4 Chapter 4

I don't own solo leveling or Jujutsu Kaisen

...

"H-Holy c-crap."

...

The scene opened to a snowy arctic tundra as a figure was seen from a distance running away from something. Upon closer inspection it was shown to be the white haired youth by the name of Kim Bora desperately running for his life.

He was being chased by a gigantic two headed hydra. He kept on running and dodging out of the way of its attacks, using his experience as a hunter to survive against such a predator.

"Aaahhh!" Kim screamed out as his surroundings once again shifted back to his hospital room seamlessly. The only evidence he was ever in that arctic hell hole was the streaks of snow on the floor where he was laid out on his back.

"P-Penalty... t-trials?" he questioned exhaustedly as he slipped into unconsciousness just as a nurse was entering his room to come and check on him.

"Oh my! What happened here!? Someone get help please!" the nurse shouted out in a panic as she frantically tried to understand what was wrong with the silver-white haired youth.

...

"Hey, did you know that patient Kim Bora is a hunter?"

"Yeah I did, I also heard his parents are prominent figures in the hunter community too,"

"What did the doc say?"

"He said hunters heal faster than normal humans, so light exercises should be fine for the moment,"

"Light exercises, huh? I think he's got a different definition,"

The two nurses conversed with each other while watching Kim doing his workout, which was fairly intense for someone that was still a recovering patient.

"How long has he been doing push-ups?"

...

It had been a week since that incident with the hydra and Kim had learned a lot of new things about the system.

'The first, this thing isn't some kind of joke. Even though nobody else can, I can see it clear as day in front of my eyes,' Kim thought to himself as he looked at his rewards screen for completing the daily quest.

"Accept Stamina Replenishment," Kim said to the system that responsed in no time as he felt his fatigue completely vanish.

'I've encountered this type of magic only twice in my career and it impresses me everytime. The fatigue I felt before has completely vanished as if I didn't just do all the exercises required of me by the daily quest,' he thought as he expertly maneuvered the system to display his 'Character Template'.

'I get stronger the more I increase my character stats. Obviously, increasing my level would do the same. Stats, skills, quests, levels, items and item storage. It's kinda like those rpg games I used play,' Kim thought to himself as he sat down for a moment to scroll through his system functions.

But there was one thing that was bothering him. There was no way he was this weak before getting the system, his stats were way too low for his liking. He theorized that the system had forcibly made his stats that low which would explain why he felt physically and magically weaker than before.

Despite that..

"Things are sure about to get more interesting, that's for sure," Kim said out loud as he smirked.

...

"I'm just going to need you to sign here and over here," the receptionist in charged of his discharge papers from the hospital told him where to sign. It had taken another three days for him to be finally cleared for raid duty by the doctors.

"Alright," he signed the papers and asked if he could leave now. " Yes, you may make your way out of the building. Please remain in good health, sir," the lady wished Kim a good day. To which he responded with a nonchalant, "Yeah, yeah," walking away whilst waving his hand without looking back.

He took out a key from his pocket as he read the description provided to him by the system.

.

.

[Item: Dungeon Key

Item Class: D

Type: Key

A key that allows you to open an instant dungeon. The key may only be used at 1st exit of Seoul Express Bus Terminal.]

"A key that opens instant dungeons..." he muttered to himself as he walked towards Hunters Guild Headquarters. 'I don't know what I'm supposed to do with this. If it can open a dungeon at such a business public transport exit then does that mean a gate will appear there? If so then I should probably let the Guild Master or the Association know about it, but I got this key as a reward for completing daily quests. Should I trust the system on this one and check out myself?' his thoughts going in circles as he contemplated telling the Guild Master Choi Jong-In about the key.

It was a blue skeleton key that was embroidered in a fancy pattern.

"...No, I'll check it out myself," he resolved to himself as he pocketed the key away for himself.

...

He entered the state of the art facilities of the Hunters Headquarters looking for someone to give him directions to the office of C-rank Division Captain of the Hunters Guild. His name was Hwang Hee-Chan and he was a powerful B-ranked hunter that was the direct supervisor of all the lower ranked hunters of the guild.

He had requested for Kim to meet him in his office as soon as he was discharged from the hospital, because he wanted to the discuss the results of the practice dungeon gone wrong as well as the reports from the Probation Captain, Park Ji Sung.

He eventually found the office, it had a golden name plate on the shining wooden door. He knocked on the door and waited for a confirmation to enter. "Come in!" he heard from the other side of the door and entered the office without delay.

It was an office with glass walls behind the desk filled with touchscreen computers and wireless charging pads, it was a very high tech filled space, but also a very neat area with every book and file organized and packed away.

"Ah! Hunter Kim, I see you are finally in good health." Hee-Chan greeted the entering frame of Kim. "Please have a seat. We have much to discuss," he told Kim as he folded his hands together and faced Kim with his steel grey eyes.
