16 Chapter IV The Artifact - Part 2

Eventually, the ship landed inside the shadowy Scar themed hanger bay. Inside were carbon fiber pillars of dark texture. The inside walls were black and red striped colors in each row. The flooring was a tint platinum color, with a pattern of honeycomb shapes. There were also multiple black crates and cages stacked on top of each other, inside each crate were energy casters, rifles, pistols, carbines, ammo, health packs, grenades, and armor. Also inside were tens of enemy fighter spaceships. Several groups of enemy Scars were also patrolling the hangerbay inside, it was no different than back on the Autumn spaceship, just the difference was strange aliens were in control of most of the solar system.

The Delta team squad, including Locus, waited on top of the ship stealthy waiting for Lee's 'go ahead' signal to advance cautiously inside. He readied himself to prepare for the worse, the others didn't bother to check their ammo, they either knew how many bullets they had left, or they just were lazy and didn't bother to check the reserves.

A few enemy Scars soldier groups exit out of the hanger bay, only a few groups of Scar creatures remain throughout the rather small pocket hanger bay. Locus observed the hanger bay to find advantage points and potential cover spots to hide during possible gunfights, or sneaking past them. A single Scar enemy soldier sniffed out something as he walked by the carrier ship that they were hiding on, "I smell something," the Creature mentioned to himself.

He sniffed again housing his snout upwards but couldn't see any signs of human contact."I must be smelling the plasma burn from the fuel tank."

He continued walking away keeping his same slouchy pose as he tucked his carbine rifle to his shoulder.

"That was close," Kate told them while she gripped on the edge of the carrier ship. She was quite afraid as they were inside a Scar Dreadnought, she had never been inside a Dreadnought before, she was both excited and anxious of being found out, or worse, tortured and killed.

They move swiftly out from the top of the ship, onto the flooring as quietly as can be, and move out to find a way out to escape.

All of a sudden as they progressed nearly out of the hanger, a plasma beam flew by Locus's field of vision. They redirected their attention and saw a group of Scars soldiers attacking them. "Quick find cover!" Lee shouted as they got behind crates to use for cover.

The energy beams of mostly red colors were flying past Locus and company intensely. Locus drawed his assault rifle quickly, aiming at the quite large array of enemy Scar creatures, he pressed the grey colored trigger and bullets sprayed from the barrel. The weapon was shaking as he mowed down the enemies, it was not easy to hold down the weapon, but with persistence, he kept it in place to kill his targets. Shortly after, a new group of enemy Scars had entered the large ship hanger to help aid in their own battle.

A large group of enemies surrounded both Locus and Delta team in a corner to block an escape. As they were pinned down, they heard on a loudspeaker, "Enemies in the hanger!"

The hanger was turned from being a moody area and into a warzone with five people versus an entire Dreadnought. "What do we do?" Kate asked worriedly as she hid herself behind a crate.

"We need to hold them off as long as we can, we need to gain as much Intel regarding the cone shaped structure as much as we can!" He shouted as his gun was firing, trying to kill as many of them as he could.

"We need support immediately Lee!" Juniper shouted while killing her targets.

But out of the blue, a friendly damaged Militia spaceship was crashing out of controllably into the hanger unexpectedly. Locus and Delta team heard the pilot interfering with their comms stating, "Mayday! Mayday! This is Alpha 131 about to reach immediate crashing-'' He stopped, the chatter made static noise continuously. He crashed into the Scar group in front of them and exploded inside, damaging the hanger bay.

Lee looked at everyone and pointed out, "Well, there's our support, head into that corridor now!"

Everyone dashed quickly towards the corridor while some Scar creatures were knocked unconscious. Locus and Delta Team had managed to slip past the knocked out creatures and had entered inside the futuristic corridor hallway and made a tight formation, Lee was leading the pack, while Kate, John, and Locus were in the middle, and Juniper was covering behind them. They were ready to brace for what was ahead and kill anything to escape the Dreadnought with their lives intact
