4 Chapter 4

"I can't believe I'm doing this." Zagan shuts the door close with too much force after he gets out of the car.

We were in front of the house, their house.

It was pitch dark, the sun long gone. The moon was now our protector and the stars were coating beautifully the sky.

Their property was located deeply in the forest. It was miles away from the town, away from every human touch. It was a place in which you'll be afraid to step in because you can ruin the harmony of it.

It felt intimate.

The house was designed in a modern way. It was painted in black and white, and had big walls made out of glass here and there. I squeeze my eyes and on the right side, on the first floor I can see a balcony.

There are a couple lights on.

A loud growl is heard from inside and the door bursts open.

"Namjoon!" A man sprints towards us and in a blink of the eye he is right in front of me.

I forgot how to breathe in the second a pair of bright green eyes stares back at me. His chest is rising and falling rapidly.

"Get out of my property!" He fumes not moving his eyes from mine. The intensity of his stare was too much for me. It felt like he was ripping me apart.

I feel my arm grabbed forcefully, and I found myself behind Zagan once again. Even with him standing like a border between us, his green eyes are not leaving mine. I am trembling and my heart is beating so fast that it might crack open my ribs and leave me.

"Namjoon stop." A guy speaks from beside him. He grabs his shoulder trying to calm him down while Dakho moves in front of us.

"Namjoon, they came to help us." Namjoon finally looks away from me and stares down at Dakho.

"What are they doing here?" The guy from beside Namjoon asks.

"They need a place to stay and- ." Dakho starts explaining but he is cut off by the werewolf they call Namjoon.

"NO!" Namjoon spats demandingly before Dakho could finish.

"The puppy is mad." Zagan mocks him, chuckling under his breath.

He couldn't have kept his mouth shut for once.

"I'll show you what this puppy can do." Namjoon responds gritting his teeth, trying to move towards Zagan, but his shoulders were tightly squeezed by the guy who was beside him a moment ago.

"Go on." He steps forward, challenging him.

"Gladly." His wicked grin foreshadows what could happen between them.

"Stop!" I voice out, the forming sounds vibrating in my chest. I drag Zagan backwards. My brain finally processed the situation we're in. We are dealing with deadly creatures right now.

"Look, we don't want to bother you, but we don't have a choice." I try to resonate with them. My head is spinning again and my whole body is aching. I was attacked by a wolf and a royal today, I don't need to add more attacks on the list. I want this day to finally end.

I stare back at him deadly serious. I need him to understand that we don't have a choice, but stay with them.

Suddenly, my knees are giving up and a strong wave of pain travels through my head. I grip my head tightly and I let out a whimper closing my eyes as if it would stop the pain from spreading. The earth started spinning, making me dizzy. Zagan's arms encircle my waist and press my body to his.

I notice those green eyes staring at me again with his eyebrows knitted together.

"Let them stay."

-

The horizon at dawn. Four different shades of blue are resembling the sea and its waves. It's that very specific moment when the sun is just a faded figure, but the remaining light is enough to project shades of yellow, pink and purple on the sea.

It's that moment when you look up high in the sky and you tell yourself that everything will be alright. It feels like that moment, that view is made to give you strength and will to bear through.

The canvas in front of me is the only source of colour in the room. In the middle is a queen-sized bed, on each part resting a nightstand. Across the bed, the whole wall is occupied by a one piece closet with incorporated mirrors. On the left is the entrance and on the right it's the see-through wall displaying the trees of the beautiful forest of Manyeo.

The room coloured in dark grey screamed fanciness and perfection. The only factor ruining the ambience is my bright blue trolley and black purse from the corner. The room itself is making me feel as an unwelcomed intruder.

The truth is I'm an intruder.

The green eyed man from hours ago known as Namjoon proved how unwelcomed me and Zagan are when his scream echoed in the whole mountain to get out of his property.

Well, it's something we didn't manage to achieve for his displeasure.

I puff a small amount of air out thinking about how he just turned around and got in the house slamming the door shut without muttering another word. He left us with the guy who took our side, and convinced him to let us stay, moments later he presented himself as Yoongi.

I slide down the hallway and look downward when I get to the stairs steadying myself on the railing. I slowly walk down gripping the railing tightly when I feel my knees began to shake.

"Namjoon's office is at the end of the hallway."Yoongi passes by with a box in his hands looking at me. "The last door." He says and his presence disappears behind a door.

I sigh at the thought of being in his spectrum again.

I met him for the first time last night and I have been around him for only a couple of minutes, but it seemed enough for him to be engraved in my mind. His stare didn't leave me sleep. I continuously forced myself to wake up over and over again hoping I won't dream about him, but it wasn't effective.

I kept seeing his eyes staring at me in the next second I was closing mine.

I squeeze my eyes tightly and exhale. I have to keep my composure in front of him and try not to give him any more reasons to despite us further. After all, this is his territory.

I lift my hand to knock, but the door is harshly opened and I bilk surprised by the motion.

There he is, the one who disturbed my sleep. Standing right in front of me, his bright green eyes finding their way into mine again.

Last night with the sun long gone I didn't have the chance to see his features and the house being located in the forest with no extra light didn't help me make out his looks. Now is daylight and I have the chance to actually dig into his physiognomy.

This time I can truly see him, not only his eyes.

"You're wasting my time." He turns around and walks away.

I have to be reasonable, I am on his territory.

I get in closing the door behind me. It's a very simple office decorated in dark shades of maroon. On the right are resting a sofa and an armchair behind a small table. In the middle, right in front of the double window covered partially by long, heavy silk curtains is a big desk with stack of paper on it, and on the left, the whole wall is covered by shelves with books.

The office seem to match him perfectly, both leaving a cold feeling to settle in your heart.

When I walk toward the sofa, he is already seated on the armchair. I notice Zagan in the room scanning my body up and down carefully while I walk closer. He seems like he wants to memorise even the wrinkles my clothes might have.

After I seat down he doesn't waste any second and he places his hand on my right knee rubbing it. I smile at his affectionate gesture, but he continuously examines my face. He seems troubled.

"I want you both out of my property." Namjoon voices out sternly leaning backward in his armchair. He is looking straight at Zagan.

The first things I notice is his slicked back silver hair. My eyes continue to travel, observing his pointed nose and the sharp and prominent jaw.

"Won't happen." Zagan says smirking. He is vigilant trying to keep himself neutral to not show his feelings.

Namjoon jaw tightens, darting his eyes on me. I see a small flicker of rage appearing in them and I unconsciously grip Zagan's forearm, making him turn around to give me a reassuring smile.

The anxiety is eating me alive, my mind doesn't function well and I'm sweating wearing only a dark green satin top with thin straps and black jeans.

I must be experiencing other effects of the ritual. After all, it's the fourth day and the effects have to increase. I look up and I see him glancing at Zagan's hand on my knee, his eyes moving up to my grip on Zagan's arm, lingering on it for a moment.

He looks away and slightly parts his lips. I feel all the sensations my body perceive increased substantially and I get lost in this strange state I'm experiencing.

I feel dizziness, but when I look at him, I see him clearly. I see his not too plumb nor too thin lips, the bottom one slightly bouncing every time he's parting them. I see his right pierced earlobe tugged when he moves his head and his long earring tingling. I see a strap of silver hair defiance him and falling on his forehead, and him, not bothering to place it back at it place.

"Believe me, I don't want to stay around you either." Zagan talks and I jerk a few centimetres away gripping the sofa. I forgot he was beside me.

"Then don't." Namjoon says looking at me, I suppose he saw my reaction.

Something is not right.

"We got no choice."

"Stay with your kind." He's focusing his green eyes on Zagan, but Zagan is a hard person to read. He has always hidden his emotions behind confidence and arrogance, showing just what he wanted the others to see, not more.

"It's not possible."

"Why?" Don't. I turn my head toward Zagan instantly. I don't want Namjoon to find out who or what the others think about me.

Once people know, they look at me a certain way I hate and this time, for some reasons I don't want him to know. The thought of him knowing terrifies me terribly. I felt this strong feeling of panic rush through my cells in the second the three letters left his lips.

"It doesn't concern you." Zagan mutter, his hand finding it's way back on my knee. I didn't realised when he took it off.

"It does." Please, just don't.

"It doesn't." Zagan raises his voice. "After all, it's because of you."

Namjoon's eyes widen and his jaw snaps. Zagan's words obviously disturbed him because he seems ready to ambush him. My mind couldn't comprehend his reaction and Zagan's words. It felt like I was missing a very important piece of information.

"What do you mean?" I ask knitting my eyebrows together. Zagan turns seeming bewildered at my confused form. I definitely missed something. He inspects my face and closes his eyes for a second applying pressure on my knee.

"He's the alfa." He breathes out. "We're here to find his soulmate." A wave of heat travel in my whole body.

Realisation hits me and my eyes widen. My arms fill up with goosebumps and I feel my lungs burning up.

I fail to control my breathing and I take in a significant amount of air, letting out a sharp sound. I look in his direction burying my eyes into his. A feeling of reassurance embraces me when I discern he was already looking at me.

I'm in a strange need of his approval. Something to confirm me that what Zagan said earlier was the truth. His features are no longer filled with rage, but deep sadness reigns over him now.

I see something else flash through his eyes, but it disappears before I can attest what it was and he diverts his eyes away from mine.

Zagan's words were true and the proof was right in front of my eyes.

He was no longer looking at me.
