Getting 10,000 Experience Points

Walking through the forest, the pirates laugh among themselves, feeling relaxed enough to have shared jokes with one another. It didn't seem like they were on their way to start on a massacre, rather, it appears like they were heading to a party.

The captain, however, was not participating in their fooling around, looking at Eragon intensely feeling that something was wrong, he just couldn't put his finger on it.

They walked deeper into the forest, the trees around them started to become wider and higher with the foliage getting denser the deeper they penetrated inside the forest. needing to spend a lot of effort to clear a path for them to walk with all the vegetation around.

"Captain, something's wrong" a youth whispered in the captain's ear, he was wearing a black T-shirt with some sort of weird green gloves on his hands, taking out his sword looking more alert slowly examining the tracks of wild animals.

"I know" without taking his eyes out of Eragon, he uttered back with his instincts ringing.

"Eragon, how much longer until we reach the village?" one of the pirates couldn't resist asking, impatient already.

"Just a little longer" Looking back at the pirates, Eragon knew some of them were starting to suspect him, feeling like the direction they are going is wrong, but he didn't really care as they were already close enough to his intended place.

After some time, the captain suddenly understood what was wrong with this situation 'he's too quiet, normally a kid should be more active and curious, I can't remember the last time my cousin shut his mouth'

Just as he was about to open his mouth to stop them from furthering inside the forest, a loud roar sound behind them scaring them shitless.

Hurriedly turning around they were greeted with the sight of a huge brown bear charging towards them like a tank. The captain's expressions changed as he finally understood they fell for a trap.

Sweat covered his face, Immediately turning around to look for Eragon only to find no one there.

"Shit! Don't scatter around or we will get lost!" cursing, he didn't have the time to search for Eragon In this kind of dangerous situation.

"Gather around and kill it!" although his crew was frightened, they still managed to hold themselves back from fleeing at the sight of the huge beast. With pale faces, they began taking their weapons out attacking the bear from all sides.

'Hehehe, that's right, continue fighting, the best scenario is for both sides to suffer and be gravely injured' high above sitting on one of the trees, Eagon was looking at them fighting, greening. Last week when he came to this place he almost got himself killed by this bear, luckily for him his [running] skill was high enough at the time, allowing him to barely escape alive.

Bang! Bang!

After one of their friends died to a claw attack, the rest didn't dare to confront the bear in close range, opting to fire at it from afar, thinking it quite smart since the bear was big and moving slow.

"Stop shooting! we have to fight in close range!" after firing dozens of shots, Mir finally noticed the bear was unharmed, its skin was only having white scars from where the bullets hit.

Sweat covering their faces they started fighting in close range again, and the casualties started to rise once more. Frightened that by the end of the battle he wouldn't have any men left alive, Mir knew he has to do something as the current situation couldn't continue.

'Ahhhh shit! I just bought it and now I need to use it in a place like this, I'm gonna catch that kid for sure, making him beg he didn't meet us' With a twisted expression, seemingly making a tough decision he took out a bundle of clothes from his pocket, holding it carefully as it will break at the slightest touch.

Opening the wraps, inside was a small red ball, looking like the color fresh blood.

"Watch out!" throwing the little red ball at the bear, he didn't forget to warn his crew to get them out of the away.

BOOM!!!

With a huge blast deafening their ears, the red ball hit the bear squarely on the head, making a huge explosion.

'Mmmm?? wasn't that a Muggy Ball? It seems he knows Buggy the clown well enough for him to get a Muggy Ball' A little surprised to see Mir take out a Muggy Ball, he looked as the poor bear was hit hard on the head by the explosion. when the fire finally faded away, he saw the brown bear lying on the ground with its head wide open, obviously dead…

Eragon wasn't worried his plan failed, knowing the brown bear still had a mate somewhere around here. he still remembers the heart attack he almost got last week when the second bear seemingly popped out from nowhere.

"ROAR"

Just as he thought, when the pirates started to breathe in relief thinking they are safe, they heard another roar coming from their other direction. Praying to every God they could remember, hoping it wasn't what they thought it was. They stiffly turned around to see another 3 meters bear charging in their direction with its eyes completely bloodshot, completely mad by its companion's death.

'if only that bitch was willing to sell me another one, he treats these balls like they are his freaking children' Gritting his teeth in frustration, Mir knew they didn't stand a chance against another bear without a Muggy Ball.

"Run!" turning around he escaped without any hesitation. Doing exactly what he told his crew not to do previously

The rest of the pirates only reacted when the bear was already amongst them tearing one of them into pieces with its claws, like frightened rabbits they started escaping in all directions.

Seeing them escaping, Eragon rapturously started to swing on the trees Tarzan's style chasing after the escaping captain, knowing that killing Mir was a top priority to guarantee his village safety.

After a few minutes of running, Mir finally stopped, leaning on a tree while laboriously trying to breathe. Not knowing there was someone on the tree above him staring at him intensely.

'Now is the best time to strike while he's distracted' inching closer from above, he stopped when he was exactly above his target and jump with his knife to his front.

Hearing the wind whistling above him Mir instinctively tried to dodge out of the way, but it was already too late as by the time he started to move a knife already pierced his back, reaching all the way to his heart.

Struggling to turn his head and look who was the one who killed him, he finally managed to see a kid with an indifferent face looking at him with emotionless eyes.

Finally understanding he wasn't blessed by lady luck, as he was already cursed by the devil the moment he met Eragon.

He lost his consciousness not before he regrets not killing Eragon on the beach.

Looking at Mir lying in his pool of blood, Eragon didn't feel any remorse or guilt, he already killed many people in his past life so he was already kind of numb to it. not to mention this piece of scum really had it coming...

While hearing the sweet sound of the system notifying him he got exp, he ran back to look for more surviving pirates. he needs to make sure none of them leave this forest alive.

Scanning the trails, he picked one and started running in the direction it leads to with full speed circulating his chakra to his leg to increase his speed as much as it can, eventually reaching another breathing pirate. It was the same youth wearing a black T-shirt who suspected him.

"Mmmm? it's you! you little bastard! you are the one who got us into this mess!!" hearing someone approaching the youth jumped in fright, but when he saw it was Eragon he got so mad he started yelling in a red face, swinging his sword at Eragon trying to kill him where he stands.

Sidestepping, Eragon easily dodged the sword while circulating his chakra. Noticing the youth stagger, losing his footing because of the unexpected dodge, he threw his knife aiming at the youth's throat, easily killing him.

Not knowing when a knife was already in his throat, the youth looked incredulously at Eragon before falling down.

Concentrating, he tries to remember the scene of the escaping pirates 'mm, 3 managed to escape, and now after killing two there still remains one at large'

Calculating the time it will take him to track the remaining pirate, he knew he wouldn't make it in time to catch him. so he could only gamble that he will try to return to the ship as he runs away.

"Since you won't need it anymore, why not gift it to me? after all, I was such a great guide" picking up the sword from the dead youth he quickly left in the direction of the beach.

If the youth was alive to hear Eragon's words he will probably die again from anger.

It seemed he was quite lucky since on route he found the remaining pirate, swiftly decapitating him from behind with his new sword.

Releasing a breath, Eragon finally allowed himself to relax knowing the only remaining pirates were still waiting on the ship, not knowing their friends and captain are already dead.

Deciding to continue his way towards the shore to get his backpack, he finally has time to check his system. Previously he was too preoccupied with tracking the pirates to notice the notifications.

Opening the system he was pleased to see he finally got to his goal, he has more than 10,000 experience points!
