In an accident, both a schoolgirl and a stray cat are both killed by an oncoming truck. However, due to a certain meddlesome goddess, they are reincarnated as one.
Shivering, Rie pulled her scarf tighter around her neck and face. Waiting for the light to change, she spotted a strangely purple cat walking up to the crosswalk opposite her. It sat on the pavement and turned its head to stare at the crosswalk lights as if it knew what they meant.
Other than this cat, nothing odd had happened so far that morning, as if it was any other fall day. So, naturally, she stared at the cat with mild amusement.
'How odd,' Rie thought. 'Did someone dye that cat's fur?'
She could have sworn the cat narrowed its yellow eyes at her in indignation. It stood up and proceeded to continue to stare at her.
"Maybe it's some kind of magical cat?" she muttered, jokingly.
Abruptly, the crosswalk light changed to a blinking symbol showing a stick figure walking.
Naturally, she crossed, and so did the cat. Just barely passing by each other, a large moving object barreled through the pair at high speed, turning the pair into a splatter on the road.
A moment later, Rie opened her eyes to see a small loli dressed in a flowing one piece smiling down at her with a fanged grin.
"Hiii~ Ya wanna be reborn?"
