Waking Up in Another World

"Mreow, mreow" *lick lick*. 'What is this? Why do I feel like something is licking me? Ugh my head hurts. Why are my walls look like a rundown hut? I remember trying to finish my final projects in my room.' Li Wenmin opened his eyes and was shocked to see his nude-coloured room turns into a thatched brown ancient room. He looked left and right and saw a black cat beside him looking at him with big eyes. "Heihei! No wonder I felt like something was licking my face. It was you!". Wenmin was so happy to see his cat, he scooped Heihei up and kissed his small face with delight. "Heihei, where do you think we are right now? Why does this place look so old? AH! Do you think we transmigrated to another world?". Wenmin knew a little bit about transmigration as he read a lot of novels about fantasy, rebirth, transmigration and the list goes on. Li Wenmin was studying literature back in his original world and he reads a lot of books, but Wenmin was rotten, he especially likes BL! A straight 23-year-old university student, instead of actually reading books related to his course, he indulges himself in gay novels and mangas.

Wenmin walked out of his room, holding Heihei in his arms, he started to look for clues as to where he is and which era he is now. Outside of his room, he saw a small living room to his right with only a few wooden chairs and a dining table. 'I really am in another world. Look at this floor, it looks like it was made with pounded earth. Even the walls were made of mud, I guess the original body is just a peasant or common person huh' Wenmin muttered to himself. He turn left and found a door to the kitchen. There's a wood-burning stove, a barrel-like sink, and a few high tables that look like a modern-day island tables. 'The kitchen looks clean though, guess he lives alone. The tableware shows that it's only been used by one person. Luckily enough, I don't have to act in front of the original body's parents.' Wenmin said whispered to himself. Wenmin also found a small room with a big barrel of water and I guess a hole for doing your business? At least the bathroom is in the house and not outside of it.

Wenmin put Heihei down and went inside the bathroom, he checked the water and was surprised to look at his reflection. He used to have a normal not-so-light and not-so-tan skin tone due to him always staying indoors, but his skin tone now looks like those jade-like skin colours mc that he read in those bl novels. He has round eyes, thin eyebrows, small pink lips and a cute small nose. Looking at how he didn't have to bend his head when he walked out of his room, I guess I got my original height which is 162cm in my original world. 'But why are my eyes and my hair colour slightly brown? Looking at the clothes, it certainly looks like those ancient Chinese clothes peasants usually wear. Maybe one of the original body's parents is from a different race?'. Heihei stared at Wenmin who was staring at his reflection in the bathroom while licking his butt.

Wenmin went outside of his house and found out that there is a small vegetable plot opposite the kitchen, some neatly arranged firewood and a well just a few steps away from the vegetable plot. Looking at how there is a well in this courtyard, either the parents built it or the original body's owner is well enough to build one. There weren't that many rooms in the house, Wenmin remembered seeing only two rooms, the room he woke up in and another one opposite his and the house doesn't look like the typical ancient Chinese courtyard houses that Wenmin visited when he travelled to Beijing during his semester break. There's only a house, a vegetable plot, and a well and it seems that there are stone walls surrounding the land and the house and the main entrance. "At least the house is safe enough right Heihei?" Wenmin said while looking at Heihei who was standing beside his leg.

When Wenmin was checking his courtyard, someone suddenly knocked on his door, "Wenmin! Wenmin! Are you home? It's me, Xinyi." 'The original's body name is the same as me' thought Wenmin. "Wait a minute! I'm coming." Wenmin rushed to open the door and saw a slender short boy, carrying a basket in his arms and smiling at him. Wenmin saw this boy in the memories of the original's body, Chen Xinyi, is his childhood friend and they always played together when they were children but Wenmin stopped seeing Xinyi a few days ago when his daddy dies and his father has long been out of the picture. 'WAIT A MINUTE! His parents are men?! Is this the mpreg or ger world that he always reads of?!' Wenmin eyes enlarged in surprise when he realised the fact that he's also a ger and even though the gers in this world don't have the usual red marks on their forehead like in the novels, the gers in this world are physically weaker and smaller than normal men. There are women but there are not a lot of them and most of the women only marry men from the capital to have better lives instead of farming or living in poor country conditions.

"Xinyi, it's been a long time. I'm sorry for not seeing you for a while." Wenmin said while inviting Xinyi inside his house. Xinyi entered the house while looking around. Wenmin handed him a cup of water, "I'm sorry there's nothing in the house right now I can only serve you a cup of water. What are you doing here?" Wenmin asked with a little polite smile on his face. 'It's better to have someone with a good relationship in this world or I'm just going to end up alone in an unfamiliar place' Wenmin said in his heart. "Aiya, Wenmin! I need to tell you something. My mom told me that your Aunt Chen has been telling the villagers that they would separate you from the Chen family as your daddy has died. They don't want to raise you because you're 16 years old now and she said you can feed yourself like your daddy. That old hag is really despicable! Even if your surname is different you are still their biological nephew! How can that old Chen family want to separate from you?" Xinyi said with wrinkled eyebrows. Wenmin felt relieved that at least someone in this world was concerned about him.

Wenmin remembered the Chen Family, this village called the Chenjiagou (Chen Village) which is dominated by the Chen family, the village head is called Chen Yichen and he is a level-headed and fair village head. There are some residents of this village who are not from the Chen Family as they wanted to have more people in the village. Wenmin's father, surnamed Li, is not from this village, Wenmin's daddy met him when he was selling baozi in the town and the two interact a lot during those times. Wenmin's daddy, Chen Yingyue was one of the village's most beautiful ger. He was also very kind and a hard-working ger. Many girls and women in the village felt envious of him and the men are always giving him stuff but Chen Yingyue never accepted any of them. Wenmin's aunt, Chen Lihua, despite having a good name, was the opposite of the meaning. She likes to bully Chen Yingyue and always slanders Yingyue in front of the Chen elders. Wenmin's uncle is the type of man who's lazy and only did his work after being scolded or told so many times. Yingyue is the only one in his generation who is not lazy and lives up to his name. When Wenmin remembered these things, he finally made a decision to live independently and avoid any trouble from the Chen Family as he read in many novels that if you don't separate from these troublesome families, your life won't be easy. Wenmin thought that his accumulated knowledge from reading all those bl novels might be his cheat skills in this world.

"Xinyi, you don't have to worry ah. I'll try to do something so as not to get into muddy waters with the Chen Family in the future. But I need your help to make it come true. You have to call the villagers, cun zhang and also the village elders to the Chen family's house for me. Can you do it? I will go to the Chen family's house tomorrow afternoon to settle the accounts with them." Wenmin said with a sneer on his face. Xinyi was surprised, he knew that Wenmin was kind-hearted and hardworking like his daddy but he had never seen Wenmin so bold. Maybe the death of Wenmin's ama changed Wenmin to become stronger and braver. Whatever it is, Xinyi vowed to help his friend and promise Wenmin to gather the villagers and the important people of the village at Chen's family house tomorrow.
