1 Living Corpses

Long ago, witches were hunted, captured, tortured and killed. They lived in fear and hate. Living in seclusion, hoping someday they could be accepted and lived in happiness.

But strange power made normal people afraid. The odd phenom that could endanger them, making no one wanted to close the power that they are alienated.

"Xiao, here!" Shouted a middle aged man from the gap cover of drainage. The girl called Xiao looked panic and anxious while she also followed the man and jumped into the drainage.

"Has it started?" Asked the girl while watching the man closed the cover of drainage.

The man took a heavy breathe and answered "Yes. Let's move before the soldiers could find us."

The girl slightly absent minded after hearing the man answered, with red eyes the girl chased after the man walking toward the drainage's tunnels.

The tunnels of the drainage actually were simple, but the corpses made some additional holes to make labyrinth. It helped to make the soldiers confused and couldn't find the actual basement.

"Why do you help us? You are a man, you don't have problem in having normal life. Instead you join us in this muddy water."

"No one should have those kind of treatment." The man slightly shook his head.

"We are abnormal, we don't have the witch power. You have the chance, you could get the power." The girl looked some what worn out and continued. "No, even though you don't have it, you still could live normally and brim in happiness."

The man only smiled and didn't answer her. It took him a very long time to make the corpses show him their basement. Yes, corpse, those who don't have the witch power were called corpse.

"Xiao you back!"

"Yao!"

Xiao ran toward her twin sister and hugged her tightly. "You made me worried, don't ever again went alone, Xiao. I only have you."

"En."

"Sir, thank you for protecting my sister." Yao bowed her head.

"Small matter." He waved his hand.

Yao looked at her beloved sister and asked "Do they searching for lab rats again?"

"Yes, Yao. But here we will save like always, they couldn't find us here."

Yao only gave a melancholic smile. To be a corpse, there was no way they could life in save forever.

In this shelter there were all woman instead of man, there were only 87 woman here included her sister and her. All these woman were corpses, we were corpses, A living person waiting to be butchered.

"I can't see aunty Zhang." Xiao browsed the people.

"She was captured."

"Ah." After a long silence between them, Xiao broke it by asking an oblivious. "Could we collect aunty's body?"

"No, but we could send her soul by praying."

"Yes, let's pray then."

They both clapped their hand while looking each others.

"Yao i am sleepy. Let's sleep."

In the middle of night suddenly a shrieking could be heard.

"Soldiers! They come!"

The people who run away was caught by invisible power. Only in a few minutes all of the people was captured. All of the captured was tied, oddly only one man who is still standing.

"You!! Bastard!!!" Cried Xiao.

"You can't blame me, you are only corpses and i have to blend with all of you to know where is your basement." The old man sighed softly. "All of you corpses took us a great time and power to know where your basement. Why do not surrender and not take our time?"

"We trusted you!"

"Evil!"

"Piece of sh**!" Cried another people from the crowd.

"All of witches and govern are ******!" Cried Xiao. "The witches only waited to killed us! They was acting by pitied them selves! Waiting for us to be careless and starting to slaughter us by giving power as the prize! Their plan runs so deeps like their hatred! They could wait for hundreds of years for revenge! Like a **!!!"

"Xiao! Don't!"

"Why sis?! I only said the truth!!" With bloodshot eyes she shouted. "Wait after all of us normal woman died and the next target was you!! Corrupted human!"

"Aaagghhhh!!!" Suddenly a burst of fire burned Xiao into ashes.

"Xiao!!!" Yao tears streaming made her view blurred.

"That's why we need all of you to become our specimens. Aaa--aaa, pity you couldn't be the savior for the next human race." Said the man coldly. "Take them away!"

"Yes, sir!

"Xiao! Xiao! Xiao!" Yao cried hysterically. "My Xiao!! Noo!! You can't!! My Xiao!!!"

In the cells only the howling of sadness could be heard. Yao only looked blank, her tears had already dried.

It's already past hundreds and hundreds years since the human race emerged with the witches. The peace was only at some point, after that some collected witches who still have seed of hatred started planning to make the world free of normal.

"Xiao." Whispered Yao. "At least i could pray for you, so your soul could be in peace. But who could do mine? Xiao... you are so unfair, leaving me alone when you said you won't."

"Xiao, i am sleepy. Let's sleep."
