Astylos vs. Athena’s clone

"We meet again..General of Sparta.." The ethereal woman spoke, as Kratos and Astylos furrowed their brows.

"Who are you?" Kratos asked, as she began walking towards them. "I am amazed that you don't remember me Kratos, after all it was I could be considered your half sister." She spoke again, and kept walking towards them.

Astylos grabbed his hammer and readied himself, as Kratos and King Creon grabbed their blades.

Kratos started her down for a few moments before a slightly surprised expression appeared on his face. "Athena?" He asked with a confused expression.

"I am but a clone. And I was summoned by a ritual I instructed to be used when Athens is in danger. And seeing as I have been summoned, I can assume Athens is no more." She spoke.

"We do not want a battle, Athena." Kratos tightened the grip on his blade and gritted his teeth. "You have killed my people, Kratos. Their souls cry out to me for vengeance. What kind of a progenitor am I if I can't even avenge them?" She smiled and said, and instantly, a massive amount of divine energy burst out, as cyclones of water materialized just from the intensity of the force.

"Grandfather! You need to get out of here!" Astylos roared to King Creon and tightened the grip on his hammer even more. The display of power from the being before them, wasn't something a mere human like him could handle.

"No!!! I won't leave you behind!!" The old man roared out, and took a stance. What kind of grandfather would leave his grandson behind and escape.

*HAARRGHH!*

Astylos roared out, as near endless amounts of energy burst out his body. He immediately rushed forward at blinding speed. He reached the goddess in an instant and executed an overhead smash, bringing his hammer down with all of his strength.

*BOOM!*

Athena raised her hand softly, as Astylos' hammer cane to a stop a few meters away from her hand, the immense force accompanied by the attack, caused a fierce wave to erupt, which hurled Kratos and King Creon back a few meters away.

The remaining soldiers of Sparta and Thebes had already set sail, and the men watched the ongoing battle with stern expressions.

"Oh?" Athena chuckled, as she held Astylos in the sky with nothing but a single palm. She immediately began to walk around him and examined him before a surprised expression shone on her face.

"The blood of the Gods flow through your veins, but there is something else within you. What are you?" She furrowed her brows and spoke.

*HAARRGHH!!*

Meanwhile, Astylos was already sick of her monologue, he roared out, as more and more energy poured out of his body, immediately freeing him from her grasp, as he landed before her.

Without wasting a single breath, he smashed his hammer forward once more, this time, with all of his strength.

*BOOM!*

Athena smiled and stretched forth her finger, as it collided with Astylos' hammer, as a massive shockwave erupted once more. The next second, the island beneath their feet began to crack and shatter, but with a raise of an eyebrow, Athena restored it to perfect state, while still stopping Astylos' hammer with a finger.

"You're incredibly fascinating." Athena smiled and instantly, in a burst of divine energy, a massive explosion, akin to a nuclear explosion set off, as Astylos' figure was blasted backwards like a comet.

Kratos and King Creon immediately dodged out of the way, as his figure was hurled across the ocean and smashed into the Spartan ship, creating a large hole right in the middle of the ship.

Kratos did not even waste time, his body shot forward, before he leapt into the skies grabbed the chains on his blades and extended it before slashing it down with his full strength.

Athena did not even budge. With an extension of her finger, a massive cyclone of flame materialized, before it coalesced into the figure of a red dragon as large as a huge mountain.

The dragon swung its tail, which blasted Kratos and his blades away unto the ground. It appeared before Kratos once more, as a massive column of blazing energy burst out of its mouth like a fountain.

Kratos immediately began to twirl his blades in a circular pattern, which shielded his body from the blazing energy, even though he was being pushed back every second.

*HARRRGHH!!*

The next moment, a large roar reverberated across the area, followed by a massive column of green light, with a an angry Astylos floating in the middle of the column of energy holding unto his hammer.

'That energy, it's similar to natural mana, yet it is immensely stronger and more ferocious.' Athena thought as she squinted her eyes. The next second, Astylos' body landed on the ground and shot forward, leapt into the skies and brought his hammer down once more.

However, before he could even land, a divine energy seized his body in the air. "It seems you grow stronger with every defeat." She squinted her eyes and spoke once more. "Well then let's see what your limits are, shall we?" She smiled and began to levitate and opened her arms.

Immediately, the sun darkened, and tides and waves of the ocean seemed to shift to the opposite direction.

Astylos broke free of her grasp, landed and shot into the sky, like an arrow, however his body was blasted to the ground by a large beam of divine energy. With his hammer in front of his body to shield himself, he was sent right into the core of the island into the ocean.

"King Creon, we have to leave now!!!" Kratos who had been severely injured by Athena's dragon rushed to the king of Thebes and grabbed him by the arm. A small boat had already been prepared by them in case of emergencies, and he knew it was time to go.

"No! No!! I can't leave my grandson behind!" He roared out in defiance, but Kratos grabbed him by the arm and leapt right into the boat.

"Calm down!! If we stay, we're only going to hold him back. If anyone can stop her it's him." Kratos talked some sense into the old man, as he burst out into tears. If only he wasn't so useless, he could've saved everyone and defeated Athena by himself.

The moment they left the island, a beam of intense green energy burst out and blasted towards Athena who only stretched her hand and blocked it a shield of divine energy.

The next moment, Astylos burst out of the island, with anger and ruthlessness smeared over his face. He immediately stretched his hand out, as a round green energy sphere gathered and blasted towards Athena.

She instantly stretched her finger as it exploded with a bang.

However, the next moment, Astylos stretched out both of his hands and began firing multiple energy spheres towards the Goddess. He was like a humanoid machine gun with no reload time.

Athena stretched forth her palm, as a large shield materialized, blocking the energy spheres from her body, as a smile erupted on her face.

Seeing how easy his attack had been thwarted, Astylos fumed with rage. He immediately closed his eyes, and began to circulate his energy within his body furiously, and in the next second, he slowly began to levitate.

*BOOM!* His body shot into the sky at full speed, breaking the sound barrier in an instant as he clashed with the Goddess.
