19 Chapter V The Nebula Galaxy - Part 1

A loud announcement had occurred on the Scar PA system stating a clear message, "Brothers! We have arrived at the Holy Site, we will now make our decent."

"Locus, do you respond?" Lee asked, talking inside his helmet, communicating through the Fireteam Chat.

"Affirmative," he replied back with a bit of static breaking up a bit of the reception.

"How is the Navigational room sector, is it clear?" he asked to communicate back to him.

"It's clear sir, but have you found a Scar escape ship?" he wondered, understanding the situation they were in.

"We have a ton of ships in our area that are not in use, we can easily steal any ship from them," Lee assured him.

"I'm on my way, place C4 charges near the other ships in the hanger to cause an explosion," he reported back to him. Near the end of his dialogue, it was beginning to become more static than usual, "I'll swing by a PowerCell room to place a bomb of my own to cause a scene."

Lee didn't acknowledge back to him, he simply cut off communications and told what his team should do.

Locus ran as fast as he could down the several hallways to reach the power cell room, he encountered a group of Scar soldiers patrolling down the hall, it was the first time he saw a group sense they arrived. Rapidly, he whipped out his assault rifle and sprayed the three creature's shield's to depletion. All but one shield was depleted, the enemies had weaker shields, (which was a great advantage to Locus) he kept charging at the three alien creatures ready to swing his combat knife. They prepared for him as they readied the only weapons they had, energy swords. The first one swung at him, but he dodged the swing by shifting towards the right, he jabbed his knife into the creature's nape, ultimately killing him first. In the corner of his eye he caught the two swings of the other creatures, both coming from left and right. He thought very carefully of his next move, he jumped back and threw a hand grenade onto the ground. An explosion released from the tiny bomb and dismembered both the creatures.

He jumped back from the ground and continued running down the hallway to reach the perfect place to explode a Dreadnought.

He ran down the long hallway thinking of what seemed off to him, a massive Dreadnought ship and barely any guards, this wasn't how it was when he first infiltrated a Dreadnought. Why is enemy presence so low? Questions he kept recycling in his mind. The only current objective was his only option he could clearly think through. The room he entered without knowing was the PowerCell room, a wide area with two beams of red electricity flowing through a complicated capsule. No guards either here, what was going on here? Something was wrong, the ship was still heading towards the planet along with the other ships, no one was responding to the Dreadnought's communications as he thought they would do.

Suddenly another loud announcement occurred, "We will dissect insects that invade our holy ground." What was that? Who was that? Why would they say that? Unless. Bam! A loud explosion was heard from within the Dreadnought. Locus was tossed on the ground and terribly shaken up, he tried to contact Delta Team, but nothing was coming through. The communications was purposely being blocked out, but how did they know that he and Delta Team was on the ship. The plan had changed, he swiftly returned to Delta Team in the hangar bay to escape what was coming.

Meanwhile in the Dreadnought spaceship several ships apart from Locus, a spider-like Scar soldier scratched his chin, observing the Dreadnought being attacked by several ships. He smirked under his evil smile, he gave a slight chuckle and turned around to contact a fellow leader. He pressed a specific button and kneeled before the hologram of a shadowy presence. "Is it done?" the gravelly voice asked.

"Yessssssssss," he spoke, putting a lot of emphasis on his curtain words.

"Then we shall see if he is the one you reported me about," the unknown voiced monster replied back. "Is he the one you fought so long ago Axsis?"

The spider-like creature grinned, then chuckled uncontrollably and replied with a devious smile, "Yesssssss! He is the one." He turned away from the conversation and gazed at the Dreadnought that's being attacked and blown from the sky.

Locus was closer to Delta Team as he ran through the many hallways, his pace was swift trying to run quickly to reach his allies in time. Another explosion went off in the background, he felt the vibration and ship tilt suddenly. He tripped to the floor from the sudden jerking from the explosion. He pulled himself up and kept moving onwards to Delta Team's position.

"Lee do you copy?" He asked intensely as he hustled ever closer to the hanger bay, a single Scar creature was jogging ahead slowly trying to reach the hanger as well. Locus dashed quickly at the creature's back and stabbed him, killing him fatefully. A howl erupted from the creature as he passed him, the creature-like monster dropped dead to the ground and bled out while watching Locus move forward.

The sliding door opened, he dashed and scanned the area to find Delta Team. He saw heavy fire concentration in the distance, two sides blasting each other with weaponry. He swiftly went to investigate, grabbing out his assault rifle and searching a target to open fire on. There were about several Scar creatures attacking a single medium sized alien crate, he assumed Delta Team was behind the crate, trying to avoid being shot at. Locus stopped and thought to himself of what he could do to even the odds. He searched himself and saw only two hand grenades, ammo cartridges, and his black combat knife. The grenades seemed like the best option, he pulled the pins on both grenades, chucked them far away towards the enemy group, and waited until the explosion occurred.

Boom!

Half of the forces attacking were killed or wounded. Delta Team members peaked out from the crate to see what had happened, Locus stared at the four recognizable helmets that peaked from their hiding spot. He saw only three currently standing soldiers, completely caught off guard. He gunned them down and killed one while the other members killed the remaining two and any wounded creature still recovering from the ground.

"Where have you been you loner!" Kate exclaimed at Locus demanding an immediate answer.

"Do you have a ride?" Locus asked Lee, totally ignoring Kate's question. She was becoming a bit irritated by Locus, instead of shouting at him she simply stomped her foot on the ground like a little kid.

"This way!" Lee shouted as he directed the group to the getaway ship. They juggled their way inside, as it was a cramped ship, most likely meant for three creatures to fit inside. Locus thought to himself why he chose this ship as any other ship would've worked, but the problem being is there are several Dreadnought ships outside awaiting for them to zoom outside with a big ship to easily blast down. He kept quiet and watched Lee pilot the ship himself.

As they flew outside the Dreadnought's hanger, they all saw a massive island with no other mainland around, only one simple island surrounded by bodies of water. It had tons of unconfirmed jungle-like trees, in the middle of the island was a giant volcano. They glanced around the tight window opening and saw the several Dreadnought ships gathered around the one ship they just left. The massive cone shaped metallic structure was floating in the distance, waiting for something.

"What need to evade their attacks, we're sitting ducks moving at a pace like this," Locus told Lee as he piloted the ship.

"Let see what they plan next," Lee told him as he smoothly sailed the spaceship towards the island.

Rapid timing as the Dreadnought exploded behind them causing a sudden scare among some of the Delta Team members, a piece of debris smashed their ship, causing it to spin out of control. "We're going down!" Lee exclaimed trying to raise the steering upwards, but it was no use.

The small spaceship they were riding in was going to crash either into the ocean or island, it was too early to tell. Lee tried to steer the ship into the island as close as he could, he only paid attention to the direction as to where the ship was heading, while Locus observed the Dreadnoughts above him, he wondered why they weren't attacking them or even tried to blow them out of the sky.

The ship arrived closer to the beach of the island, Lee tried to smooth the landing, but it was no use. When they flew closer to the ground, a hard smack was given to everyone, Lee was unconscious and the others were still stable. Locus tried to take control of the steering, but it was no use. He looked up from the steering wheel and saw they were headed towards a granite rock. Locus tried to move closer to the back, but it was too late to notice, it knocked him unconsciously and put him in a deep sleep.
