20 Reward

I woke up a bit later in the morning. Fortunately this is sunday, so there is no need to go to school. I tidied my bed and go downstairs. My dad was watching tv in the living room. My mother was preparing breakfast in the kitchen. But I don't see my sister anywhere.

"Where is Natalie, Mom ?" I asked My mother.

"Maybe she is still sleeping. Go upstairs and wake her up." said her. I nodded and go upstairs. I thought it's weird for her to wake up late. Usually, she wake up after mom did. I knocked her door.

"Hey, Natalie. Are you awake ?" I said. No response. I knocked once again. No response again. I opened the door and found her still sleeping in her bed. I saw her eyes slightly wet. I realized it was from last night. It seems she really afraid I didn't come back. I feel guilty. I approached her and pat her head.

"Wake up, my lovely little sister. It's already morning. Mom and Dad already waiting for you downstairs." I said gently. Her eyes move a little bit. She started to stretching her body. When her gaze landed on my face she froze and start to cry again. She embraced me tightly.

"You are back. You are really back. It's not a dream." she said. I smiled and pat her head to comfort her. After a while she release me and look at me. I smiled at her.

"Let's go. Mom and Dad probably waiting for us. Let's have a breakfast first." I said. She nodded her head. We go downstairs together. Mom and Dad already sat there and waiting for us. When we came, they smile and told us to sit as well. We sit at dining table and began to ate our breakfast.

I was lying on my bed when my phone ringing. I checked it. It was a message from Miss Ann. She told me to come to the base. She doesn't tell what is the matter but I'm sure it is related to our mission last night. I quickly change my clothes and went to the base. I showed the man in the front my id and immediately use the lift to main room. I found Miss Ann at her desk, busy with documents. I walk toward her desk and report.

"Ryan Smith, came to report, Miss."

"Don't be so stiff each time you came to me." said her. I nodded and relaxed my body.

"I told you to come to base to discussing about last night mission. Long story short, upper up will reward us a bonus because we can arrest the target as well his partner in crime. I've transferred it to your account. You can check it later. This is the paper about the reward you receive. You can check it. If the both was different, you can report it." she explain briefly. I nodded and take a look at the paper. I was shocked. It say that for this successful completion of the mission, it rewarded with 500 USD. It was clearly a monthly salary of ordinary government's official . And for the bonus, it was 350 USD. For this mission along with bonus, I earn the monthly salary of government's official chief.

"Don't be surprised. It is given to appreciate our effort when we put our life on line." she said with smile. I nodded.

"Oh, right. There is a warning given to you for intentionally firing a gun to the target. It's good that the target is shot. If it was you'll be detained." said her seriously. I nodded with cold sweat dripping on my forehead.

"Hahaha. It's alright. You can go now." said her.

"The, I bid my farewell." I replied. I back to the lift and left the base. The first thing I do was to search an atm. I want to check my account. It's not that I don't trust Miss Ann. But I want to confirm it. When the atm say that my account has 880 USD, I know the reward has transferred to my account. I thought about Natalie. She has been worrying about me. It would be nice for me to treat her. With that decided, I went home.

I found Natalie lying on her bed, playing with her phone. I lightly knocked her door.

"Can I go in ?" I asked with smile. She glanced at me.

"Come in." said her. I sat on her bed.

"What are you playing ?"

"Nothing, just scrolling. searching for something fun."

"Then, want to come with me ? I'll treat you something." I said with smile.

"What is this ? Is this your payday ?" asked her with grin.

"Well, technically yes. I got paid for completing the mission last night." I said honestly. I saw my sister's face darkened when I mentioned last night mission. I embraced her and start to cheer her.

"You don't need to think that I will endanger myself. I clearly know my capabilities and I'll run when I was at danger." I said. She nodded.

"Then what do you want ?" I asked her with smile.

"Just treat me something at family restaurant and accompany me to walk around the city." said her.

"Okay then."

"Get out. I need to change first." said her. I smiled and got out of her room.

Around 5 minutes later, she came out. She wore a summer dress. It has a simple color and an elegant design. It make her beautiful. I'm sure she will attract the attention of people at street.

"Then let's go." she said happily.

I smiled and followed behind her.
