16 015| System: Amethyst Eyes
The vice president was smiling when she saw them. But somehow Kevin could detect a slight coldness in her eyes when she saw Pia's hands on his shoulder. And perhaps at this time, he was well aware that this girl is indeed Kathrine.
There is no need for a scan at all. This is the same look she gave when she killed the class monitor back then.
Out of fear of being shut down again, the system chose to take the initiative to 'escape' before it will be out of coverage again. And of course it does not want to say it ran away because of fear. Instead it uses the excuse that he needs to report this matter to the main system.
Kevin has some complaints about this behavior, but was understanding. Though his main anger was more on the fact it could not take him with it. He doesn't want to face her at all!
So with an unnatural smile, Kevin called her out as she was coming near them.
"Julia." Kevin called her.
"Kevin." The vice president said as she glanced at the other two in the corner of her eyes. "Coincidence to see you here, care to introduce me to them?"
Although he does not like to do so, his mouth moved as it has a life of its own. Introducing his friends like it was natural. To some it might be like the two have some relationship for how he acted.
Pia and Jack noticed this and looked quite unnatural in how they treated Julia. They have no news of any love life from Kevin, the guy's sisters were the one who updates them about it in all their circle of friends. So they are quite ambiguous in their interaction with her.
Kevin's type is supposed to be popular for lovers. But due to the tightness of his family's protection to him. Most girls get intimidated and just stay as friends to him rather than being a lover to him. Not to mention the guy has a high amount of respect for his would-be partner, everyone was in agreement to protect him from wolves. Making it harder for someone for him to fall in love properly.
As for why he is tightly protected, let's just say his family has the strangest tradition and practices. Despite being rich and influential in their walks of life, they are very low-key. Opting to live is not much different than most average families.
They are also very patriarchal, valuing boys over girls. But the boys of their family are not the typical overbearing men. Instead they are raised quite 'delicately' until they are 10. Thus conditioning them to be highly respective to the opposite sex.
While boys were raised in the palm of their parents' hands, girls on the other hand have grown up with tough love. Making them overbearing in all ways they could be overbearing. Sometimes becoming the leaders or tyrants in their fields.
Strangely other patriarchal families face rivalries and other problems within the siblings in this type of family dynamic. But the guy's existence was like the glue that makes them stick together. Despite their differences, most of them behave as long as he is involved.
His family is characteristically possessive of him. His sisters for sure will not allow him to marry until the eldest and the second child have a firm standing on their fields. This way they could make sure that he is well protected even against his future wife that may only use him for their own advantages.
Pia and Jack have seen all these practices and thoughtful planning since they were two years old. They knew the inside outs of the guy's single life and the general idea of family situation. Coupled with the guy's sister's brainwashing on them, they instinctively don't like this girl who seems to be set on taking him away.
Kevin is a precious friend of theirs, they only want him the best of the best.
And this girl is like a hollow trophy. Brilliant on the outside, rotten on the inside.
So this girl somehow posing to them was unpleasing to the eyes. They will report it to the Dales sisters later. Let's see if this girl will have the nerve to continue this act.
Kevin was not aware of the changes in the mind of his friends. He was busy thinking of ways that the girl will not follow them or join them. Somehow he needs to warn his friends of some dangers due to this girl's existence.
Thankfully, he successfully repealed the girl and led his friends to the cafe they had agreed on.
"Say what is your relationship with her?" Jack said as he sat comfortably on his chair. "Your girlfriend?"
"No." Kevin was sulking with the mention of the world girlfriend. "She is not my girlfriend and I hope she'll never be."
"Rare to see you being that open of your dislike to someone." Jack commented as his girlfriend exchanged a glance with him.
"Well there are only the two of you to hear me out." Kevin said as he vaguely told them of his fear of her. He wanted to talk about the game world and the root of his fear, but he doesn't want to be treated as mental. So he could only be too loose on his words.
"If that is so, just take a distance from her." Pia said in a rare expression. "Out of us you have the most accurate instincts. If your guts are telling you to avoid it, then go and take refuge away from her."
"Thanks." Kevin said as he felt his mind lightening up. Only with the closest confidant do one get the comfort a tired mind needs.
They spent around twenty to thirty minutes in the café as the two had another class later. Short time, but it allowed him relaxation he was not able to have ever since he returned from his first game world. This made him realize the importance of having someone to hear him out when he has troubles.
The system was estimated to not be back for a while. So he doesn't have a conversation partner on his way home. Maybe due to his good mood, he has the urge to go to an internet café to play some games to waste some time. There is no one at home at this time of the day after all.
Maybe due to his good mood, bad things came to him to make a change. He did not expect to meet a man with a knife on the way. And he definitely did not expect that this man would target him.
He knew some self defense as his eldest sister is crazy with them. So he should have no problem with repealing the man. Only that he made a miscalculation that caused him to get a small wound near his neck. Thankfully there was a police nearby to subdue the man.
Due to the incident, he lost his mood to play. He returned home and decided to just study. That way there will be less incidents like this happening in his own home.
Unaware of a figure following him since earlier, the girl was now taking a special visit on his attacker. He was not aware of it, nor did he care about it. But if he knew he would be scared of what happened to the man.
The said man was released after some lecture from the police. As Kevin did not intend to make him responsible, he was released after some period. It did not help that the police in the area were more or less familiar with him due to his frequent visit to the station.
Lighting a cigarette to chase away his irritation of being caught, he took a shady alley to avoid the crowd of people. Finding his usual spot he was planning to just be idle for today. But a girl's appearance has made him think otherwise.
"John Gales?" Asked the girl.
"Oh what, a girl like you is looking for me?" Said the man with a nasty smile. His eyes practically undressing her in his mind.
"You attacked a young man today right?" The girl said with a sickening smile.
"Yeah I did? Do you want me to do something like that to someone? Take in mind I will not charge for money, I want something else from you." He said as he went near the girl and felt a cope.
"I just want to confirm that's all." The girl said as she leaned to him seductively. "I just want to make you pay for making him shed some blood."
In the next moment, the man's head was separated from his body. His eyes were wide open like he couldn't believe the last thing he saw. And reflecting it was a pair of amethyst eyes looking coldly at him.
The girl hummed a tune as she left the alley nonchalantly. No longer minding the bloody scene she just caused. Instead she is more preoccupied about going to Kevin without being detected.
