22 My Dream

We all sat in Aaron's car as silence filled the seats. He turned on the car and drove off. But I still had so many questions. I turned over to look at Aaron next to me then glanced in the back watching my mother hold Layla. I looked back at Aaron, "What if someone finds those dead bodies?" I asked. Aaron chuckled, "They're bad people Sky, they have many enemies. I'm surprised they weren't dead before we got there. I think the police would be happy they're gone" he replied.

"Who is Layla to you, Aaron?" I asked without hesitation.

Aaron glanced at me before keeping his eyes on the road, "She's my daughter... My princess" He said with a soft smile. I was shocked, Aaron had a daughter? That explains why he gave off that mother vibe.

"Aaron, do you work with the police?" I questioned. He quickly glanced at me once more, "what's with all the questions?" he asked.

"I just... want to know the real you," I mumbled.

Aaron placed his hand on my head and rubbed it softly, messing up my hair, "I don't work with the police. I find missing people for rich families. Sometimes my job gets bloody. I'm like a police officer in a way"

"How come you've never got caught?" I asked once more.

"That's my secret" He winked and moved his hand from my head.

"Why did you lie to me about your job?" I asked another question.

"I didn't think you would understand any of it but once I've heard what you've been through and everything. I figured you would" He explained. "I will cook dinner for tonight, what do you want?" Aaron smiled, quickly changing the conversation. I thought about something that sounds good at the moment "Tacos?" I suggested.

"Tacos again? You like the way I make it, huh?"

I nodded, "Yeah, it's great..." I mumbled and rubbed my head. I started having a tremendous headache. Sounds of bells could be heard and inching closer every second.

"Sky, your nose is bleeding again. Are you sure your okay? Do I need to get you a doctor's appointment tomorrow?" Aaron sounded concerned, but I couldn't understand everything he was saying. His voice was fading out and all I could hear was ringing bells. That's when everything went bright white.

I looked around me and I was no longer in a car or sitting in a seat. I was on the ground, a white ground. It looked as if I was in a pure white room, but I saw no doors or corners. I looked down at my hands and feet. Sure enough, I was alive.

"Sky?" a deep but soft voice could be heard behind me. It was all too familiar. I quickly stood up and turned around. There before me was my love, Vincent. This was just like the dreams I've been having, but it would usually end here. Was my brain playing tricks on me again?

"Is that really you, Vincent?" I asked.

He smiled and nodded as he ran to me and hugged me tightly, "I finally got ahold of you!" he whispered in my ear.

I hugged him back tightly; I wanted to believe this was all real, but my mind has tricked me too many times to believe it this one.

Vincent kissed my cheek gently and pulled away to look at me "You don't know how many times I've tried this" he smiled brightly at me. I saw his ruby-red eyes shine with happiness, making my heart melt.

"What's going on, Vincent? What is this?"

"I bond you to me for life. I've claimed you the night we kissed. I can speak to you through your dreams, but it only lasts for so long. I need to tell you something very important," He explained quickly.

"What is it?" I asked, worried.

"Because it bonds you to me, there are only so many days we can live without each other. If we aren't together soon, we'll die. I can't seem to drink anyone else's blood and I'm hungry..." His eyes saddened a bit as he placed his arms around me "I can even feel your body's life slowly draining... I don't want to lose you, Sky," he whimpered softly and held me tighter.

I narrowed my eyes at him and held him tighter, "You won't lose me and I won't lose you. Where are you?"

His eyes shined once more, "I'm in the woods near the mansion, Butler Clart saved my life. I'm in bad shape, but I can't heal as fast as I use too. I need you..." he placed his forehead against mine.

I smiled softly "It will be okay, I'll be there soon" I placed my hands against his cheeks and kissed him on the nose lightly but he purposely moved his head up to kiss my lips instead. My cheeks turn red, I felt flustered. I could hear his soft chuckle "I love you Sky"

Before I could even say the words back, it forced my eyes to open. I stared up at the ceiling above me and took in a deep breath to let it out. Why did it have to end so fast? Was that all real? I have to make sure! As soon as I was about to sit up, I was held down gently by Aaron "Woah, buddy. Calm down. You fainted in the car and scared us half to death. I brought you to the hospital to make sure your okay."

My mother walked into the room with bottles of water. She looked at me and smiled softly, "Good morning baby" She put the waters down and quickly came to my side to hug me. She gave me a gentle kiss on the forehead. I smiled softly "thanks mom"

I looked over at Aaron, "I'm fine, can we leave now? I know where he is. I have to go get him" when I tried sitting up, I couldn't. My chest felt heavy and so did my limbs. Why was I so weak? I feel like I'm carrying a hundred pounds on each body part.

"See? You can't even move. You need to relax" Aaron said, pushing my hair away from my eyes. Layla crawled on top of the bed and laid next to me. She gave me a small smile and cuddled up into my chest, like a little puppy.
