1 Chapter 1: Circumstances

Robert was sitting inside a Keithair flight in economy class. He was on a returning flight to New York after spending a lovely vacation in Arizona.

Robert wasn't a rich second-generation but had a decent stable job. His life wasn't the worst, but that doesn't mean he was happy.

After all, he was all alone in this world. He had no living relatives, and his once beloved childhood sweetheart had left him by dying in a car accident.

He tried to hide these sorrows by always putting up a facade that he was happy, but on the inside, he felt hollow.

He always felt guilty and wished he could change things, but at the end of the day, things were not in his control.

Robert sighed, putting away all his distracting thoughts, and decided to sleep. After all, there was no inflight entertainment on his Keithair flight.

Unknown to Robert, his life was about to take a giant u-turn.

Robert had been sleeping quietly for about an hour before being suddenly woken up by an announcement from the pilot.

Pilot - "Ladies and gentlemen, we're experiencing some turbulence. Please return to your seats and fasten your seatbelts."

Hearing this, Robert couldn't help but immediately become alert and completely awake.

The flight then started shaking vigorously, forcing Robert to grab hold of his seat handles and sit tightly in place.

The flight thrust started dipping downward as if the pilot had lost control.

At this moment, all the passengers in the aircraft screamed for their lives. Meanwhile, inside their minds, they pleaded to god to save their lives.

Unfortunately, god didn't heed their prayer, and the plane dipped entirely at 180 degrees and crashed head-first into the ocean.

Things just happened so fast that no one even had a chance to react.

All the passengers enjoying their lovely flight had entered a deadly situation within a few countable seconds.

That was a total of hundred-plus lives that had entered a deadly life-and-death situation, and there was no guarantee that even one of them would survive the events of this crash.

Some individuals would struggle and, with the help of their desire to live, come out of this event an entirely changed man or woman.

Robert, however, couldn't be one of these individuals as he had died directly on impact.

All that remained of Robert was a lifeless corpse that sunk into the ocean with the rest of the plane.

Robert's spirit got out of his corpse and floated away toward a dark black portal on its own.

The mindless spirit of Robert then found itself in a white room where other spirits were lining up in front of a giant gray gate with the words "Judgement Gate 05" written on top of the door.

Robert's spirit followed what the other spirits were doing and lined up behind a spirit joining a very long line.

After what felt like an eternity, Robert managed to get right in front of the door, making him the next one to enter the gate to get judged.

The grey door shortly opened its giant gates, creating space for the next spirit to enter, and Robert's spirit followed inside the door awaiting its fate.

Upon entering inside, the spirit came face to face with the complexion of a man wearing glasses in a black suit. This man was holding a brown cover book in his hand.

He looked at Robert and turned a page. In the brown book and spoke, "Ah, Robert Smith from the universe a35d, died in a plane accident."

"No, this can't be right. You were supposed to live till 65 but died at 29?"

"Let's see the reason for death turbulence, but there wasn't supposed to be any turbulence this week in a35d's earth."

"Looks like I am going to have to talk with the weather control specialist responsible."

The man then took out what looked like a phone and rang up someone.

They then argued and shouted for a while, but soon the man in front of Robert calmed down and cut the phone.

"Well, I managed to get you a spot in the experimental department, but that is all I can do. Rest will depend on your luck."

The man then made a swiping gesture with one of his fingers, and a purple-dimension crack formed.

"All right, then go on. We don't have all day. "

The man with glasses and a black suit clapped his hands, and Robert's spirit was sucked into the newly opened purple dimensional crack.

"Well, I hope you won't have to meet me again anytime soon."

The man then had an evil smile on his face as he faced the next spirit.

Inside the purple crack, Robert's spirit was bought in front of a giant white wheel by a hazy being that didn't have a proper figure.

Then this hazy being snapped his fingers and disappeared out of nowhere. This snap woke Robert's spirit which had been unconscious all this time.

Robert - "Huh, what is going on? Where am I?"

He then heard a whisper in his ears that explained his current situation.

Robert - "Wait, so I get to be reborn as compensation cause one of your guys messed up?"

"Wait, what even are you?"

The whisper replied, "I am a whisper left to explain the situation by a god."

Robert - "A what?"

The whisper explained, "Gods are very busy personnel, so they create whispers that manage menial tasks."

Robert - "Okay, got it, so now what?"

Whisper - "As I said, shift the white lever next to you and spin the wheel to decide your fate."

Robert - "Okay."

Robert followed as told and shifted the white lever, which caused the wheel in front of him to start spinning rapidly.

The wheel spun on for a while but soon stopped and pointed at one spot.

Robert read this spot and asked, "What does a35e mean?"

The whisper in his ear replied, "Oh my, you have gotten lucky. You, a resident of a35d, managed to pull a35e, a parallel universe like yours."

Robert - "Wait, so does this mean I can go back to my old life and change things like those reborn main characters in online novels."

Whisper - "Yes, now pull the lever again to get your cheat."

Robert - "I get a cheat too?"

Whisper - "Duh, that's the real compensation."

Robert then pulled the lever and spun the wheel again, and the wheel soon decided the cheat he would receive.

Robert - "A live stream system? I guess it's not too bad, although I would have liked one of those sign-in systems better."

Whisper - "Stop dreaming. The probability of one of those is extremely low as it breaks the balance of the entire universe."

"All right, two more spins left. Spin first to decide the topic you are live streaming and next what your age will be."

Two further spins later, Robert found that he would stream pokemon and be 13 years old.

Robert - "Well, I guess time to say goodbye, huh?"

Whisper - "Yes, unless you have any questions, I am done here."

Robert - "I do have one."

Whisper - "Okay, ask away."

Robert - "I wanted to ask, isn't the ceiling to my cheat a bit too small cause, like, there are only so many people who watch pokemon game live streams."

Whisper - "Who said it was going to be a game?"

Robert was astonished and quickly asked, "What do you mean by that?"

Whisper - "Your system will tell you, now bye."

Robert - "Hey, wait up..."

Robert vanished mid-sentence.

PS: By the way, it is Keithair cause I want to avoid getting sued for defamation by an actual airline.
