Chapter one: Another chance

"Hey Naomi." someone calls out my name as i was walking down the stairs. I turn around to find out it's my colleague.

"Hey rubie." I give her a soft smile.

"Did you meet the Professor yet? Yesterday he went batshit crazy because you were absent. He was even saying things about expelling you." She had a worried expression on her face.

"Yeah i just got a free scolding as soon as i got here. Seemed like he didn't just want to expell me but also ban my medical license lol" I said.

"Did he really expell you?"she asked in a low tone.

"No he just warned me and let it slide for this time" I replied.

"By the way why all of a sudden you went absent without asking for leave?"

"Well I was on some shit..so yeah.. I'll leave now it's getting late. See you later."I said as i walked down the stairs.

I left from the hospital and crossed the road. I called for a cab and returned home within 20 minutes. I unlocked the door lock and stretched my arms as i entered into the house. My mom's a businesswomen. Mostly she stays out of the city or out of the country for businesses purposes. She returns home once in a while for 5-6 days so i kind of claimed her room too. At times I feel lonely at home so i often work overtime and wear myself out. I don't think i'm a good fit for a medical student. Moreover i'm not even sure why i decided to major on this subject.

Anyways i threw my bag on the couch and jumped on my fluffy bed. I couldn't even make myself walk to the bathroom sink to wash my face. My legs just won't move and mind won't command it to move. I fell asleep within seconds after i closed my eyes.

I could feel the sunlight falling on my face. No it was something different. The heat was unbearable. I was struggling to breathe. I could only smell burning fumes. Is my house on fire? I slightly opened my eyes to find myself in the middle of a deserted place. There was fire everywhere burning down everything. It didn't seem like a normal fire. It's not spreading but it won't extinguish either. The fire flames are black. It's abnormal enough but why do i find it familiar? I took some steps forward to confirm if this a dream or reality. I saw a black cloak with weird red clouds design on it on the ground. Wait isn't it the Akatsuki cloak? Is this some sort of cosplay programme? I kept walking forward and the next thing i saw was a person lying on the ground. As i went nearer to take a close look i found out that the person was in a bad state. He had burn marks and bruises all over his body. I looked around to see if anyone was around. But I couldn't spot anyone. I rushed to the man who was lying on the ground and checked his pulses. He was barely breathing. There was blood on the ground. After examining i came to the conclusion that he had coughed out a huge amount of blood. Even though i'm a medical student i never saw any patient in a critical state as this. Reasonably i was panicking. I gave him a cpr(30 time chest compression).But his pulses became more faint. I didn't know what to do. I screamed for help but there was no response. I almost considered him dead because there was no way he was coming back to life given his current situation. I looked for his I'D card to contact his family.But instead i found a headband. Isn't this the Konoha's headband? There is a scratch mark on it. That means it belongs to a rogue ninja. But why does this guy have this?What the hell is happening? While i was wondering these something crossed my mind. I immediately took a close look on that guy. No..it can't be..Itachi?!? And all these fire flames are caused by Amaterasu? Wait a minute it doesn't make any sense. Am I in Naruto world? Did i freaking swap realities?? I went back to my senses. It's not the time to think about these. I have to save Itachi at all costs. I again checked his pulses. It was so faint that i could barely sense it. I again performed cpr(30 chest compressions) on him. It didn't work. As the second step of cpr i decided to perform rescue breath. I lifted his head and went for it. During the rescue breath I accidentally bit my tongue off which caused to draw some blood. I pulled off and before i could go for the second time i noticed his pulses were going back to normal. Not only his breathing turned normal his bruises were healing rapidly. It was my first time seeing something like this. It was no less than a miracle. How is this possible? I asked myself. I keep rewinding the scenario in my head until I realised something.
