2 Chapter 2

Age 10

Since the day Satoru gained his quirk, he has certainly went beyond anyone's expectations.

Unlike what everyone expected, Satoru had no issues learning how to control his molecular space quirk now named Limitless. As soon as he learned how to read, he picked up Dr. Ishi's advice page to learn everything he can about it. Of course, there was plenty of difficulties during the reading process as he didn't actually understand what most of the complex words meant, such as protons, neutrons, and electrons, but he kept going anyway. Even though he had difficulty reading it, applying it was much easier for him.

Satoru was able to control the space, but he didn't understand what him doing it meant. He didn't understand the capability of it. After reading Dr. Ishi's paper, he realized that he had to experiment with it. He discovered so much through experimentation.

Satoru learned that by using certain molecules, and he created different effects. Neutrons allow him to basically stop things in motion, though it technically slows things down. He uses this as a barrier against attacks toward him. Electrons create a vacuum, like a black hole. Protons, on the opposite end, allow him to push things away. Finally, combining protons and electrons creates an extremely powerful force destroying anything in its path.

He got in so much trouble learning the last one as he ended up destroying his family's estate trying it out.

As soon as his parents, teachers, and friends realized his potential, they all encouraged him to become a hero. Thankfully for everyone, he wants to become one.

Thus, Satoru's parents got him into training in hand-to-hand combat. If he was going to be a hero, it would be a vital skill to have even with his quirk as power as it is.

Honestly, they shouldn't have been surprised when they learned that Satoru was a natural in that too. In fact, he seemed to be able to do about anything. From fighting to cooking, it seemed like he could do anything he wanted, which would eventually lead to his bold yet pestering personality.

That's for later. Right now, something else is taking the spotlight.

A few months ago, Satoru was told that he would be getting a little sibling. Logically, his first question was why. He wasn't interested in a little sibling. It's not like he would hate them if they do come into existence. He just didn't find the appeal in it. His parents told him that it was their dream to have more than one child, and they thought now would be the opportune moment to add a second to their family.

Satoru still didn't get it, but he knew there wasn't anything he can do to stop them.

Satoru is in the training room, working on his hand-to-hand when his dad bursts into the room, "Satoru, come on! Grab your bag we told you to pack and meet at the car, the baby is coming!" The man doesn't wait a second for his son to process the information when he is out again.

Satoru drops what he is doing, runs out of the training room, and heads to his room to grab his bag. He then goes to garage where he sees his dad helping his mom get into the front seat of the car. Anyone could see that the woman is in pain. Satoru hops into the back seat and closes the door.

Satoru asks, "Is there anything I can do to help?"

Satoru's mom looks back at him and smiles, "No, dear. I appreciate the offer, but this is something us adults must handle. You just follow instructions, alright?"

"Yes, mom."

Satoru's dad pushes the gas pedal and rushes them to hospital. In the front seat, Satoru can hear his mom trying to even her breathing. He feels frustrated that he can't help her, but he keeps that thought to himself.

As soon as they arrive at the hospital, it is chaos.

Satoru's mom is quickly pulled into a wheelchair and rushed off to a room. Meanwhile, his dad follows right behind her, and Satoru follows right behind him. However, when he reaches the room door he saw his parents enter, a nurse stops him.

"Sorry, but it is probably best if you stay out here for now. Just sit in that chair over there and wait," The nurse quickly explains before going in.

With a huff, Satoru sits in the chair and waits for what seems like forever. The first hour, he can hear the scrambling of nurses and doctors trying to set the machinery up inside while trying to make his mom comfortable. It seems to settle down besides for the occasion sharp words from his mother.

Hours go by, and Satoru doesn't hear anything significant happening. Once in a while, his dad will come out to check on him or maybe a nurse, but that's it. Otherwise, he takes the time to work on his homework. Once that is done, he just sits there and watches everybody walk by.

Then, the nurses start scrambling, and Satoru can hear his mom scream from the pain of the delivery. He can hear the nurses telling her to breath, calm down, and push with his dad. It's at this point when he realizes that he is glad that he can't give birth.

After what seems like forever, everybody goes quiet except for one being. That one being cries. Satoru's new sibling cries.

The nurses and doctors congratulate his parents on their new daughter and ask for her name, but Satoru can't hear what they said. He has a feeling they did that on purpose.

It would be a couple more minutes until Satoru's dad comes outside the room to look at him with a smile on his face, "Come in and meet your sibling, Satoru."

Satoru jumps from his chair and enters the room where all the ruckus had been happening. In the middle of the bed, his mother would lay with what would look like bunched up blankets in her arms. She looks up at him with a smile.

"Come here, dear. I would like you to meet your little sister, Shisuta," His mom calmly tells him.

Satoru comes to her bedside to find a- his baby sister in her arms. She looks tired despite sleeping, though with the crying she was doing, he shouldn't be surprised. Shisuta must have heard him come in. She opens her eyes, and dark blue looks back at him.

And she smiles.

At that moment, everything Satoru thought about little siblings before is thrown out the window. He is going to protect her even if it means he is going to have to kill a couple of people.

"I think his protective side is showing," Satoru hears his father says, but he doesn't care.

He has made it his life goal to protect his little sister Shisuta no matter the cost. Seeing her cemented his idea of becoming a hero.
