course he does Father, he is Alex's son..."

Alex was not pleased when the woman blurted out nonsense without his approval, "Woman like I said last time know your place..."

It surprises everyone hearing Alex's harsh word, but it was not something they should be surprised with since they all know Alex's never treated her as his mother since his real mother has passed away. Since his mother was the elder favorite daughter who showed promising skill when it comes to casting, the elder favored Alex as well since he was gifted like his mother. Despite his real son isn't the eldest amongst his son, he made Alex the successor of the family.
