12 I'm Looking for any Fucks to Give

It was now Monday and I was getting ready for school. On Saturday, after we finished eating, both Max and Chester left and told me to tell them if Ryan came back. I just slept in all of Sunday. Everything that happened made me tired, but I don't want to think about it, so I'll just focus on getting ready.

I put on some jean shorts, a cute top, and some white shoes. I matched it with some jewelry and some glasses. I put my long, curly brown hair into a high messy bun, so that some of the curls are falling around my face.

Maybe the glasses will hide my raccoon eyes.

When I finish getting ready, I grab my stuff and walk out my front door.

I hadn't realized that it was raining until I stepped out of the house. Luckily I wasn't getting wet because of the roof hanging over my porch, but I couldn't walk in this weather and Nick took my car again this morning.

I turned my head to the house on the right, when I heard someone yell my name over the deafening sounds of the pouring rain. Max was waving for my attention.

"SPENCE, DO YOU NEED A RIDE," he yelled to me. I just nodded my head. He runs to his car and tries to drive as close as possible to me. I run over to his car, trying not to slip. I make it and jump into the car.

"Thanks Max," I say trying to wipe the water off my face. I didn't get too wet though.

"No problem. I'm gonna stop by Starbucks. Do you want anything?"

"Can you get me a vanilla bean and hot chocolate." He gave me a weird look because I ordered two drinks.

"The other drink is for later," I tell him shrugging my shoulders.

He buys himself a chicken croissant with bacon and we head towards school. He puts on the radio and we both sing along to it.

"Are you doing ok? You know, about what happened Saturday," Max asked me. I looked over at him to see his face morphed in worry.

"Yeah. I told you I was fine. Can we not talk about it?" He listens to me and drops the subject. That's what I like about Max. He's not pushy.

When we get to school, it's not raining anymore. There's kids scattered everywhere, doing there own thing. I don't spot anyone I know yet.

"I'll see you later," Max says and goes a different direction. I decide to go to my locker to put some of my books that are in my bag away, so it won't be heavy throughout the day.

When I got to my locker, I could see Hope and one of the other cheerleaders across from my locker, laughing. Hope was looking at me with a smirk on her face, but I just ignored her.

That was a big mistake.

When I open my locker, ketchup squirts all over me. From the top of my head to the tips of my toes. I turn around to see Hope and her friend with the biggest grins on there faces, laughing their asses off.

I still had my Starbucks drinks with me and I held them in the cup holder. As I walk up to Hope and her friend. Their grins never falter.

Once I'm right in front of them, I burst out laughing. They give me confused faces. A crowd starts to form around us.

"Oh, thank you Hope. Red really looks good on me. I think it might be my new favorite color," I say as I wipe some of the ketchup from my face and into my hand.

"Yeah, I don't think so," Hope says, not being able to keep a serious face.

"I don't know. Maybe you're right. Maybe it'll look better on you." Before she can register what I'm doing, I take my hand full of ketchup and slap it onto her whole face.

Everyone in the hallway oooed and had shocked expressions. Hope and her friend were frozen. While they were stuck in this position, I took my hot chocolate that was now warm and poured it onto their heads.

Her friend lets out a scream, but I wasn't done. I took my vanilla bean that was still freezing cold and dumped it down the other girls' pants. She started screaming more because of the cold substance in her pants.

"YOU BITCH," Hope yells at me, while trying to claw at me, but just when she was about to, the principal came out of nowhere and stopped her.

"My office. Now," the principal told us in a deadly tone. All I could do was smile. I grabbed my bag and we all went to his office.

When we got there, he played the whole recording back, to see everything that happened. Watching it all a second time made me even happier.

He told us that since we were on the cheer squad, our coach would give us our punishment. When our coach came in, she was furious.

"You guys are a team. You don't fight each other. You embarrassed the cheer team in front of the whole school. I'm really pissed off. I'll tell you your punishment and you deal with it."

"Actually, I quite the team. I was planning on doing it anyways. I can't be on a team with people with nasty personalities. You're not building a team. Your building self- entitled bitches and I don't want to deal with that. So, here's your uniform back," I say to coach Peterson and hand it to her.

"You can't just quit the team. The pep rally is in three weeks."

"There are four other girls that can fill my spot. What happened today will just keep happening and I don't feel like doing that, when I can be doing something better than high school petty drama."

"If your not on the team, then the school will give you your punishment and that will go on your record," she tries to convince me again.

"That's fine with me. I didn't care about cheer anyways. So, are we done here?" I was getting tired of all this back and forth.

The principal said that I was suspended for two days, so I had to go home. The other girls had to do community service for five days under coach Peterson's supervision.

After we left the office, coach and Hope's friend left, leaving me alone with Hope.

"This is not over until you leave this school, so I'll keep making your life hell until you leave," Hope says, all up in my face.

"And every time you come after me, I will push harder, so I suggest you rethink that," I tell her and walk away.

"UGHHHHH, I FUCKING HATE YOU!" I stop and turn around. I start looking around the empty space between us.

"Hmmm, I can't seem to find it."

"What are you looking for, idiot," Hope asks me.

"For any fucks to give, but I can't seem to find any. Oh well, I guess your out of luck." And with that, I leave.

"SPENCE," I hear someone calling my name.
