1 Prologue

West Mount High. Year 2075.

I watched the school from a distance as the trees swayed slightly from the soft wind.

A prison. It looked like a prison.

The walls were imbued Lyceum Tech so it could become transparent, a wall that could be converted into a window at a single gesture.

It was said that the structure was fortified so you wouldn't need to worry about it breaking even if the heavy rhinos that once existed at around 50 years ago crashes through. It's also said to be missile proof.

The rooms are conditioned and the only way in and out is through the doors.

Equipped with modernized classrooms and facilities, it provides students and staff with the perfect learning environment. It also includes a state-of the-art security systems that most infrastructures have these days.

The entire campus looked spic and span. Like it was just built pretty recently. It looked clean. Too clean.

Everything looked majestic but at the same time it also seemed... intimidating.

A cold breeze blew as though to keep me away and a sense of foreboding settled deep within my mind.

"Haha! No way- Ah sorry!"

I woke up from my thoughts when a girl bumped into my shoulder. She seems to be laughing at something her friend said.

"It's alright." I said while smiling slightly.

"Were you perhaps staring at the school? Its pretty amazing huh. Ah! My name's Penelope by the way. Penelope Adams. You can call me Pen. And this is Finny."

Pen is a tall girl for her age. She wears her hair in a tight ponytail and seems to always have a smile on her face. And she talks a lot.

"Its actually Tiffany. Tiffany Sanders."

Tiffany is... in a word... tiny. She looks like some sort woodland fairy with her short pixie cut hair and large eyes but there seems to be a calm air about her unlike her stature.

"Hello. My name is Kriss Walkers. It's a pleasure to meet you, Pen. Tiffany."

Silence...

"Pfft-hahahaha!! Stiff! Your too stiff! Why are you speaking so formally!"

"Pen! That's rude!"

I just continued to stare at them with a slightly puzzled look on my face.

"Hahahaha- ah shoot! I'm gonna be late! We really need to go, but it was nice meeting you Kriss! I hope we end up in the same class! See ya later!"

"Ah! Pen! Don't run!" Tiffany yelled to no avail.

"I'm so sorry. Her father is actually one of the professors and they agreed to meet before class starts. Anyway, it was nice meeting you!"

I stared at the two of them running towards the school feeling as though a hurricane had just passed through. What a lively pair.

"Ah. Sorry coming through."

A boy wearing glasses said as he hurried forward while looking the lynth on his wrist to look at the time.

I step aside an let him pass through and he returned my action with a nod. I politely nodded my head in return as he continued to speed walk towards the gate.

Erasing the expression on my face, I looked on blankly as they disappeared from sight.

That was a lot easier than I thought it would be.

Unwittingly, a small smile formed on my lips as I moved my eyes towards the large metal gates and the looming building behind it.

A gust of cold wind blew, shaking the line of trees on both sides of the road as though trying to drive something, or someone, far far away.

Brushing off the random thoughts in my head, I head towards my new school.

This is going to be interesting.
