6 Hard work paying off

On an island in East Blue, the sun was shining in the middle of the sky, singling it's already midday.

Standing on the beach, Eragon packed his things neatly on the sand as he decided it was time to take a break, going to swim for a change. Inside the sea, Eragon quickly dived deeper, as he felt intoxicated when his skill [Swimming] kicks into action, making him like fish inside water.

Close to a month passed since Eragon made things straight with Caroline. And gradually, some sort of routine was made.

During the day, he goes to the eastern forest to hunt, each time putting himself in harm's way to stimulate his dull soldier instincts. He believed It was essential to get back in shape as soon as possible. after all, Eragon plans to set sail from this island the moment he feels he has the capability to survive in one-piece world, against the monsters in human skin out there.

Although he pushes himself to the absolute limit, remaining with barely enough strength to stand by the end of each day, he still insists on having his ecchi time with his mother. Not willing to miss or skip it for a single day.

As Caroline overcame her guilty conscience, she started to be more courageous as days passed, deepening their bond to the next stage. She even started "explaining" to Eragon the correct terms for the things they were doing since she couldn't stand to continue hearing him saying he "peed" all the time, not knowing she was teaching an already professor on the subject…

Whatever she taught him, they tried in bed, just last week Eragon finely got his first fellatio in this world, leaving him eagerly awaiting the subject of "how children are made".

But, Eragon already learned his lesson not to rush Caroline, letting her choose the pace of advancement.

One thing he couldn't explain to her is why he was so good in bed, always managing to cause her great pleasure with his touch even though he was supposed to be a novice at this. He didn't want to expose his system to her, It's not that he didn't trust her, it's because Caroline was too kind and people might take advantage of it, making her blurt It out unintentionally.

Enjoying the cold water, Eragon opened the system interface, he was proud to see his hard work paying off. Rapid changes were happening to the system almost every couple of days.

The list went on as he bought many skills he thought would be useful. Of course, except for the experience points used to buy these skills, he didn't use any exp on the useless skills to level them up, letting them progress on their own. At first, they leveled up rather quickly but the higher the skills level got, the more exp they required to level up again.

Currently, his chakra was a lot stronger than before, aiding him in increasing his hunting speed. If he was asked to guess, Eragon would say it's about mid genin level. This was purely guessing from what he saw in the anime, he couldn't be certain since there wasn't anyone to consult within this world.

He was really kind of upset as he still didn't get any sub-skill even though it was already level 4. But for some reason, he had a feeling the next level will be different.

The downside of all the hunting he did the past month, was putting his training on pause. He didn't have time to train and also to hunt.

The training he did wasn't using some weapon trying to get more skilled, for that he had the system to help him. But what the system couldn't do for him is improving his constitution, making him more physically strong. This is why before he got his system activated, he spent all of his time doing strength exercises. He considered putting some weights while hunting, but he quickly scratched that idea as it was too dangerous.

But he wasn't worried since he knew he would continue his training eventually. In the meantime, he was hunting with all his strength, saving the experience points.

Eragon was currently having such a huge sum of unused experience points for a certain skill he sought after ever since he got Chakra, believing that the said skill if developing well, will allow him to dominant the sea!

He could use it to slay sea monsters with a single strike and defeat the strongest man alive, Whitebeard. Even destroying a legend, like killing the unkillable Kaido should not be a problem with this skill...

Obviously, it was [Ki]!

To level mountains with a single punch and dry the sea using an energy blast. Of course, Eragon knows that his Ki won't be so overpowered at the start, but it's potential is what got his imagination running.

He knows chakra also has great capabilities, but it's more focused on versatility rather than pure power. Having many different techniques capable to manipulate nature

And to get ki, he only needs 300 more experience points. If he is lucky, perhaps by the end of the day he will get it.

While he was fantasizing about himself flying in the sky doing Kamehameha.

He suddenly noticed a black dote far away in the sea, quickly approaching in his direction. Straining his eyes, he managed to see a black flag with White Bones painted on it.

Startled, he quickly swims back to the beach and grabs his stuff, hiding close enough to see what they are planning to do.

'What is a pirate ship doing here? if they wanted to resupply then they needed to go to the West side of the island, in the direction of the Nili kingdom' as he was hiding, Eragon began to ponder ‏about the purpose of the pirates, and then it suddenly hit him 'the village! they are here to raid the village!'

Figuring out what the pirates are planning, he knows he couldn't let them do as they wish. Not because he was some kind of Saint believing it was his mission to save innocent people in danger.

He has to protect Caroline!

Even if it means he has to take risks stopping the pirates, he has to do it. In his previous life, he didn't have a family, so he will do anything to keep the one he has in this life!

After considering for a moment, he decided against returning to the village to evacuate his mother. it is wiser to stay and see what the pirates are planning before deciding on his next move.

Making up his mind, he waited for the ship to approach. And after a few minutes, the ship finally arrived and about a dozen pirates came to the beach

Concentrating on the pirate's faces, he saw someone bare-chested with a bandana on his left eye, not covering his scar entirely. He managed to identify him from the wanted posters he saw in the newspapers.

Mir, captain of the paper pirates. bounty: 1 million berry!

Knowing the captain was this weak and seeing them have less than a dozen people, Eragon signed in ‏relief, figuring that with a good plan, he might have a chance to kill them without too much trouble.

As he watched them walking around the beach, he saw them staring at a map before throwing it away angrily immediately after. understanding they didn't know which direction the village was, Eragon quickly hides his knife inside his clothes and the backpack below some random rock.

Looking at himself, not seeing anything wrong, he exited his hideout and started walking toward the pirates.

Bang!

Just as he approached the pirates he saw the captain punching someone next to him in anger.

"You fool! you only have one job, and even then you fail??" Angrily shouting he continued to kick him.

"Captain look, there's someone here" one of the pirates pointed in the direction of the approaching Eragon

Stopping immediately, Mir looked at the direction his subordinate was pointing at, seeing a kid looking at them curiously.

Instantly shooting a meaningful look at his crew, he started approaching Eragon with a fake smile on his face "hello there! What's your name kid?"

He didn't expect to stumble across someone here, but since lady luck was shining upon him he won't complain.

"My name is Eragon, who are you people?" doing his best to talk in a curious voice, he answered.

"well, we're merchants sailing the sea, moving from island to island. But we are kind of lost now... Is your village nearby?" the captain asked trying to look pitiful unsuccessfully with his fierce-looking face.

"Yes"‏ ‏he replied with way better-acting skills than the captain

"Is it possible for you to take us to your village? I'll be sure to give you a present as a reward" thrilled, the captain saw hope.

"A present?? sure, I'll take you to the Village, follow me!" saying this, Eragon turned around, entering into the forest.

Seeing the kid getting excited at the notion of a present, Mir smirked.

"Guys, we are moving!" After yelling, he followed Eragon with his crew quickly tagging along.

Looking back, Eragon could see them following him into the forest without hesitation. He couldn't help but smile when he thought about what he planed for then Inside. And it was obviously not his village…
