27 Chapter 27. I'm his son.

"Mufasa isn't my son... He's my father." Asafa said as he got tired of the monkey.

"But what if Mufasa WAS your son..." The monkey said slowly as if he was about to reveal something ground breaking.

"Would you hate him if he got into trouble and you had to save him, even at the cost of your life?" Rafiki asked with a serious tone, as he for the first time so far looked straight into Asafa's eyes.

"Of course not, it's my responsibility as his father to protect him even if I die. If was my son...." Suddenly Asafa's eyes widened as he realised something.

Asafa at this point realised what his father was telling him... "Whatever you feel guilty about, it does not matter, you are my son and dying to protect you is my responsibility and I will never hold that against you. You are my SON!" That's what his father was telling him.

His father understood that Asafa felt guilty about his death, but it did not matter, even if he truly was the root cause of his death, a father would never blame his son.

"I'm his son..." Asafa whispered but he had fallen deep into contemplation and seemed slightly out of it.

Rafiki smiled and looked at the sky.

"So this is the gift you left for Rafiki! A good gift indeed old friend!" Rafiki shouted at the sky with a wide grin.

Asafa didn't even notice that Rafiki was shouting at the sky.

*Chuckle* "indeed I'm Asafa, son of Mufasa" Asafa said with conviction, no longer holding any feeling of responsibility for his father's death.

'if I died protecting Simba, I would never feel that it was his fault no matter how dumb Simba was behaving... That's because he is my brother. At the same time, Father would never feel that I'm at fault because I'm his son...' Asafa thought with a smile.

As he stood up he noticed the monkey sitting down in meditation.

"Monkey, thank you." Asafa said, realising that the baboon wasn't really as crazy as he seemed.

"My name is Rafiki, a friend of your father." Rafiki said while his eyes were closed.

"I figured."

"So what will you do now, my king?" Rafiki said while opening one of his eyes

"First I need to take back what belongs to me..." Asafa said with conviction.

Rafiki nodded.

"Then I'll ban all crazy baboons from stepping into the pridelands!" Asafa said as he turned around, getting ready to leave.

*Swish*

Asafa heard the sound of a swing, and he dodged the staff Rafiki had swung at him from behind.

"Oh good, good reflexes!" Rafiki said quite impressed.

Asafa simply smiled at him as he continued leaving.

Asafa had been gone for a long while and when he returned he found all of his gang discussing something.

It seemed like they couldn't sleep as well.

"I see, so his uncle is an evil king." Pumba said.

"Finally you get it!" Ayana said with an eyeroll.

"But how can I be his uncle if I'm a snake?" Hamu seemed even more confused.

"How... Did you arrive at the conclusion that you're his uncle????" Ayana almost lost it when she heard this.

"You sssaid that his uncle is king, I'm the king of this Forrest, so I'm hiss's uncle?" Hamu used his super logic.

Nala and Ayana stared at his with their mouths slightly agape.

"Yea that makes perfect sense!" Imani confirmed Hamu's hypothesis with a paw unde her chin as he pondered his words deeply.

"No no no! His uncle has a scar?" Pumba said.

"No, listen up. Asafa's uncle, a lion became an evil king of the pridelands. Now we need Asafa to return to save the pridelands!" Nala said as she felt that her sister would soon go on a killing spree.

"Ooooooh why didn't you say that!" Timon said as he realised.

"WE DID!"×2

"Wait so let me get this straight, Asafa is really a king???" Imani asked as she came to realisation.

"YES!" Nala was also slowly losing it.

Imani's eyes widened...

She suddenly hugged Timon, Pumba and Hamu together and whispered something to them.

"I think we should follow Asafa and defeat the evil king with a scar!" She whispered to the team.

"Are you crazy? Didn't you hear her? It's a fight between lions and hyenas, both of which wants to eats us!" Timon disagreed

"Besides, they have help from their uncle that can defeat the evil king!" Hamu gave his two cents

"No no hold up guys, look, if Asafa becomes king... Just imagine the royal life we'll have!" Imani explained her reasoning

"Wait, I just got an idea! If Asafa becomes king, and we're his closest friends, imagine how luxuriously we'll live with many lions that'll protect us!" Timon came up with a brilliant idea.

All of them suddenly fell into contemplation. The lifestyle here in the Forrest was good, but a royal lifestyle? That's even better.

"Ehem, I think, as Asafa's closest friends, we shoul be selfless and help him out when he's in need!" Hamu said loudly and bravely.

"Agreed!" Imani said!

"Agreed!" Timon said!

"Agreed!" Pumba said!

Nala and Ayana looked at eachother and felt that something was off, they couldn't hear what the crew whispered about, but their gut feeling told them that these guys were just behaving shamelessly right now.

"It would mean a lot to me if you followed!" Asafa said as he heard their last statement as he arrived here.

They all turned to him.

"I didn't want to ask you to leave your lives here for me, but it means everything to me that you're willing to follow me! Asafa said with a smile.

"Your highness!" The crew bowed down to show their loyalty.

"We don't do that here!" Asafa said while waving his paw.

Haammu also bowed that's when he realised something of importance.... How could he, a super snake, king of the Forrest bow to others? At worst, he was equal to Asafa, and at best, he was a super king and was superior to Asafa's normal kingship.

"Hmph you tricked me." Hamu said in a huff.

Asafa ignored him and started walking to the sleeping area as he had gotten sleepy. He needed rest as tomorrow they would start their travels.

"Ah don't ignore me, tell me the truth, you want to get my defences down so you can usurp my throne!" Hamu said while pointing his tail at Asafa, but he noticed that everyone ignored him and started walking to their sleeping area.

"Huh... Is he not after my crown?.. no I won't be tricked by you guys!" He shouted and tried to catch up to them unwillingly, after all, the best place to sleep is in the soft and cozy mane of Asafa, and if Timon got there first, he might take his favourite spot.

"Vile creatures, you tricked me so you could take my spot!!" Hamu cried as he he caught up then but they had all already gotten to their sleeping positions.
