2 Chris' cousin

Chris was waiting for his cousin's arrival when he heard someone calling for him. He was trying to look where the voice came from because it's familiar to him. While looking around, he saw Alex walking up to him, so he meets her halfway.

"What are you doing here?" Alex asked him.

"I'm waiting for my cousin's arrival. What about you?"

"I'm going to get our plane tickets to my aunt. She suddenly had an emergency, so she needs to go back to the head office. In return, she asked me to come and get it here before she goes."

"Where are you going? Also, have you met her already?"

"Back in my hometown for a few days. It seems like she has boarded already."

"Then, stay with me first. I'm going to introduce you to my cousin. You know, meet the families."

"Oh please! Don't be ridiculous, Chris. We're like a family, it'll be incest."

Chris just laughed at her response, but he didn't stop pushing his luck.

"Don't make it sound like that, we're friends, yes. But don't friends hooked up with each other? I mean, it's just a fling, a one-time thing. No need to be so serious."

Alex just stared blankly at him while Chris was trying to read what's on her mind. He has an encouraging look in his face and he was smiling at her too.

Chris mind was elsewhere, he was thinking about the possibility of Alex agreeing to what he has proposed. Oblivious to his surrounding, Alex already left him making him look like a fool there, smiling by himself.

Lucky for him, his cousin already arrived and tapped his shoulder while he was in dazed. If not for his cousin, he'll be looking weird for so long. He can't help but think that girl really has a habit to leave him without saying anything before leaving him.

"What's happening to you, smiling by yourself? What? Already gone crazy?" His cousin would always tease him when he got a chance and unfortunately, this is one of those chances

He needs to rebut something or else he'll be tease all day.

"Please, dude! Who is the guy who roamed around the world for a year just because he was brokenhearted?" Chris smirked, it's not a secret in their family that his cousin roamed around the world because he was heartbroken.

"Fine!" His cousin was raising his hands as if he's admitting his defeat.

After all, if he was really screwed, what could be his cousin then?

He really doesn't understand his cousin, just because of some girl, he stopped attending school and decided to roam around the world to have a fresh start.

It's already been months till his cousin stopped attending school, maybe he has already moved on, right?

He can't even ask his cousin, it will look bizarre if he were to ask him, they are guys. Guys normally don't talk about those kind of things, not when they had a drink of course.

"So, how long do you plan to stay here?"

"Until I feel like staying, why? You want me to go already?"

"Of course not!" Chris can't help but feel embarrassed. He got him there.

"Don't deny it dude, I know you don't want me here for too long." His cousin shrugged his shoulders like it was not really a big deal.

He really hates his cousin, well, not really hate but this guy is his mom's favorite nephew.

Of course, he can't help but feel jealous. He was sure that their house will be full of admiration and praise for his cousin.

He was driving when Miguel suddenly started talking to him.

"Hey Chris! Is Aunt at home or at work?"

"At home, of course. She took a day-off for you. She's been waiting for you since this morning, preparing foods and such. You know mom, she really likes you a lot."

"Why do I feel a sense of jealousy there?"

"Shut up dude! We're here already let's go!"

They both went outside the car and Chris' mom is already there waiting for them.

"Miguel hijo, you're finally here! Come and give me a hug!" Miguel gave his aunt a hug as for what she requested.

After his aunt got a warm hug, they all went inside the house to rest and catch up more with each other. His aunt asked him about his flight and the places he have visited before.
