11 Chapter 10

"Do you have all the scrolls I gave you? The food, the sleeping bag, the pills..." said Grandma questioning me without end

"Yes, yes, yes, and yes Grandma don't worry I'm no longer a kid." I said acting like an adolescent

"You will always be a child for me Yuichi." she said with a warm smile

"You're embarrassing him in front of his friends Mito-san." said Tobirama

"What? I can't worry about my grandson? Oh and don't worry Yuichi I will teach Tsunade properly." she said the latter part with her hand in front of her mouth to hide her smirk

"Grandma!" said Tsunade embarrassed

"Enjoy your YOUTH Yuichi! And I promise I will become stronger when you come back!" loudly said Dai

"I'm eager to see what interesting stuff you will bring Yuichi-san." said Orochimaru while licking his lips

"Enjoy your trip." muttered Shikuro

"Don't worry I will protect Tsunade-chan if you di-" tried to say Jiraiya before getting punched by Tsunade making his head meet the ground

"Who needs your protection huh? And he won't die alright!" said Tsunade provoked

"You guys will never change huh...Don't worry I won't die, and I hope you will be stronger once I come back." I said

"If you do some weird stuff out there don't show Konoha's symbol alright? I don't want to deal with the aftermath of your 'long duration mission'..." said Hiruzen with an Anbu beside him with spiky silver hair

"I will try old man." I said before departing for good

And I already know where I want to go during my journey, there are some important places but on the way, I want to gather as many different medicinal plants as possible that are not easy to get because I want to try something with them.

The first place I want to go is Mount Jofuku, mainly the Jofuku Forest because only at this place the Jofuku Flower can grow...It is said to be able to cure most illnesses.

I need to get my hands on it and research what it can do for sure as well as finding a way to grow it outside of the forest.

Also, in this era, the properties of the flower are still mostly unknown.

Thankfully with my stamina and speed, I could get near the border of the Land of Fire rapidly, seeing the mountain in question which contains the forest I looked for.

And I have to say...Almost all forest in this world seems to have enormous trees and giants roots present in the surface.

Strangely enough, I did not see any camp or any places people could live within anywhere near the forest.

It seems that the place is still poorly known or that people going inside did not return or found about the properties of the flower.

Getting deeper into the forest I could see what I was looking for, otherworldly flowers glowing with seven colors growing everywhere on the ground.

What I want to try with medicinal plants is something I feel Hashirama could've done if he developed his wood release with more than just using wood...

While thinking about this I uprooted one of them to start my gathering...And at this instant, I knew I f*cked up.

Those flowers had a defense mechanism when they are plucked out, they produce a sort of pollen that takes the form of your arch-enemy but this wasn't the case for me.

What happened in front of me was a bunch of wood kneading together to form a certain Shinobi.

Because the flowers also create whoever you think about when you pick them up...And I thought of Hashirama.

'He should only have the techniques I saw him use so it should be safe because he died when I was you-'

My thinking was interrupted when I saw him create a frecking giant wood dragon rushing towards me.

'Fuck memories of my previous life! Of course I saw all his techniques!' I thought as I jumped far from my position to evade the attack...

It seems like he could perfectly control the wood dragon because wherever I was moving it would follow me.

And if this wasn't enough I saw him creating fast-moving trunks from his body to also chase me down.

'Wind Release: Thousand Wind Cutter Technique' I mentally said as I created a large amount of wind from my mouth that shaped like thousand blades of wind towards the wood dragon.

It effectively cut the dragon into pieces but only for it to reconstruct itself thanks to the false Hashirama presence.

'I need to get rid of him in one fast move'

So I took a Kunai from my pouch and launched it toward the wood Hashirama missing him planning the Kunai on the ground behind.

The instant his woods trunks encircle me letting the dragon effortlessly reach me I used the 'Flying Thunder God Technique' teleporting me behind him and in a swift movement, I used 'Fire release: Fire Blast' to burn him until nothing is left by creating an instantaneous fire explosion from my mouth

Seeing the wood attacks disappear I knew he was done for, thank God he seemed to be restricted in terms of Hashirama's techniques or else it would have been a life and death battle...For a f*cking flower.

Now I only have one flower, if I have to fight against someone I think each time I uproot one of them I guess I will think about a young Sakura and it will be a breeze even if there is a hundred of them.

I will try something to safely pluck them but in case it doesn't work I need to constantly think about a young Sakura...Which is also painful.

I took one of the many sealing scrolls Grandma gave me and approached a flower with it then plucked it and activated with my other hand the seal, creating a vacuum sucking all the pollen.

At least I don't have to fight an army of young Sakura.

After an entire day removing most of the Jofuku Flowers of the forest I decided to stop here.

I had a scroll full of pollen and another one full of Jofuku Flowers, I don't know how much but it doesn't matter.

I had scrolls that could contain an extremely large amount of the same thing and I hope I would be able to learn how to make a scroll capable of containing almost everything I could carry in a single one.

Basing it on some system inventories, I'm sure it is doable.

For now, let's go to bed 'Wood Release: Four-Pillar House Technique' I mentally said creating a wooden house with the same style as Konoha's building.

I added some tags to create a barrier and have a peaceful night.

*The next day*

I got up early today to start my experiment using the flowers I picked up.

I'm always in awe about the possibilities Wood Release has...You can do so much more than what is known and today I want to push it to the next level.

With the release, you can create wood with different levels of hardness and malleability...But from what trees does it take their properties?

I realized that they do not take it from any tree but from the user's cells to 'create' the wood, and depending on the user's wish it change properties and do not come from any existing plants.

But now what if you could produce existing plants? Hashirama could grow trees by using near-existing ones as a model and even a sort of lotus but did not seem to grow a variety of plants...

Then if you push the release further you should be able to not only generate an existing plant but even what the so-called plant can produce!

Imagine being able to produce the pollen of the Jofuku Flower, you could have an army of the opponents' arch-enemy!

If you can produce fruits or maybe vegetables then food will never be an issue.

If you can produce resin or rubber you could use them either in combat or for goods production.

The possibilities are insane and I'm eager to perfect them.

But right now I'm still not sure how can I create a Jofuku flower from almost nothing...

So I need to find a way and the most logical would be to perfectly understand the flower cellular composition.

Thankfully, I have multiples things that will help me with this issue.

First is my Tenseisharingan, it can help me see more than what both eyes could separately discern, allowing me to watch the flower at its cellular level is not hard at all.

Second, I was studying biology in my past life, only for three years because I died but long enough to have a good understanding of plants.

Third, I read everything the Konoha's library had to offer before going on my trip to have as much information I could in most subjects.

So I activated the Sharingan and I could see how alive this flower seemed to be even after being uprooted.

I could discern why the corolla was so much colorful and even now it still produces a rainbow light.

I was more interested in the flower ovary and microsporangium, in simpler terms the flower reproductive system, to be able to convert some of my cells to be like the flower's one and grow it as well as making it mature faster if not instantly with my chakra.

Now I will spare you the part where I go deeper into details.

My research will take some time because I will need to find the reason for the plant's medical property and the pollen too.

But I'm just starting my vaca- long-duration mission and I will have a lot more plants to analyze so I will do my research in the long run instead.

My next stop is another place present in the Land of Fire, the Valley of Judgement. What I want is the Eye Medicine Plant that should either grow there naturally or by the hands of its inhabitants.

I know that the place is near impossible to navigate through if you do not have a Dōjutsu, which is not my case.

The unknown factor is the inhabitants because they are completely black humanoid form without eyes and they cannot live outside the thick mist the valley possess.

If I have to confront them to get a sample of the plant I will not hesitate to kill them if they annoy me too much.

I arrived at the valley during the night and decided to go to the bottom of it to start searching the Eye Medicine Plant.

And after hours of investigation, I discovered nothing but rocks, not a single trace of vegetation to the point I'm wondering how the inhabitant survive here.

But I may have found a clue, the mist seems to be coming from somewhere within the valley because it does not move randomly but follow a direction so I decided to go toward this place.

And when I felt like I was nearing the center of the mist a flurry of Kunai was sent toward me.

I avoided them and could see the perpetrators, a dozen of them to be precise, either crawling or walking strangely but with decent speed around me.

When I tried to run toward them they always moved away from me keeping me at distance and sending me Kunai again and again.

'It's weird, I can't reach them even though I'm extremely fast'

I tried to send a Kunai at them but it was easily dodged, I used the 'Flying Thunder God Technique' to get near them instantly and I was able to kick three of them...Sending one of them on the wall but my leg just passed through the other two.

To be sure I used my Tenseisharingan to see them more clearly but when I looked toward them some were indistinguishable within the mist, almost like they were the mist itself.

But the one I sent to the wall was visible, it seems he was the only one so I was lucky with my previous assault.

Weirdly enough, I could not see a single trace of chakra or even blood...No, it was not something alive.

I saw it move again like it wasn't even affected by my kick so I tried something else 'Wind Release: Spinning Whirlwind' this was to disperse the mist around me which worked until my technique vanished and the mist reassembled itself again.

I tried using other Ninjutsu to hit the only one who seemed real but all of it was useless.

'I guess I will rush to the place it's coming from without caring about them'

So I did and after a long run getting chase down by crawling weird black humanoid beings who kept on sending me Kunai I found a cave where the mist was thicker than usual.

The cave had multiple paths possible so I quickly made clones to be sure to not miss a single area inside.

I took the direction with the most mist coming from it and while I was still chased down I saw the same humanoids getting out from the rocky walls to my sides, they seem to phase through them when they appeared.

After a while, I finally saw the end of the passway and when I got into a bigger area I was greeted by a weird-looking giant tree.

The tree main trunk was oval, had its roots coming from all sides, and planted everywhere around be it the ceiling, walls, or ground.

It also looked alive because the wood seemed fleshy in texture and color.

It had a lot of white balls with a black spot hanged on every branch which looked almost like eyeballs, a really disturbing sight.

I could also see that the mist came from the center of the tree, behind a treant-like mouth.

When I was in the cavity I looked behind me to see all the black lifeforms not daring to go further but also saw my clones in other entry meaning that each path led there.

'At least I can be at ease here to study the tree'

Because this was the only 'plant' I saw in the valley I guess the Eye Medicine Plant is in front of me.

Now I'm excited to reveal its mysteries.
