Experience Multiplier.

Suddenly Danny remembered that he had yet to check if he had awakened his own status window or not.

'Status,' he said in his mind.

A ping sound was heard as a window opened up in his retina.

[Name: Danny Finch]

[No Class level 1][0/100 EXP for the next level up]

[HP 50/50]

[MP 20/20]

[ATK: 7; DEF: 6; AGI: 8; PHY: 5; INT: 5; WIS: 5]

[+]

Danny was nodded as he saw that everything looked normal.

For an ordinary person, their average stat was 5. Danny's ATK, AGI, and DEF were higher than the average person due to the martial arts training that he had undergone under his parents.

His PHY, INT, and WIS were the same as an average person.

HP depends on PHY, it is usually 10 times that of PHY. While MP depends on WIS and INT, it is the double the sum of WIS and INT.

ATK represents the maximum attack power that the person can exhibit without the use of any weapons.

AGI, on the other hand, represents the maximum speed, the body of the person can exhibit.

DEF represents just how tough the body is without any armor.

PHY directly correlates with the HP of a person, it can also be used to represent the healthy a person is, it also affects our natural healing ability, higher our PHY faster we heal from wounds. It is even rumored on the internet that increasing this attribute can directly increase the life span of a person.

INT represents our information processing speed and reaction speed, while WIS represents our memory and comprehension speed. These two stats directly related to MP. INT also affects our MP recovery rate.

Danny then noticed the [+] sign at the bottom of his status window.

Curious he clicked on it. The [+] sign suddenly turned into another window.

[Hidden Skills Window]

[1. Limit Breaker]

[2. Experience Multiplier Lv 1][100 EXP for the next level up]

Slightly confused he looked at the info about the Hidden Skill Window from his status window.

Hidden Skill Window- a special window that can store and hide skills safely away from others. Unless the host wants these skill to be seen by others it will remain hidden from all skill detection methods in the Hidden Skill Window.

'I never heard of this before, this probably means that the skills stored inside the Hidden Skill Window are undetectable to Union Governments scanning devices and special skills that can be used to see others skill.'

He searched the internet for Hidden Skill Window, but it turned up nothing.

He then looked at the two skills that he already had. Although it rare for someone to have skills right after awakening but it has happened before, so Danny after an initial surprise did not think too much of it.

But what bothered him was the names of the skills.

Limit Breaker did not raise that many alarms but Experience Multiplier did.

He looked up the info of Experience Multiplier.

Experience Multiplier Lv 1- Multiplies all experience gained by x1 (Max level 10)

He then looked up the effects of the next level of the Experience Multiplier.

Experience Multiplier Lv 2- Multiplies all EXP gained by x2.

With a max level of 10 meant that at the max level he will grow 10 times faster than an ordinary hunter.

He quickly took out his quantum phone and searched for Experience Multiplier.

All that he got remotely close to what he was searching for was the Epiphany Potion and Enlightenment Potion.

Epiphany Potion costs nearly 12 billion credits, it can temporarily boost the WIS and INT by 100 points without boosting MP, since WIS and INT affect information processing speed and comprehension speed, this directly affects the efficiency of at which skill related to sword arts, and saber arts gain, etc gain EXP. Therefor Epiphany Potion can boost the amount of EXP we gain when we train our skills.

Enlightenment Potion gives us a chance to gain enlightenment, during the enlightenment we may gain new skill related to what our enlightenment is or if we already have a skill we are focusing our enlightenment on then that skill's EXP will skyrocket.

But there were no potions which can directly multiply the amount of EXP we gain.

Danny's heart was beating like a drum now.

He then used his mother's Hunter ID and got into the Hunter Database and looked through Skill Library. There was no Experience Multiplier skill or Limit Breaker registered in it. This either meant that only he had this skill or others who had this skill didn't register it.

Danny could understand why people who have this skill would want to keep it a secret.

More importantly, there is the Temple Of Greed that had the ability to steal skill from others.

If word gets out that anyone without strong background has such a skill then the Temple Of Greed will surely kidnap them and extract the skill form their body.

Danny was in a predicament now, if he reported an unregistered skill to the Union Government they will give him a large sum of money as a reward, he needs the money right now to cure his mother, but on the other hand, if there is a huge chance for the Temple Of Greed will attack him.

In the end, he decided not to register the two skills.

If the Temple Of Greed attacks him rather than curing his mother it would instead put his mother in more danger.

He then looked up the info about the Limit Breaker.

Limit Breaker- Breakthrough, surpass and transcend the upper limits exerted by the World, Law, and Gods.

The explanation about the skill gave him more questions than answers.

In the Skill Library, there is a skill with a similar name called Exceed Limit.

Exceed Limit is Berserker class Passive Skill that allowers you to temporarily buff your ATK by 30% of your base ATK. After the time limit of the buff ends there is temporary debuff which decreases your PHY, DEF, ATK, and AGI by 20% of their base number.

Danny assumed Limit Breaker is such a skill.

As he was pondering about his skills, a nurse informed him that visiting hours are over and he must leave.

Danny looked at his mother one last time before leaving the hospital back to his house.

After he reached his house he found that Aunt Susan was already their preparing dinner for him.

"Aunty, you didn't have to do this, you know that I can cook right," since both his parents work as Hunters he would be home alone most of the time, till he was 12 his parents would hire a babysitter, after that he had learned to house chores and cooking.

"I have tasted your cooking, and you are a horrible cook, so be glad that I am cooking for you," Susan forced out a joke to cheer Danny up.

Danny just smiled in return and decided to set up the table.

"Will Uncle Matthew be joining us."

"No, because of the funeral he had to take a leave and now he has pending work at the office so he is staying at the office tonight."

"....I see," he felt a bit guilty that his uncle had to suffer a sleepless night because of him and his family.

Susan seemed to have detected Danny's worries and said, "Don't worry Danny, your Uncle does this quite often."

Danny smiled in return, he didn't know if his aunt is lying to save his feelings, but he still felt glad to have an aunt and uncle like them.

15 minutes later both of them were eating dinner on the table

"Do you know when Uncle might be free I have something important to talk to him."

"I think he is free on Sunday."

Today was Thursday.

"Ok"

".....So what is it that you want to talk with your uncle for, just tell your aunt I sure I will be more help than him."

Danny hesitated a bit.

Before one awakens their Status Window everyone has to attend the Civilian School.

After one awakens their Status Window, they have three paths before them.

The first path is to continue in civilian school and become a civilian under the protection of the Union Government.

The second path is to apply to a Hunter School and undergo Hunter training.

The third is to skip the Hunter School and directly become a Pro Hunter.

As he is in dire need of money he decided to go down the third path.

But, to become a Pro Hunter before you are 18, you need your parents or guardians permission.

Danny was sure that his Aunt won't allow him to become a Pro Hunter, especially after what happened to his parents.

He did not want to burden his Uncle and Aunt with the huge amount of money that he needs to save his mother.

He was not too sure if his Uncle would allow him to become a pro hunter but the odds of him agreeing is higher than his Aunt.

So, in the end, Danny kept quiet about it.

Susan, seeing that her nephew is unwilling to talk, did not push the question any further.

After dinner, Susan went to sleep in the guest bedroom.

Danny was now meditating in the lotus position in on his bed.

He opened his eyes and looked at the clock, it was almost 1 AM.

He waited this long to be sure that his aunt would be asleep.

He carefully sneaked out of his room and traveled downstairs into the basement.

The basement was quite large, almost 4 times larger than the living hall. This basement was, in fact, the training room that Danny's parents use.

There was nothing stored inside their other than a small table with two chairs. There was also a training dummy, at the center of the room.

There were no windows and the materials used to make the walls of the basement is both extremely durable and soundproof. The floor was soft mat so falling down would not hurt that much.

After switching on all the lights of the training room, he moved to the small table and pushed it away.

Under the table, he removed the soft mat and reviled the tiled floor.

With some effort, he removed the tile and reveled and small number pad and a monitor.

He typed in a 12 digit password that only he and his parents know.

Suddenly some parts of the wall made woosh sound and dislodged from their position and rotated.

Most of these hidden safes contained cold weapons hunters use and armors etc.

One of the safe contained many books. These books were, in fact, all skill books that his parents collected throughout their lifetime.

Another one turned out to be a large TV.

For a second he considered selling all these books but he decided against it, as all these skill books were the most common skill book that you find very cheaply and are mass produced.

His parents had only average strength among E rank hunters, so they could not get their hands on the rarer skills.

There were 102 books in total.

He walked to the wall with the books and selected a book named <Basic Sword Arts>.

The book was a small one with 18 pages, so he quickly finished reading through it. It also had a very small CD.

The Basic Sword Arts have 9 moves in total, the thing that makes this sword art stand out from others is that it can be used with any type of sword, be it heavy or light, long or short.

After some warm-up exercise, he picked up the wooden practice sword that his father used to train with. He carefully weighed it in his hands allowing his hands to adjust to its weight.

He then turned the TV on and put the CD in it.

On the TV a skinny bald man was talked a bit about the <Basic Sword Arts> and began to teach it.

He observed the bald man and began to mimic his moments.

He slowly began to do the 9 moves of <Basic Sword Art> one by one.

After one move there was a short pause where the bald man would explain a bit about the move.

After the 9 movers were done once the Bald man paused and explained that he would do 9 moves <Basic Sword Art> together without any pause.

Danny mimicked the movements of the bald man and after right, after he finished the 9th move a notification popped up in his status window.

[You have learned skill Basic Sword Arts]

'That was quick.'

He pauses the TV and then looked at his skill tab.

[Basic Sword Arts Lv 1][10 EXP till the next level up]

Basic Sword Arts Lv 1: deals +1 DMG when using the Basic Sword Arts. ( max level 10)

'The DMG for is a bit low.'

DMG refers to damage, it is calculated by using a complex equation with ATK and AGI of the attacker in the numerator and DEF and END of the receiver of the attack in the denominator.

END is endurance it normally only appears after lv 10.

Danny put the skill at the back of his mind and played the CD again.

The Bald man did the Basic Sword Arts twice more. He gave a small speech about if you gain the skill after repeating the Basic Sword Arts for 5 times then you have a very high affinity for Sword Arts, and if you can't gain the skill even after repeating it for 100 times then it is better to choose another weapon.

'But I gained it after repeating the Basic Sword Arts twice.'

'Well whatever the Basic Swords Art is there to be the foundation for other more powerful sword arts, it doesn't matter if I picked it up a bit faster than others.'

Danny did not want himself to be arrogant, so he reasoned with himself to motivate himself.

He looked at the clock.

It was almost 2 AM now.

He was going to skip school anyways tomorrow so he wondered if he should continue to practice the Basic Sword Arts.

'If I am still level 1 so I miss my sleep then it will affect my health.'

He then looked at the skill tab.

[Basic Sword Arts Lv 1][10 EXP till the next level up]

'Its only 10 EXP, I can fill it up quickly and level it up.'

And so he began to do the Basic Sword Arts.

[Your Basic Sword Arts have gained 2 EXP.]

[Your Experience Multiplier have gained 1 EXP.]

He suddenly stopped and looked at the notification tab.

'So Experience Multiplier gains EXP whenever it multiplies EXP. Since it is a passive skill. Does it also multiply its own EXP.'

'I can't prove if it multiplies its own EXP when the multiplication factor is x1. So I have to wait till it is level 2 to have x2 multiplication factor.'

Danny was very excited now he changed his plans from leveling up Basic Sword Arts to leveling up Experience Multiplier.

Of course, currently, the only way for his Experience Multiplier to gain EXP is through practicing the Basic Sword Arts.

Technically he could learn another skill from his parent's collection.

But Danny wants to be his first Class to be related to sword arts, so he is unwilling to learn skills not related to swords as it could affect his class allocation.

He could learn another sword art, but his father who was sword master himself always said that it is best to level Basic Sword Arts to level 10 before learning other sword arts. As learning other sword arts without a complete fountain will make the foundation unstable.

He continuously practiced the 9 moves of the Basic Sword Arts.

[Your Basic Sword Arts gained 2 EXP.]

Seeing the new notification, Danny fell to his knees, he was exhausted. He had continuously practiced the Basic Sword Arts for over 3 hours.

Due to his strict martial arts training that his parents gave him since he was young, he had very high endurance and stamina when compared to the average person. And after the great catastrophe, the endurance and stamina of the average person have sharply risen.

Some of training his parents made him do was included endurance marathons whereby he is forced to run at max speed for extended periods of time. His record in maintaining max speed is about 1 and half hour before fainting.

Because of such practices, he was able to endure the lactic acid build up in his muscles and continuously do the Basic Sword Arts for 3 hours.

He looked at the notification tab.

[Your Basic Sword Arts has leveled up Basic Sword Art lv 7; 70 EXP till the next level up]

[Your Experience Multiplier has leveled up to Experience Multiplier lv 2; 200 EXP till the next level up]

Basic Sword Art lv 7: Deals +7 DMG when using the Basic Sword Arts. ( max level 10).

Experience Multiplier Lv 2: Multiplies all EXP gained by x2.

He was most surprised by the growth rate of the Basic Sword Arts. Seven levels in 3 hours.

'The Basic Sword Arts is supposed to be easy to level up but it is supposed to be this easy.'

'Maybe I have exceptional talent with the Sword or is it because I practiced the Basic Sword Arts before awakening my status window.'

'Compared to the Basic Sword Arts, gaining EXP for the Experience Multiplier is much harder.'

He put his thoughts to the back of his mind.

He took a break for 20 minutes and did the Basic Sword Arts again.

[Your Basic Sword Arts gained 3 EXP x 2.]

[Your Experience Multiplier gained 1 EXP x 2.]

[Your Basic Sword Arts gained 5 EXP x 2.]

[Your Experience Multiplier gained 1 EXP x 2.]

Danny was ecstatic to see his experience bar filling up at such a fast rate.

'At this rate, I might be able to save mom.'

In his excitement, he forgot his pain and recklessly did the Basic Sword Art.

"SHIT!! MUSCLE CRAMP!"

He fell to the ground as he clutched his left thigh.

Looking at the clock he saw that it was almost 5 AM.

'I think it's better to call it a day and get some sleep.'

After that Danny took a shower and slept.
