1 Chapter 1: Closing Time

"The mall will be closing in 15 minutes. I repeat the mall will be closing in 15 minutes. Thank You." The person says over the loudspeaker that is echoing through the slightly empty mall. Inside a video game store called Games R' US there are 2 guys, one is 5' and has slightly messy dirty blond hair and green eyes, average build, wearing black jeans and a band t-shirt,and black sneakers. The other guy is 6' has short blond hair and brown eyes, skinny build, wearing brown cargo pants, and green and white striped sneakers. They both are playing a demo of a shooter game. The taller guy shoots and kills the shorter guy's character and the screen shows a splash of blood and says "Game Over". "Well, this is why I stick to RPG games, I'm not really a shooter gamer." The shorter guy says as he backs away from the game and smirks at the taller guy. "Greg, just accept your loss and don't make a stupid excuse that you aren't a shooter gamer because you are a poor sport, heh." The taller guy says as he pats Greg on his head with the palm of his head in a jokingly manner. "I may be short, but patting me on the head..really Ryan?" Greg says with a grin. "You know I'm joking. Hey, where's Joe and Anthony?" Ryan says in concern. "I'm sure they are heading over here soon, Joe said him and Anthony were going to the music store." Greg says as a Games R' Us employee walks up to them. "You guys buying something? If not I suggest you get going." Games R' US employee says with a crooked smile. "We're going, thanks though." Ryan says as they both walk out the store and the employee shuts the store door behind them and locks it. Meanwhile across from the food court inside the music store called NoteWorthy Music the only people in the store is one employee and two guys, one is 5'7 with short black hair, slightly overweight, has brown eyes, wearing black skateboarding sneakers, blue jeans, and a band shirt, and the other is 5' 10, hazel eyes, average build, wearing blue basketball shorts, worn down white shoes, and a plain white t-shirt. The shorter guy is listening to music with headphones on and jamming out while the store employee is standing feet away from him yelling at him and the taller guy is standing over looking at the movies when he sees and hears the employee yelling across the store from the shorter guy. "Sir! Sir, the mall is closing!" Noteworthy employee yells while the short guy keeps jamming out. The employee walks out the guy with the headphones and takes the headphones off his head and the music is heard blasting from the headphones. The shorter guy turns to look at the employee holding the headphones in his hand. "What?' The shorter guy asks. "The mall is closing sir. Time for you and your friend over there to get going." The Noteworthy Employee says. "Sir..I'll have you know I am a high schooler good sir." The shorter guy says. "Whatever, please leave now or I'll have security escort you out." Noteworthy employee says. "You're threatening me now with your mall cops?! I feel triggered now!" The shorter guy yells with a smirk. "You both have 5 seconds to get out of the store or else." Noteworthy employee says as the taller guy runs over to his shorter friend. "Come on Anthony let's go. Stop causing problems." The taller guy says as he pulls Anthony by his right arm to lead him out the music store. "Fine Joe...let's go I guess." Anthony said as they both walk out the music as the Noteworthy employee shakes his head and sets the headphones down then locks the door behind them. Anthony and Joe are standing outside of the music store and they see Greg and Ryan walking towards them from down the hall. Joe and Anthony meet up with Ryan and Greg and they stop in front of the toy store called KB Toys. "So, you guys ready to go?" Greg asked. "Actually, you guys want to see something pretty awesome?" Joe asked. "A dollar bill finally landed in your wallet?" Ryan asked with a smirk. "Ha..yes, I'm poor, super funny. No, would you guys like to hangout in the mall the entire night?" Joe asked. "Why would we want to hangout in a mall where none of the stores are even open?" Ryan asked. "Just to do it man, come on we can say we hung out in the mall after hours." Joe says. "That sounds like a stupid idea, Joe." Greg said. "Fine, let's just go home and go on with our boring lives." Joe said with a grin. "Or, maybe it wouldn't be the worst idea I guess. We could see a movie and not head home yet." Anthony said. "Oh, well that doesn't sound like a bad idea right there." Greg said. "What movie though?" Ryan asked. "There's that new horror movie called, "Hope Lake" we could see." Greg said. "That's rated R there buddy." Ryan said. "So?" Anthony says with a smirk to Ryan. "We are in middle school and I'm pretty sure my mom would freak if I saw that movie and plus Greg's mom would think he was dead if he wasn't home tonight." Ryan said. "True she does jump to the most negative conclusions, but I already told her I was staying at your house Ryan." Greg said. "Ah, well thanks for the heads up." Ryan said as he shakes his head. "You're welcome." Greg said as he gives Ryan a thumbs up. "So, are we seeing that movie then also I don't have money for it, do any of you?" Anthony asked. "No." Greg says. "Not a dollar." Joe says as he looks over at Ryan with a smirk. "I actually only have a 5 on me." Ryan says. "That settles that then…" Greg says as he starts to walk away towards the exit. "Wait." Joe says as Greg turns around. "What?" asked. "What if we sneak into the movie?" Joe asked. "We will get in trouble there guy." Greg said. "What's the worst that can happen?" Anthony asked. "We could get the cops called on us, I don't know." Greg said. "Let's just go sneak into the movie, it's in the separate theater room outside from the rest of the theater so it should be easy to get in and out undetected." Joe said. "Fine...don't go crying to me if we end up getting in trouble." Greg said as they head to watch the movie, "Hope Lake".
