6 Rise of the Phoenix cont.

The rest of the class soon noticed that I was sitting and reading. Some had disdain written on their face for me as they thought that I had just guessed the answers and handed it over. Others didn't seem to care and some were hoping I scored badly so they could pick on me with Lu Ray and Mo LingLing.

The rest of the time went by like this with Me finishing the other exams just as fast. Finally, the last exam was finished and all I could think was that I was hungry and just wanted to eat. I wonder what they're serving in the lounge? Whatever it was it had to be so good and satisfyingly delicious.

As I was daydreaming of what delicious food was available to eat today.

I love food and no matter how much I eat it, I won't gain weight because of my fast metabolism. Of course, I still like going for runs in the mornings to help with keeping in shape. Come to think of it I didn't start running until I was 18. I should kickstart my running instead of waiting.

Movement at the front of the classroom caught my eye. I looked up to see Mrs. Gao hurriedly collecting all the exam papers.

"Alright, you may all have some study time before it is time for lunch. I will be heading out to the teachers' lounge to grade these exam papers."

With an excited glint in her eyes, she sped away out the classroom door and down the hall.

I noticed from the corner of my eye that one of the cute boys was turning his chair around and straddling it while facing me next to me.

" so how do you think you did? You seemed very confident while answering your exam questions," he said with a boyish grin on his face. I looked over at him and studied his face. If I was remembering correctly this was Mo Cheng, cousins with Mo LingLing. He was also very popular in school, especially with all the girls. However, even being Mo LingLing's cousin he didn't seem to have any malicious intentions while asking me this.

" yes, I'm fairly confident that I will score very well. I'm sure I'll even score perfect marks"

I flashed a warm smile and held in a laugh when Mo Cheng looked a bit dazzled by it.

As much as I enjoyed knowing I was able to dazzle a cute boy by just smiling I also knew nothing would come by it. He would fall for a transfer student later this year and eventually marry her in the future. But I could still be friends with him and that girl. If I was remembering correctly they were very successful in creating a gaming company that exploded in popularity. Having them both as friends wouldn't hurt. I wasn't worried about being used or betrayed by these two because in my past they were also kind and good people.

Moreover even if I liked the feeling of being able to dazzle someone with just a smile that didn't mean I liked being stared at for long periods of time.

" is there something on my face? " I said this innocently as if I was worried about having something that shouldn't be there.

I knew that nothing was on my face but I had to snap him out of his dazzled trance without being harsh.

He seemed to realize that he was just sitting there staring at me and his face tinged pink.

" oh no no, nothings wrong with.... anyways full scores? You must have been studying a lot recently then. " he smiled at me while nodding his head.

This could be a chance to put a bit of the truth about Su Lin into others ears.

So acting a bit uneasy I said.

" well my sister said I should do poorly to gain my parents love and attention ... because they don't love me enough otherwise..... so I believed her ..... but mama told me she loves me no matter what today even when Su Lin tried to belittle me to mamma.....

so I decided to at least try and show what I can do.... I just hope my dear sister won't be to angry with me. I know she just gets a little jealous of mamma and papas affections towards me and that's why she's always telling me to do poorly but I just don't want to do that anymore."

my voice sounded small and sad making. I was also naturally very petite and small so A lot of the other students especially the boys seemed to be feeling protective of me as they heard what I said.

" but that not very kind of her to want you to do poorly, isn't she your family she should be happy that you should do well. "

Mo Cheng had a troubled face as he said this and so did a lot of the other students.

Alright time to add some fuel to this.

With a slightly trembling voice, I continued.

" yes but I'm adopted and Su Lin doesn't like it when mamma and papa show me affection. She has played pranks on me before whenever they show affection..... but sometimes when she gets very upset she .... Shes had my pets taken from me by her maids and killed.... " at this a few tears fell down my cheeks.

I heard some gasps.
