Lin Feng

In the cloud sky continent there existed a small sect in the desolate south known as the hidden sword sect. The sect had only five members four of which were swordsmen of great reknown in the desolate south. The shadow sword, the flame sword , the wind sword, the earth sword and the sect master.

Li Kun the shadow sword was known and feared by all in the south due to his elusiveness. He was an assassin whose name sent shivers down the spine of anyone who heard it. Huo Yan the flame sword was reknown for his destructive power. Rumour had it that he had once cut off and redirected a river with one sword strike. Feng Jun the wind sword was a master of escape. It was considered a blessing to be able to catch a whiff of his sweat as he ran.

The earth sword Ye diqiu was known for his impregnable defence. He was a regular in gambling dens where anyone who could draw blood from him would be paid a hefty sum. The former sect master was known as the dao sword and was a jack of all trades. He unfortunately passed away due to old age and the new sect master Lin Feng was his self appointed protegee.

Lin Feng was a mystery, no one knew where his proficiency lay. On this particular day, Lin Feng lay on the grass under a tree with a piece of grass in his mouth with an ugly expression on his face. Just yesterday he had fallen victim to the famous truck-kun.

Lin Feng felt depressed about his current predicament. Everything about the current him was average from looks to talent. He was raised by a single mother back on earth with whom they were close. His depression lay in his inability to see her again.

Lin Feng knew what transmigration entailed. A brief calculation would suffice to draw the conclusion that by the time he was powerful enough to cross worlds she would be long dead. He just couldn't bring himself to be heartless and forget about the most important person in his first twenty years of life. Lin Feng wasn't all too happy about his cheat either, he had gotten a roulette system. The system wasn't inherently a bad thing. What he was most worried about was the possibility of someone controlling the system from behind the scenes.

'I'm surrounded by masters so I can just afford to laze around for my remaining days' he thought. He was too lazy to start cultivation despite having a cheat. He had a cultivation of the soul transformation realm at 20 years of age which was out of the ordinary. Only he knew a painful price was paid for his current cultivation realm. With his current talent it was nigh impossible for him to achieve such a cultivation realm.

The former sect master had infused his cultivation while on his death bed to Lin Feng resulting in his current cultivation realm. To Lin Feng, this unknown man's sacrifice didn't mean much to him but he knew it would be unwise of him to leave his current safety for the unknowns of the outside world.

Lin Feng planned to spend the month learning of anything he could of his current world from the sect library. For the following month, he lived a simple life. His mornings were spent in the library while his afternoons were spent lazing about under the shade of his favorite tree just outside the sect. This earned him the moniker 'the lazy sword'. 'It's been a month and I can't bring myself to get up and be active still' he lamented. This was the depth to which he had sunk into depression.

Just as he lay there thinking to himself, a sword came out of nowhere and struck him in the chest. A masked man came out from behind a tree and slowly walked towards him. His exposed mouth revealed a smile.

Lin Feng felt his hairs stand on end as he mustered his strength to fight back. With his soul transformation strength he could be considered at the peak of the desolate south and thus he held a degree of confidence despite being injured by the sneak attack. 'What do you want?' he asked with an ugly expression. 'You should know who I am and that your efforts are futile' he added.

The masked man let out a cackle and suddenly increased his pace. Lin Feng felt the world turn upside down and his world went dark. 'What the hell just happened, aren't I at the peak of the south?' were his last thoughts as he slipped into darkness.
