Chapter 10: Time in Brunhild

Previously on Living in Idle...

"Hahahaha~! You're right! But speaking of the Grand Duke, he's also an Adventurer, right? The same rank as Asura-sama, and wasn't Asura-sama also been offered the rank of nobility?"

Then another, "Yes, but that guy rejected it~! Saying that it was too troublesome~! Maaaan~! Why didn't he just gave me the title if he didn't want it~?!"

Then another, "Oi oi oi~! Stop your whining! And are you insane?! Why would he give it to you?! If you really want that title, then you should work on tasks instead of drinking here with your lazy ass!"

The previous guy, "Shut up!"

As for the female Adventurers, well... they're mostly the same; "Kyaaaaaahh~! Asura-sama~!", "I want your seed~!", "Please marry me!" and such...

While on a certain Palace's courtyard, along with the crisp sound of someone training, a peerlessly beautiful young lady with golden hair and dark blue eyes could be seen training with the sword, a booming laughter erupted, which caused her to stop.

???: "What happened to you, grandfather?"

She curiously asked a man with white hair and beard, as well as possessing an imposing figure. Though he looks old from his hair and slightly wrinkly skin, it is evident that he's still full of vitality.

Old man: "Hahahaha~! Well, my dear granddaughter, you see..."

---Line break---

Touya: "So what do you think? Any suggestions on where to improve?"

He asked Ace as he watch him climb down from the cockpit of another Knight Baron, because the one he used yesterday is busted and needs repairing.

Fortunately though, the stinky smell went away, and the remaining blood stains was washed away with his magic. He still got an earful because of the damage done to the Frame Gear though.

Anyways.

Earlier, Ace asked Touya if he could try riding a Frame Gear and he agreed to it.

They're currently in the training ground that was made solely for testing the Frame Gears, so the place is really big.

Ace was like a kid on sugar rush the moment he entered the cockpit of the Knight Baron. He tried moving slowly at first. Slow walking then accelerated to running. Next he did some punches then kicks, then he tried doing some exercises like twists and turns to test the flexibility. The last thing he tried was using the weapons, he didn't try the shield, heck why would he? He took the staff, which was gigantic by the way, he swung it around while doing stances, jumps, and attacks. He didn't try the mace, no, that weapon is lame, the only method he knew on how to use it is by swinging it like a baseball bat.

After some time of fiddling and playing with the controls, Ace was finally satisfied and climbed down the Frame Gear, which brought us back to Touya's question...

Ace: "Quite a bit, actually. The best thing to do is to start improving the messy controls, but you should focus on its base first. Make it with the instantaneous movement that would be needed when in battle in mind. Then next would be its flexibility. I noticed that it's somewhat awkward. I think it would be best to liken it to human physiology or something, get that as a reference on improving the joints and hinges. After all, mechas are machines made for battle, so it's best to have the performance up for it, especially when in a high-speed battle. If not, then the Frame Gear wouldn't be able to keep up with the movement hence, would put the pilot in a tight position. Other than that, you really need to change the weapon. I mean, come on~. It's a Knight! So it should at least have a sword or a spear~."

Touya: "Ahahaha~. You're right, and we're working on it already. And thanks for those suggestions, they're really useful."

He said then turned towards his two engineers, Rosetta and Monica, that were on the side.

Touya: "You got that, you guys?"

To which they answered with a thumbs up as they fervently scribbles and draws on their individual white boards with the new ideas coming into their heads based on Ace's suggestions.

Touya: "Anyway. What do you say we stroll around? There are a lot to see here, you know~. But before that, I'm sure you're hungry by now, so let's get some breakfast in our stomachs first."

Ace: "Oooh~! Let's go! I'm starving~!"

...

Ace got acquainted with Touya's harem, along with the rest of his aides that helps him run the castle.

Yumina, Linze, Elze, Yae, and Lu, along with his summons, now turned pets. They were nice and are really hospitable. Though, they were thanking Ace for befriending Touya, saying that it makes them kinda worried that he doesn't have any friends, making him seem like an introverted emo, much to Touya's chagrin. So in shame or might be embarassment, Touya dragged Ace as soon an they finished eating, lest the girls say anything more, something a lot more embarrassing.

And right now, they are in front of a hollowed and smoothened out medium sized crater, that made Ace widen his eyes in surprise and excitement.

Ace: "Holy~! You've made a freakin' beystadium!"

Touya: "Hahahaha~! Yup! Besides, even without those special effects, playing with beys are still a lot of fun. So I made this and even taught the kids on how to play. Beyblades are already being manufactured by one of the shops too."

Ace: "Heh~. What? Are you planning on turning Brunhild into a Game Capital? If you are, then you have my full support! But... who said that these beys could not have any special effects, heck, it could be turned real~."

Touya: "I don't really have that intention, but it's a great idea. But more than that, what do you mean that the special effects could be turned real?"

Ace: "Hehehe~. We're in the world of magic, Touya-bro~. So of course, we'll do it with magic! Let me see your bey to get started~!"

Touya: "Ohhhh~! Alright, here!"

He eagerly said and took out a bey from his [Storage] and handed it to Ace.

Ace looked at the silver bey with scrutinizing eyes and weighted it in his hand. Sure enough, it's only slightly heavier than the beys produced back on Earth.

Ace: "Seriously Touya-bro? A bey made out of mithril? That's just cheating, no, it's outright bullying since you were playing with kids. And what were the normal beys even made out of?"

Touya: "You-.... Haaaaa~. It's not like that. It's my personal one, of course when I play with the kids I only use normal ones. And normal beys are made of a light iron alloys making it a bit more durable, because plastic doesn't exist here, and it's better to stay that way. Though, it isn't as tough as normal alloys get, it's a little brittle, curtesy of the Strand Company, saying that it's for the sake of profit. Though, they also produced ones that are really durable too, for those who wants to collect them or are just rich players and buyers."

Ace: "I see, well that is a great business move. Besides, if I guess it correctly then this Strand Company is that of a merchant, right?"

Touya: "Mhmmm."

Ace: "See? So you can't really blame them. As merchants, they always have a say when it comes to profits. But anyway, let's forget about that. Hold this, and watch carefully..."

He said and gave Touya his bey back and activated his AoE to materialize a bey.

Touya's eyes widened when he saw a black bey with golden accents materialize out of thin air. But based on his observation and from what he felt, it is most likely made from pure mana and turned into a real and solid material. But how could this be? It shouldn't be a storage spell, because if it is, he'll know it 'cause he's quite familiar with the magic, but what Ace did clearly isn't some kind of a inventory technique.

He kept quiet for now and watched Ace's next move attentively.

Ace removed the center piece where the launcher usually holds and showed its slightly hollowed interior, which made Touya raise an eye brow. What could be the purpose of it?

Next, Ace materialized a perfectly round marble sized magic stone, then spoke up.

Ace: "Alright. For this to work, this is the most important part. Magic stones are not that valuable in this world, right?"

Ace asked while showing the stone to which Touya nodded his head.

Ace: "Then we'll get to take advantage of that. So, next would require you to have a fine control over your mana, and inject it into the core and shape it..."

Ace said as Touya looked on. Slowly, Ace's hand that was holding the clear magic core began to glow gold as he began injecting it into the core. Then, slowly but surely, unlike what Touya initially thought that it might explode, the golden mana that was injected changed in color and took on a form, and into a complete three dimensional image. Though the core was quite small, Touya, with his enhanced eyesight could clearly see that it was extremely detailed! He could clearly see that it was a black eastern dragon! With glistening black diamond-shaped scales with golden edges! With horns of gold, the same goes for the claws too! It looks so vivid that it looks like it's alive!

Touya: "H-How is this possible? This dragon looks extremely detailed and real!"

Ace: "Hahahaha~! That's why I said it requires a fine control over mana!"

He said then materialized another magic core, just like the one he used earlier before imbuing it with his mana, he handed it towards Touya.

Ace: "Here, you try it. Just steadily inject your mana and try to picture the image that you want, just like what I did, which resulted in the Ouroboros Dragon. Now, I'm not saying that you do the same dragon, try picturing something that you can remember with great detail."
