2 Ch 2

Back then, he knew so little about life and based his actions on fictions and movies. It was for this reason that he developed a horrifying diseases called 'chuunibyou'. He was young back then, arrogant and prideful about his abilities when he realized that he was unique among all people.

He was a famous troublemaker during elementary, feared both by proper students and delinquents, a constant headache to the teacher.

One day he confessed to a girl he liked, who was a little older than him. "Rejoice lowly peasant, this divine being has taken interest in you!"

All he received was a pitiful gaze directed towards him. Everyone stared at him weirdly, some even smirked knowingly. Even a thick headed person like him felt that something was wrong and he made a tactical retreat, feeling a bit embarrassed after that experience.

The more he he thought about it, the more shame he felt. The shame rose up and cleared his muddled head.

At last,he opened his eyes and realized in relief that it was a dream. The real event did happen though, and even now that thorn from the past continues to torment his innermost being. Even his God Eye's side-effect did nothing to ease it.

The sunlight entered the small room he was in. It was made of wood and other poor quality materials.

Seeing this scene reminded him of his current situation.

'Let the past be gone as it should.'

With the new opportunity that he had obtained through death, he would forge a relatively peaceful childhood and overcome his inner demons, perhaps then, he could turn into an actual divine being.

He immediately shook his head. His thoughts just now was subconsciously drawn into becoming a badass, this isn't a good sign.

He got up from bed and washed himself up. After all, the different immortal sects would descend to nearby villages, including the one he is residing in, to recruit suitable disciples for their sect.

"Fang Ru, have a breakfast first." His mother called out. This was a family of villagers who lived of foraging and hunting. Fang Yu was the name he was given in this life. From the sound of it, he should be an easterner now.

The family had four members, him, his mother and father and a sister who was a month old. He was 5 years old.

Adel did not find any attachment to his current or past family, however, he still acted like a good and obedient child. His parents would look at him strangely when he spoke in a respectful way, the neighbors would nag their children and use his well mannerism as the standard for other children to follow. Naturally, children wouldn't give a shit about such things, they do what they want and let the adults clean up their mess.

Before he head out, his father, who was a young man looked at him solemnly and said. "Fang Ru, I know that you are a smart child, you are more matured than the kids in this village, nevertheless, I hope that you can take care of yourself well."

"Yes, father." Fang Ru replied, he bowed and bid farewell.

It was his decision to leave, his goal was to explore the world, but aside from that, he wants to ease the burden of his parents. They were barely getting by and the food was far from sufficient. There are no medical technologies in this secluded village, no such thing as healthcare system, and he was no expert in medicine either; his sister could die from various disease due to malnutrition. Having one less mouth to feed would increase their rate of survival.

In fact, if he do not leave now, his sister would surely die by next month from pneumonia due to not having enough food. This is the future that his ability predicted. There is a month of grace period, perhaps he can make a cleansing potion with the resources of the sect.

He knew that people, other than him, are so concerned about survival, he might as well help them since he can.

He left home together with other older kids also wishing to be a part of an immortal sect. Out of the kids present, he was perhaps the youngest. His parents tagged along and went to the village square after a while. The surroundings suddenly grew dark and everyone looked up to see dark clouds casting shadows on the entire land.

The villagers clamored. "They're here they're here! The immortals!"

One could discern from their voices their feelings of fear and awe they have for these for these beings. They are far powerful from ordinary humans, a single immortal could wipe them out from the face of the world.

The village chief called out to the sky in a shaky voice. "Greetings exalted beings, we are honored to welcome you to our humble settlement."

It was a bizarre sight for Adel who was from the modern world. Cultivators were powerful, but they weren't worshipped anymore because of the advancement of knowledge about cultivation. Everyone has a free access.

'Pitiful people.' He thought to himself. If some cultivator decided to offer them to some evil gods, they wouldn't be able to do anything. The laws here weren't as encompassing as in the modern world.

A pillar of cloud rapidly descended on the center of the village before it was dispersed by an invisible force. A gorgeous woman in white line appeared in their midst.

The teenage girl and the village chief must be familiar with each other as they exchange pleasantries and praises, mainly from the chief, in a skillful manner.

The woman took a crystal orb, the familiar object that is used to measure a person's talent.

Nowadays, people don't use such an unreliable method of measuring talent anymore.

'I may have travelled back in time for real.' Adel thought. As for how he come to harbor such doubts, let's just say that he didn't live for five years here in vain.

The cultivator scanned the rows of children lined up in front and her gaze stopped at Fang Ru.

Her eyes slightly narrowed a little. With his enormous amount of social experience, Adel determined that the woman was simply trying to appear less intimidating by attempting a smile. Unfortunately, her lips curved up only a little bit, the smile barely changed her expression.

Though in her mind, she was perhaps thinking that her smile appeared flawless and smooth.

"You first. Come up here."

Adel was satisfied by his useless conjecture. He went the stage and was asked to place his hand on the glass orb.
